Easy Allies MAFIA

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Blah, sorry I'm probably going to be taking a small break from this while I'm playing in Conspiracy 2. I'll get back on it once I'm done.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Ok, refereshing my mind on what was going on in here, I was trying to get a new item list put together, and then some other events to have in the game.

I'll ponder a bit more on the voting for events thing, still going back and forth on that in my head.

I'll work on a new item list next though. I think we were talking about having more items available so that the quantity of items could be brought down, and yeah I agree that makes sense.

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
I believe your'e correct! I'll be a bit spotty in availability this weekend, but I'll try and check intermittently.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Yeah, I'm actually going to be out this weekend as well now and stuck on mobile. I'll maybe get some things done tomorrow, but if you're going to be out this weekend too then I'll probably just wait until Monday to get things prepared again in here.

Right now I've got a list of all the new items we were talking about on the last page, I just haven't gone through and figured out what the quantities/prices should be for them yet.

And then for the events, I'm currently leaning back towards the original plan of just having them in a set schedule. I think that fits the Easy Allies flavor better since they post weekly schedules on their site for when their shows are going to air.

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
Seems like a good plan then - I'll check back in early next week to see what I can do to keep the ball rolling o7

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Ok, so I took some of the ideas we had for other items, and then came up with a few more on my own.

Here is a list of some new items to add to the store:
  • Amnesiac Cop - (alignment results on target, but they are sent to a random player)
  • Traffic Analyst - (learn if another player was privately talking at night)
  • Mind Control - (target a player and choose their target for the night)
  • Spec Question - (ask any yes/no question to spec chat, receive results in the form of # of yes/no responses)
  • Redirector - (any actions targeting them will be redirected to their target instead)
  • Copycat - (targets another player and copies their action, if they have one, and uses it on a second player also chosen by them)
  • Innocent Child - (Gamerunner will say they are Town regardless of their actual alignment)

I also think I want to remove the Double Vote from the store completely just to get rid of any vote stacking shenanigans that could happen with that. I will replace the Double Vote with a Motion Detector.

So, in terms of prices, I think I want to simplify things a bit, going off of the rotating item store idea from earlier.
  • 2 of 5 ($500-$1000): Motion Detector/Flavor Cop/Messenger/Randomizer/Spec Question
  • 2 of 5 ($1000-$3000): BP Vest/Vanilla Cop/Tracker/Switcher/Amnesiac Cop
  • 2 of 5 ($3000-$5000): Traffic Analyst/Mind Control/Redirector/Copycat/Commuter
  • 1 of 3 ($5000-$9999): Innocent Child/Vigilante/Birthday Cake

So, the way it works is that each day, there will be 7 items available based on the RNG described above. They are within fixed price ranges in each tier, so for example, Double Vote and Flavor Cop would be $500, Messenger would be $750, Randomizer and Spec Question would be $1000. The final tier would be the most expensive items, IC would be $5000, Vig shot would be $7500, and the Birthday Cake is $9999.

For quantities, it can also be handled by the different tiers. 3 of each from the first tier, 2 of each from the second tier, and only 1 of each available each day from the 3rd and 4th tiers.

Here's an example Item Store roll for a day under these rules.
  • Motion Detector x3 - $500
  • Messenger x3 - $750
  • Randomizer x2 - $1000
  • Vanilla Cop x2 - $1000
  • Traffic Analyst x1 - $3000
  • Copycat x1 - $5000
  • Birthday Cake x1 - $9999

I would also implement a one per customer rule to the store, so someone couldn't just buy 3 Messenger shots all for themselves for example.

When it comes to the Don Buck economy and making sure people have enough Don Bucks to purchase things:
Since this is a Bastard Game, I can kind of reserve the right as the Gamerunner to just give out random Don Bucks to people for whatever reason I want, it is something that fits with Easy Allies flavor as well since Huber enjoys giving people gold in the Mysterious Monsters game show for any random reason. If there were to ever come a point where people were really low on Don Bucks and very few people, or straight up no one, was able to buy things from the store, I could just give everyone a bunch of Don Bucks and tell them to go nuts, or slash prices in the store and make it a sale, whatever, there are ways to brute force this economy into working if need be lol.

-------

On a final note, I know this game is a lot to wrap one's head around, so I will try to get a new overview post made soon here as well that just recaps everything we've talked about so far and tries to explain the core components and how they interact with each other a bit better.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Oh, I also want to replace the Shady Dealer's Lightning Rod item with a Vanillaizer item. Scum selling someone a Lightning Rod is kind of weird in this game actually, so I figured giving someone an item that turns them into a Vanilla if they have a PR would be a good one to replace that with instead.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
The main mechanics of Easy Allies Mafia can be split into 4 parts.
  • Don Bucks
    • Don Bucks are a form of currency in the game. Every player in the game will start with $1500 Don Bucks (except for the Neutral, but we'll get to that later).
  • Item Store
    • An Item Store will be made available during the day where players can spend Don Bucks to purchase "items" (1-Shot powers).
  • Betting
    • Players can also win or lose Don Bucks by placing Bets with each other over game-related things.
  • Events
    • Each of the first 5 days will have a scheduled Event that will take place which alters the game in some way or provides players with mini-games to play and earn Don Bucks.
The Item Store is based on a rotating set of items that are grouped together in tiers based on price and quantity.
  • 2 of 5 ($500-$1000): Motion Detector/Flavor Cop/Messenger/Randomizer/Spec Question
  • 2 of 5 ($1000-$3000): BP Vest/Vanilla Cop/Tracker/Switcher/Amnesiac Cop
  • 2 of 5 ($3000-$5000): Traffic Analyst/Mind Control/Redirector/Copycat/Commuter
  • 1 of 3 ($5000-$9999): Innocent Child/Vigilante/Birthday Cake

A full list of Items and Events in the game can be seen in the spreadsheet at the bottom of this post.

Now that those basics are understood, the following is the role setup:
Easy Allies Mafia is a 25 player game
19 Town / 5 Mafia / 1 Neutral
  • The Town
    • 1-Shot Day Vig (Daniel Bloodworth)
      • Submits the command "Kill: <Player Name>" to the Gamerunner during the day.
    • 1-Shot Betting Cheat / 1-Shot Duelist (Kyle Bosman)
      • Can submit "Cheat: <Player Name>" to the Gamerunner when placing a bet to always win that bet.
      • After successfully cheating, can then submit the command "I Challenge <Player Name> To A Duel" publicly in the game thread to challenge that player to a duel. The two will then compete in a mini-game, the winner will receive the item of their choosing from the Item Store for free.
    • Double Down (Don Casanova)
      • Can submit the command "Double Down" to the Gamerunner after placing a bet to win or lose double that bet.
    • Amateur Sleuth (Michael Damiani)
      • Can submit the command "Sleuth: <Player Name>" at night to learn that player's alignment, either Town or Not Town. Each investigation costs $500 Don Bucks.
    • Amateur Doctor (Bradley Ellis)
      • Can submit the command "Heal: <Player Name>" at night to protect that player from dying. Each heal attempt costs $500 Don Bucks.
    • Hype Master (Michael Huber)
      • Can submit "Hype: <Player Name>" during the day to be put in a Gossip chat with that player at night. If they choose, they can submit the command "Axe: <Player Name>" at night to Roleblock their target.
    • Lost Weekend Update Host (Ian Hinck)
      • Can submit the command "Check: <Player Name>" to see if their target is their Weekend Update host, Elyse. If it is, then they will receive the same Neutral win condition as her, add their Don Bucks to her total, and be put into a private chat with her. They do not know about Elyse's alignment or win condition until then, only that they are searching for her.
    • Lover x2 (Brandon Jones and Amanda Troop)
      • They have a private chat together, but will also die together if one of them dies.
    • Town Backup (Ben Moore)
      • Inherits the role of the first non-Lover Town PR to die. Will not gain any extra shots if they were X-Shot.
    • Dog Investigator (Sophie)
      • Can submit the command "Sniff: <Player Name>" at night, results are Dog or Not Dog. Only receives Not Dog.
    • Vanilla x8 (EZA Fans)
  • The Mafia
    • Betting Champion (Ultima Brad)
      • Godfather. Can also secretly join any bets that are placed and win/lose Don Bucks accordingly by submitting the command "I'll Take That Bet: <Player Names>" to the Gamerunner.
    • Backdoor Shady Dealer (Brand Manager)
      • Can submit the command "Shady Deal: <Player Name>" during the day to the Gamerunner to present that player with a list of fake items at night that they can purchase with Don Bucks. Receives any Don Bucks spent by that player.
    • 1-Shot Easy Update Host (Rainy Day Ian)
      • Can submit the command "Easy Update" at night, overriding the next scheduled event with Easy Update, pushing the scheduled event back a day.
    • Odd-Night Roleblocker / Even-Night Strongman (Cold Blooded)
      • Can submit the command "Block: <Player Name>" to Roleblock a player on Odd Nights. Can submit the command "Strong Kill: <Player Name>" to modify the normal faction kill with a Strong Kill on Even Nights.
    • Mafia Backup (Benzilla)
      • Inherits the role of the first Mafia player to die. Will not gain any extra shots.
  • The Neutral
    • Don Buck Thief (Elyse Willems)
      • Starts with 0 Don Bucks. Can submit the command "Rob: <Player Name>" to the Gamerunner to attempt to steal up to $1000 Don Bucks from a player at night. Will win and exit the game if they reach $5000 Don Bucks.

The Spreadsheet for the game has been updated to reflect the current state of the game: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1L3M7HxAb2WyLVUxFme99bVpeze-h9ay9bqwkRGCAKIE/edit?usp=sharing

Fanto

Confirmed Town
I realize that with all of these powers and the amount of misdirection abilities with the items and whatnot, it might be hard to figure out the worst-case-scenarios here.

I do think with the amount of Don Bucks and RNG that it would take to get extra kills, we can safely assume that Mafia should be able to live through 2 day phases as per the reviewer guide, I don't think Town can take out 5 in 2 days? I think they can take out 5 by the start of D3 but that would require someone buying a $7500 Vig shot on D2, as well as a Redirect/Mind Control/Copycat/Randomizer on the Night Kill forcing them to kill another Mafia instead.

For Town, yeah things could get out of control pretty fast I think, but again it would require bad RNG with the misdirects while also assuming that somehow people get enough Don Bucks early on to purchase things like multiple Vig Shots or Birthday Cakes and using them to kill Town immediately every time.

I'll wait to hear what you guys think again though, I think this is a good summary of where I'm at with the game for now until there are more questions/concerns to address.

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
Sitting here waiting on jury duty, but I read the updates. Without crunching numbers and simply doing a gut check I think:

A) Mafia are too weak. They have a one shot that causes annoyance and messes with money. They have another role that helps them gain extra money. At the same time though a player can only buy one item anyways, and you’re already speculating that you might just throw caution to the wind and make it trivial to get items at some point which directly neuters those two powers. Then you have a shady item dealer that maybe works once, and also a backup that likely catches a role with limited upside as described above. There’s really only one traditionally strong role.

B) Way, way too many ways for town clears here. Let’s run down the list - Amnesiac Cop, Traffic Analyst, Flavor Cop (Maybe? Not info background with the source material), Copycat, Mind Control, Innocent Child, Birthday Cake, and Amateur Sleuth all have investigative aspects that can out scum.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Yeah, in my head there were items that would help Scum too, but I ended up with just a boatload of Town stuff in there.

I could probably run through the Scum team and just give them all some traditional Scum powers as well. Similar to how the Betting Champion is also a Godfather.

There are also some strong modifiers I could add to a Scum player or two which I was thinking about as well. Stuff like Ninja, Ascetic, Nexus, things like that, just as kind of universal counters to the many different pro-Town items.

And on top of that I can pare down some of the investigations in the Item Store still, yeah. I'll find some less useful stuff to mix in as well.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Like, for example:
What if the Easy Update Host is also a Ninja?
What if the Backdoor Shady Dealer is also Ascetic when using their action or performing the Night Kill?
What if the Backup is a Nexus until they take on someone else's role?

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Those are just examples of course, I'd want to actually run through and do some more thinking on Scum powers now, but just wanted your thoughts on those modifiers I guess.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
So in terms of some non-investigation items, I could maybe replace the following with some new ones:

Motion Detector -> Firefighter
Flavor Cop -> Poison Doctor
There isn't any Poison or Arson going on in this game, so these would just be useless cheap Bastard items.

Swap the Randomizer and the Vanilla Cop in the tier lists, then:
Vanilla Cop -> Conspiracy Theorist
Check to see if a player is an Alien. There are no Aliens in the game, so they will always receive Not Alien.

Copycat -> Lie Detector
Ask the Gamerunner whether a quote from a player in the game is true or not.

Traffic Analyst -> Party Host
The Pedro/Monkey special where everyone gets to talk at night in the game thread.

Innocent Child -> Time Rewind
This would be the ability that Max had in LiS Mafia: Reset the vote totals to 0. Fireblend also told me after LiS that there is a secret command that the Vote Tool has that we can use to do this too, so it doesn't need to be as messy as it was in LiS lol.

So the full new Item Store list would look like:
  • 2 of 5 ($500-$1000): Firefighter/Poison Doctor/Messenger/Conspiracy Theorist/Spec Question
  • 2 of 5 ($1000-$3000): BP Vest/Randomizer/Tracker/Switcher/Amnesiac Cop
  • 2 of 5 ($3000-$5000): Party Host/Mind Control/Redirector/Lie Detector/Commuter
  • 1 of 3 ($5000-$9999): Time Rewind/Vigilante/Birthday Cake
Let me know what you think of that, I'll go over the Scum roles again next.

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
I think it would be better to spread out the useless items to also hit the non-cheapest tiers some. Buffing Mafia is a good idea, though simply giving modifiers I don't think gets it all the way there. Here's an idea - maybe you have a mafia exclusive set of items that are strictly beneficial to them? I can also try and come up with idea suggestions at some point.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Yeah, I could try to shuffle those into the other tiers too. I'm not sure if I want people to be paying more than $3000 for a useless item though, so I kind of want them to only be in the first two tiers.

So the new item list would be:
  • 2 of 5 ($500-$1000): Firefighter/Randomizer/Messenger/Poison Doctor/Spec Question
  • 2 of 5 ($1000-$3000): BP Vest/Redirector/Conspiracy Theorist/Switcher/Tracker
  • 2 of 5 ($3000-$5000): Party Host/Amnesiac Cop/Mind Control/Lie Detector/Commuter
  • 1 of 3 ($5000-$9999): Time Rewind/Vigilante/Birthday Cake
I might also want to change the quantities to just be x2 from the first two tiers and x1 from the last two tiers per day, that feels like it makes more sense to me.

So an example roll for a day with this item store would look like this:
Messenger x2 ($750)
Spec Question x2 ($1000)
Redirector x2 ($1000)
Conspiracy Theorist x2 ($2000)
Party Host x1 ($3000)
Mind Control x1 ($4000)
Birthday Cake x1 ($9999)
Another example might look like this:
Firefighter x2 ($500)
Spec Question x2 ($1000)
Switcher x2 ($3000)
Tracker x2 ($3000)
Mind Control x1 ($4000)
Lie Detector x1 ($5000)
Time Rewind x1 ($5000)

As for the idea about Mafia Items, something just came to my mind about that, and also something to mess with Town too.

So first, yeah maybe I could have like an Evil Item Store or something that is only available in Mafia Chat that has some good items for them to buy? It would basically be a mini version of the current rotating item store, maybe just like 2 tiers or something, but it would give Mafia the choice of where they want to spend their Don Bucks.

Then, instead of the Backdoor Shady Dealer working how they currently do, they could instead maybe add one of their items into the main Item Store each day, overriding a random item. They would only be able to add one of each item on their list per day, so once they run out of items they can't add anymore. It wouldn't be a guarantee that someone buys it, but if it ends up replacing a cheap one or if the fake name of it entices someone into buying it, it would totally work and fuck with Town in a less obvious way I think.

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
Yes, I love that idea. Makes the shady dealer work so much better and makes it much more likely their items get purchased. A+ idea. Maybe have the shady dealer have their list of items and what the effects and price would be and they pick which to override into the store and it replaces an item of that slot.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Yeah, I like that about giving their items a price so they can slot it into the right tier, that makes sense.

I'll go ahead and work on the new Scum roles next then with that in mind, as well as the Mafia item store.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Betting Champion
Godfather/Join any Bet. Probably fine as is?

Backdoor Shady Dealer

Can place one of their items into the corresponding price tier of the Item Store the next day. Only has one of each item.
Items available:
Hated (Box of Chocolates) - $500 Tier 1
Universal Miller (Fancy Hat) - $1000 Tier 1
Insane Cop (Strawberry Ice Cream) - $3000 Tier 2
Vanillaizer (Ray Gun) - $4000 Tier 3
Bomb (Chocolate Cake) - $5000 Tier 4

Easy Update Host

Is now also a Ninja in addition to deploying the Easy Update Event.

Odd RB/Even Strong

Probably fine as is?

Mafia Backup
Is a Nexus until receiving their new role (passively redirects any actions on them to a random player, except kills)

Let me know what you think with this now, I think these changes plus the addition of the below items for only the Mafia to buy should increase their strength quite a bit.

As for ideas for items to put in the Mafia Store, this is what I have for now without organizing or pricing anything yet:
Item Steal (Steals an item from a player if they have one)
Vote Steal (Steals a player's vote from them for a day)
Framer (Make target show as Mafia to a Cop)
Lawyer (Make target show as Town to a Cop)
Role Hypnotist (Target has to say the name of their role the next day)
Janitor (Target's role won't be revealed when killed)
Tailor (Rewrite own Role PM, alignment will still show as Mafia when they flip but the role can say whatever they want it to say)

I think that's a decent Item Store for the Mafia? Could make it 2 of the first 4, and then 1 of the last 3 for the rotation just off the top of my head.

Maybe these should be one-time-only purchases as well? So the items won't restock at all, once someone buys the Vote Steal, for example, it won't appear again in future item lists for them.

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
I think these changes are good. I’ll try and look back for my math on the economy and bump that up against the new item lists as well to see how that all looks. Ideally there wouldn’t be enough money to buy literally everything, but you want enough to buy probably like 75% or so and you make the math fit by adjusting quantities most likely.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
I could also add another investigation shot for the Mafia too, like a Watcher maybe. The Role Hypnotist is basically just a fancy Role Cop shot, but a Watcher shot would help them big too.

New changes sound good, seems balanced enough to me. I'm not sure about the item steal mafia item though, sounds a bit OP but it's up to you, maybe if it's expensive?

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Yeah, I'll keep the Item Steal as a more expensive one, plus I do think I'll make the Mafia Store have just one of each item, so they'd only be able to do one steal in the game and it would cost a good amount of Don Bucks.

------

I'm wondering if I should just have the full Evil Item list available to the Mafia at all times, and if I should let them know straight up what the items do. I think that's how I'm leaning for now, have the normal Item Store with nicknames for all the items and the rotation RNG thing, and then the Mafia Store is just a static list of items that tell them straight up what they do. Since there are less items for them, the supplies are limited, and they are meant to be boosts for them, I think it's more balanced for them to just have that knowledge of their own store up front.

As for prices on the Mafia Store, I'm not totally sure how I want to do that yet, but I at least have this for a rough draft:
Lawyer - $1000
Vote Steal - $1500
Role Hypnotist - $2500
Framer
- $3500
Item Steal - $5000
Janitor - $6000
Tailor - $7000

I feel like the cheaper ones would help them more in the early game, whereas the expensive ones would help them more later on and are also a bit more disruptive/bastard overall.

Also, I'll probably have to put some sort of "Can't use this in LyLo" tag on the Vote Steal, right? Or maybe find something to replace that with so I don't have to worry about it?

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
Do the Lawyer and Framer work just on the night activated or is that a game long change?

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
I could see them being combined into one item that will force a user to return the opposite alignment when checked that night. As is there's not a great chance you pick right anyways.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
I could do that yeah. I was going to look for some other Scummy roles anyway, I think I want to swap the Vote Steal with something else, and then I could find another new one too.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
So for some different Mafia items:

Framer/Lawyer -> Single item, target will show opposite alignment to a Cop on the night it is used. (Town will show as Not Town, Mafia or Neutral will show as Town)
Vote Steal -> Watcher, learn who visited their target at night, but not what actions were performed on them.

Also, let me know what you think about this role: https://www.mafiauniverse.com/wiki/Taxi_Driver
The Taxi Driver may each night target two players and cause their night actions, if they have any, to be transferred to and automatically used by the other player on that same night.
Essentially, if I was a Cop and targeted Melon on N1, Natiko was a Doctor and targeted Geno on N1, and Sorian was a Taxi Driver and targeted me and Natiko, then I would protect Geno and Natiko would investigate and receive results on Melon.

It could lead to even more chaotic night results for Town, and/or could be used to frame someone for a kill to a Tracker if it was used on a partner, plus there are a few redirect items in the normal item store already, so this would be a Mafia exclusive one.

The full Mafia item list would probably look like this now:
Opposite Alignment - $1000
Role Hypnotist - $2000
Taxi Driver - $3000
Watcher
- $4000
Item Steal - $5000
Janitor - $6000
Tailor - $7000

I'm kind of basing the prices on equivalent items power-wise in the normal item store, but also just made it linear with $1000 increments and it seems fine like that to me at least.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Also, I'll go ahead and make a full list now of the order of night actions for all the roles and items, since that will obviously need to be done at some point:

This should be everything, go ahead and correct me if I got something wrong:
HIDE
Commuter
SWITCH
Switcher
Taxi Driver
BLOCK
Mafia RB
Hype Master RB
REDIRECT
Randomizer
Redirector
Mind Control
PROTECT
Amateur Doctor
Poison Doctor
MISCELLANEOUS

Fanto

Confirmed Town
I'm down to talk about whatever still as far as balance concerns or the economy or anything else.

In the mean time, I'll work on getting flavor names finalized for all of the items and figuring out the trivia question stuff a bit more.

I might give the events another pass as well and make sure that's all in order still.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
I'll get back into things this weekend again, I ended up being out and about a lot this week, going out again today, and also just bought Gran Turismo Sport on the PlayStation sale so my attention has been elsewhere lol.

Like I said above though, I'll get flavor names down for all the items, figure out for sure how the trivia questions will work, and then go over the events again to see if I want to alter anything based on the recent changes.

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
I've been pretty busy as well so apologies. I'll try and read through the updates and respond to anything I need to soon.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Here's what I have for now for the item flavor names. I used this website to brainstorm names plus added a few of my own.
Firefighter - Water Bottle
Randomizer - Dice
Messenger - Pencil
Poison Doctor - Soda
Spec Question - Radio
BP Vest - Sweater
Redirector - Mirror
Conspiracy Theorist - Rubber Duck
Switcher - Post-It Notes
Tracker - USB Drive
Party Host - Beer Keg
Amnesiac Cop - Camera
Mind Control - Cool Helmet
Lie Detector - Computer
Commuter - Keys
Time Rewind - Fancy Watch
Vigilante - Box of Flowers
Choice of Power - Birthday Cake

Next up I'll dive into the Trivia Questions event and figure out how that will work for sure. There are a few ways I can think of to go about it, so I'll work on putting together a full idea for that next.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Ok, so this is what I had down first for a rough draft of the Trivia Questions event:
Then for an outline for the trivia questions, something like this would probably work:

Easy Questions ($250):
1.
2.
3.

Medium Questions ($500):
1.
2.
3.

Hard Questions ($1000):
1.
2.
3.

So it would be $5250 total in prize money being given out.

Then for the new Easy Update effect with the Trick Questions, I think 5 questions each worth $1000 Don Bucks should work.
This should work fine still, but the real goal is to figure out how I want to deploy the questions in the thread.

I could just ask them at random moments throughout the day and whoever responds with the correct answer first wins the money. That was my initial idea, but it's kind of boring.

However, I could also switch things up to be more like the Mysterious Monsters show, where maybe a player would pick a question Jeopardy-style based on how much money it's worth, and then everyone has a chance to be the first to answer, with the winner getting to pick the next question.

If I take the latter route, I would probably switch it up so that instead of 3 tiers of difficulty, it would be 3 different categories with a $250, $500, and $1000 question in each one. Or maybe even add some more questions to flesh it out a bit more and add more total Don Bucks to the event.

I think I've talked myself into doing the second idea, so I'll work on getting a post made up to explain all of that properly, as well as figuring out the categories and the questions too.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Also, I would do it so that they are only answering a few questions in a row at a time, it wouldn't just all go out right from the start. So if it's 9 questions, I'd do 3 at a time in 3 total sessions during the day.

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
I think those ideas (categories of three questions at different values split into three offerings) make sense. What happens if they turbo?

Fanto

Confirmed Town
If they turbo then they miss out on the event I suppose, so that would be on them. I could continue it during the night phase and only let them respond with answers to the questions, but I think I'd rather keep it up to them if they want to play through all the trivia or turbo instead.

Fanto

Sorry I haven't been working on this again, my mind's been elsewhere lately.

I will get some more things put together probably on Sunday since I'll be busy tomorrow.

I'll maybe just put together a full recap of the game after I get the trivia event done so we can all see what it looks like as a full thing again and see what else needs to be done still.

Ok, it's been a month lol, I think I should prooooobably start working on this again, I'd like to finish this as soon as possible.

It looks like I was going to put together the trivia event next, so I'll try to get that done by this weekend.

After that, I'll make a post that gives an overview of where we are now so you guys can go over things and give any more feedback.

Sorry for taking such an extended break on this, my mind has just been all over the place this last month.

So this is what I'm thinking for the categories:
  • Easy Allies
    • $500 -
    • $750 -
    • $1000 -
  • Video Games
    • $500 -
    • $750 -
    • $1000 -
  • MafiEra History
    • $500 -
    • $750 -
    • $1000 -
I would want some help coming up with MafiEra history questions for sure, since my own history only dates back 2 years.

I'll get started on filling out the questions next. I'd appreciate help with the other questions as well if you have any ideas for good ones, my only criteria is that I want to think of questions that you can't just literally copy/paste into Google and find the answer immediately.

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
MafiEra History - will you want to keep it to games that occurred in the 'Era' err..era? Since to answer any further back they would either need to be familiar with the game/player data spreadsheets or alternatively have to visit a real turd of a website.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Yeah, keeping it to the Era era is probably a good call. I'd still be missing around a year's worth from my own experience, so maybe if you want to help come up with one from before I started playing I could come up with the other two.

In the first Mafia game on ResetERA, which player recorded a video discussing their night action decision during the final night? What was their role?

Answer:
SaucyKaz, the Switcher

Still to this day one of the best games ran on Era with some of the best moments. What a delight it was to spectate, one of my biggest regrets sign-up wise was not getting in on this one.

Lol I remember that one too. Fun game. You could ask I guess how many games have been run on ResetEra or something.

Hello! I have returned, and with some Trivia Questions finally!!

Here's what I have for now.

Easy Allies
$500 - How many episodes of the Easy Allies podcast were there as of May 12, 2020?
- Answer: 213
$750 - What is the name of the horse that Don races in the first episode of The Busted Trifecta?
- Answer: Rigid Mind
$1000 - In the Easy Allies Launch Marathon, what name and picture was given to the Boardwalk in Monopoly?
- Answer: The Goddess, Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII

Video Games

$500 - Pokemon Question
$750 - Shenmue Question
$1000 - Mega Man Legends Question

MafiEra History

$500 - How many Mafia games have been run on ResetEra?
- Answer: TBD (will fill in when the game runs so it's up to date)
$750 - What was weemadarthur's alignment in Heroes vs. Villains 2?
- Answer: Town (but she flipped as Scum lolol)
$1000 - In the first Mafia game on ResetERA, which player recorded a video discussing their night action decision during the final night? What was their role?
- Answer: SaucyKaz, the Switcher

As you can see, the video game questions are just placeholders for now, based on games that are popular among the Allies for various reasons. If you have ideas for those questions, feel free to chime in, otherwise I'll finish those on my own next.

I'll come back soon with a big recap post to get us all up to speed on where the game is now as a whole as well.

Fanto

Video Games
$500 - Pokemon Question: Psyduck + Gengar = ?
- Answer: Dragonair (Pokedex #54 (Psyduck) + Pokedex #94 (Gengar) = Pokedex #148 (Dragonair)
$750 - Shenmue Question: How many bars are in Dobuita, and where would you find sailors?
- Answer: 6, Heartbeats Bar
$1000 - Mega Man Legends Question:
- Answer:

I figure I'll let people know the game for each of these questions before they select one too, just to make it a bit more transparent since Video Games is a very general category so people might not know what to expect.

I'll think more on the Mega Man Legends one, or maybe reach out to someone who knows the game better than me. The other questions should be fine though for their difficulty tiers.

-----

Tomorrow I will make a big post recapping everything we have so far to remind us all what's going on in this game, and then see what you both think of everything again.

Thanks for being patient with this review so far, I know I've taken a lot of breaks during it.

There will also be a secret item store from which only the Mafia can purchase items.
  • Betting
    • Players can also win or lose Don Bucks by placing Bets with each other over game-related things. Players may only place one bet with one other player each day, and they can last for any length of time, though they can cancel a bet at any time as well.
  • Events
    • Each of the first 5 days will have a scheduled Event that will take place which alters the game in some way or provides players with mini-games to play and earn Don Bucks.
The Item Store is based on a rotating set of items that are grouped together in tiers based on price and quantity.
  • 2 of 5 ($500-$1000): Firefighter/Randomizer/Messenger/Poison Doctor/Spec Question
  • 2 of 5 ($1000-$3000): BP Vest/Redirector/Conspiracy Theorist/Switcher/Tracker
  • 2 of 5 ($3000-$5000): Party Host/Amnesiac Cop/Mind Control/Lie Detector/Commuter
  • 1 of 3 ($5000-$9999): Time Rewind/Vigilante/Birthday Cake
The Mafia Item Store is just a simple list of items:
Opposite Alignment - $1000
Role Hypnotist - $2000
Taxi Driver - $3000
Watcher - $4000
Item Steal - $5000
Janitor - $6000
Tailor - $7000
A full list of Items, Mechanics, and Events in the game can be seen in the spreadsheet at the bottom of this post.

If they choose, they can submit the command "Huber's Axe: <Player Name>" at night to Roleblock their target.
      • Can also secretly join any bets that are placed and win/lose Don Bucks accordingly by submitting the command "I'll Take That Bet: <Player Name>" to the Gamerunner.
      • Also a Godfather
    • Backdoor Shady Dealer (Brand Manager)
      • Can submit the command "Shady Deal: <Item Name>" to the Gamerunner to insert a fake item from their list (see spreadsheet) into the Item Store for the next day. Receives any Don Bucks spent by that player.
    • 1-Shot Easy Update Host (Rainy Day Ian)
      • Can submit the command "Easy Update" at night, overriding the next scheduled event with Easy Update, pushing the scheduled event back a day.
      • Also a Ninja.
    • Odd-Night Roleblocker / Even-Night Strongman (Cold Blooded)
      • Can submit the command "Block: <Player Name>" to Roleblock a player on Odd Nights.
      • Can submit the command "Strong Kill: <Player Name>" to modify the normal faction kill with a Strong Kill on Even Nights.
    • Mafia Nexus/Backup (Benzilla)
      • Will passively redirect any actions targeting them to a random player, except kills.
      • When the first Mafia player dies, they lose their Nexus ability and instead gain that player's role. Will not gain any extra shots of their role.

Some of the events have been changed, so make sure to check those out on the spreadsheet. I completely reworked the Easy Update event again for example, and added/changed a couple things elsewhere too.

I don't remember if I said this but Bosman's role does seem a bit OP, they can basically make a stupidly outlandish bet like "LP will have the most posts by day end" with like 3000 don bucks bet and win because of the role, on top of that they have the second part of the role. I think limiting the amount of don bucks you can cheat on would be good, like a cap of bets of 1000?

I could just ditch the Betting Cheat part entirely actually. That was an old idea, and then the Duelist idea came up and it just kind of got bolted onto the existing role because I still liked the flavor idea of Bosman cheating to win a bet lol.

That's fine too, I'm waiting for Natiko to give his current thoughts and then we can finalize the review and get this in the schedule soon

So one thing that is kind of jumping out at me when I look at my Mafia roles now, is how the Backup will work in reality.

Like, a lot of the Mafia roles involve fooling Town or surprising them, like with Easy Update or the Backdoor Shady Dealer.

If the Easy Update Host or the Backdoor Shady Dealer were to flip, Town would see their role PM, they would see all the Shady Dealer's items, and they would see what Easy Update does.

If the Backup were to then inherit one of those roles from them, the surprise is completely lost on Town now, they are aware of the trick that the Mafia was able to play on them.

So I guess what I'm saying is, I should get rid of the Mafia Backup, shouldn't I?

There's ways to work around that but we might need to go into bastard territory lol, you can make the backup inherit town roles though, that's certainly 1 way to fool town lol.

I could just be selective with it, make them a Backup only for the Betting Champion and the RB/Strong. Those would both be ways where a Backup taking on that role would continue to fool Town, since they would think there was only one Godfather and that the RB/Strong is gone for good. With them being a Nexus until then, they are basically the ultimate middle finger to the Town team that the Mafia has lol.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
And then I could just redact the roles that they can inherit in their PM if they should flip first, I'm pretty sure I remember someone doing that with a Mafia Backup in a game here in the past.

  • Nexus is already pretty strong, you could probably just drop the backup if you weren't loving how it works
  • Does the D1 event result in a lynch and a NK immune person?
  • If the Hall of Greats and Easy Update events happen back to back I promise you people will gripe - I learned this from too many 'non standard' days in a row in Game of Thrones
  • Will players know the Box Peek end day event before it is reached?

  • Will players know the Box Peek end day event before it is reached?
  • I'd be cool with doing that, yeah.
  • Yes, normal "Vote: <Player Name>" votes will be for the lynch, but I'll also have them submit "Pop-Tart: <Player Name>" during the day to vote for the person who will be immune to kills for the next night. I'm fine with hand-counting those (or writing a Python script to do it for me lol).
  • Hmm... I've got some thoughts on this. I'm wondering if maybe I should change Hall of Greats to something else, and add the Thunderdome of highest post-counts to Easy Update instead for more chaos on that day. One of the games they sometimes play in Easy Update videos is called "Kill Your Babies" where they have to choose a video game to be removed from existence in favor of another one, which would line up with the flavor of the highest post counts being in a Thunderdome. If we're cool with that, then I can think up a different way for Hall of Greats to work, probably something a bit more pro-Town than it was before.
  • Yes, it will be explained at the start of the day. My overall vision right now for events is that they will all be clearly labeled on a schedule at the start of the game (except Easy Update), but no details are given about what they do until the day of the event.

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
Yeah, I think making that tweak to the events would be good just to avoid making players too salty. I know Geno expressed concerns about the bet cheat but I'm indifferent. It's 1-shot, and anyone making a super obvious trap bet like that deserves the money if someone falls for it lol I can get why it would suck for the player that falls into the trap though.

I think the game is probably pretty close. Need to do math to make sure it can't end too fast, otherwise it's probably pretty solid. It doesn't seem too broken in any specific way, though I'll put out the caveat that any game with this many moving pieces is hard to nail balance wise. You just make sure nothing seems overly fucked and hope for the best lol

Fanto

Confirmed Town
One thing I'm trying to figure out now is just like, making sure there's enough ways for Don Bucks to be earned via events instead of just through bets.

Right now, the main source of Don Bucks will be from the Trivia event, otherwise it's mainly through bets, which probably isn't good for the Don Buck economy.

Ideally, I'd like to add some more ways to earn Don Bucks in other events as well.

On Box Peek day, for example, I could allow people to place a free bet for the winner of the Box Peek event at the end of the day, where they'll win like 1000 Don Bucks or something if they get it right, and lose nothing if they're wrong.

I need a new event idea as well to take the place of Hall of Greats, and I'd kind of like it to involve a way to earn Don Bucks too.

A day full of mini games is always a possibility here. I could bring back Geno's "Guess That Character" from HvV2 for example, stuff like that.

I think I'll also need to bring down the cost of some items maybe? I feel like some of them are just plain unobtainable right now, so that's something that might need to be tweaked again one last time.

Otherwise yeah, I think I'm pretty comfortable with it. I know it's going to be ridiculous no matter what, but I agree that it seems about as balanced as it can be for what it is lol.

If I learned anything from guess that character is that you need to dig real deep to find someone that people struggle to find, I'm talking satellaview kind of obscure.

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
You can also reduce the cost of items to a degree to help balance that

Fanto

Confirmed Town
  • 2 of 5 ($500-$1000): Firefighter/Randomizer/Messenger/Poison Doctor/Spec Question
  • 2 of 5 ($1500-$2500): BP Vest/Redirector/Conspiracy Theorist/Switcher/Tracker
  • 2 of 5 ($3000-$4000): Party Host/Amnesiac Cop/Mind Control/Lie Detector/Commuter
  • 1 of 3 ($5000-$6000): Time Rewind/Vigilante/Birthday Cake

Opposite Alignment - $1000
Role Hypnotist - $1500
Taxi Driver - $2000
Watcher - $3000
Item Steal - $4000
Janitor - $5000
Tailor - $6000
I think these new item prices better reflect the Don Buck economy, with or without another event that gives out a bunch. At the absolute best, someone like Don or the Betting Champion could have enough to buy a top-tier item on D2, assuming they win their D1 bets, but that's kind of the point of their roles, to make more Don Bucks than others.

There is the deal with the Duelist though, where the winner will get an item of their choosing from the store, which could result in someone getting a top-tier item on D1. I think I want to alter this role a bit again, it just feels weird to me right now. I think the reward for using it feels weird, and being only one-shot but not really all that powerful is weird. Best I can see, the plan would be to use it on a Town read so either you or them get an item regardless of who wins the mini-game. Ok, fair enough, but it feels like it's just going to be fired and forgotten about on D1 so they can have a chance at getting a powerful item right away.

Maybe I'm just tired and overthinking things, but I might want to revisit that role again quick too.

And just so I don't forget before I go to bed, I'm floating around an idea in my head about like, players having a Don Buck allowance? Where maybe each day they'll automatically earn like $500 or something, that way even people who aren't winning bets or events are still able to slowly gain Don Bucks, and the ability to buy items will still be around in later days once the events are over and there are less players alive. The Neutral would not receive the allowance.

I keep thinking I'm almost done with the game, but there keeps being that one last thing that pops in my head when I look at it again lol. I'll have everything I'm talking about figured out by the weekend at the latest though, I am very focused on finishing this thing finally lol.

To recap, the things I need to do still are:
  1. New event to replace Hall of Greats.
  2. Give the Duelist role another look.
  3. Don Buck allowance?

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
I think an allowance might make sense, or maybe certain events have the injection of bucks for everyone as opposed to it being literally every day.

Fanto

Confirmed Town
Ok, it's 3:30 AM right now, best time for ideas.

So, let's talk this out with myself. What's something that could happen for an event? What are some things that happen in Mafia games?

Ok, I know this is likely a total groan from the Outer Mafia setup crew's point of view, but for real, the Love Boat day in MafiEra was so fucking fun. Can I do one of those? Where everyone gets randomly paired up with each other in a chat for the day/night? The Lovers themselves would always get paired together if they're still alive, but everyone else would be randomly sorted together. The players won't die together though if one of them dies or gets voted out during the day. If there's an odd number of players alive, then maybe put together one 3-way chat.

This can also be a "Don Buck Allowance" type of day then, to go off what you were saying above, where everyone automatically gets like $500 Don Bucks or something too. I feel like this should exclude the Neutral though? It would just feel weird to give them freebie money like that when it goes towards their win con.

-------

Now, what's next on the list? 4:00 AM now, I can keep going.

Give the Duelist role another look.

Welp, I've already got an idea for it, and I love it.

The Duelist is no longer 1-shot, and it no longer rewards an item from the item store. It is now infinite shot, and it rewards the winner with $500 Don Bucks.

Easy.

-------

What's next?

The Don Buck Allowance.

So, yeah, I like the idea of certain events injecting Don Bucks instead. As I mentioned above, this new Love-Boat-esque day can just shower everyone in some Don Bucks too.

So for the events, we have:
Easy Allies Podcast - No need to add free Don Bucks on D1 I don't think.
Mysterious Monsters - Trivia Questions reward Don Bucks
New Event (Currently just going with Huber Syndrome) - Love Boat + Don Buck Allowance Day
Don's Discount Gaming (formerly called Huber Syndrome)- All items in the store are half-off and bets pay out double. No need to inject Don Bucks here.
Box Peek - I could maybe do a Don Buck Allowance here too, not sure if I should mix that with my other idea of giving everyone a free bet at EoD or not though.

I think that makes me feel a bit better about the Don Buck Economy, just adding some more ways for Don Bucks to show up in players' wallets.

-------

There, I think that covers everything I wanted to look at for now, let me know what you think of the new event and the new Duelist, and any thoughts on the Don Buck Economy in general, which is something I'm probably always going to be nervous about lol.

Fanto

Just some simple turn-based games, or card games like Geno did in HvV 2. So stuff like Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect 4, Blackjack, Poker, etc. I'll maybe put together a list of 6 of them and then just "roll a dice" to figure out which one they'll play when they use it. I'll include all of that info about the games and the random selection for them in the Role PM too.

Yeah I think you should start making PM's to get fully approved
Yeah, I'll get the spreadsheet updated, and then update/repost my big "overview" post one last time just so those are finalized. I'll try to collect all the relevant info/rules about the mechanics that we went over months ago too just so that's all collated in one spot for posterity. • They have a private chat together, but will also die together if one of them dies.

Here are some Role PMs that I just whipped up:

The basic format for Town PMs is:
Hello and welcome to Easy Allies Mafia! I am your moderator, Fanto, and joining us today is…

<Flavor Name>

You are a <Role> and are aligned with the Easy Allies (Town).

<Role Description>

You also have $1500 Don Bucks! If you would like to spend your Don Bucks on an item from the store, send the command “Purchase: <Item Name>” via PM. The price of the item will be deducted from your total Don Bucks, and you will then receive the item, along with a description of what it does and how to use it.

The game thread is here: <Link to game thread>

You win the game when all threats to Town have been eliminated!

And the basic format for Mafia PMs is:
Hello and welcome to Easy Allies Mafia! I am your moderator, Fanto, and joining us today is…

<Flavor Name>

You are a <Role> and are aligned with the CHIM (Mafia).

<Role Description>

You also have $1500 Don Bucks! If you would like to spend your Don Bucks on an item from the store, send the command “Purchase: <Item Name>” via PM. The price of the item will be deducted from your total Don Bucks, and you will then receive the item, along with a description of what it does and how to use it.

The Mafia thread (and a list of your teammates) is here: <Link to mafia thread>

The game thread is here: <Link to game thread>

You win the game when the Mafia obtains a majority or nothing can prevent this from occurring.
And then here's the Neutral's PM:
Hello and welcome to Easy Allies Mafia! I am your moderator, Fanto, and joining us today is…

Elyse Willems!

You are a Don Buck Thief and are aligned with no one (Neutral).

Unlike the other players, you will begin the game with 0 Don Bucks, and will not be eligible to receive any free Don Bucks from the moderator.

At night, you may submit the command “Steal: <Player Name>” to attempt to steal up to $1000 Don Bucks from that player to add to your total.

The game thread is here: <Link to game thread>

You win the game when you have $5000 or more total Don Bucks.

Oh, I should probably edit in the bit about how to buy items into the Neutral's PM too, I'll do that quick.

The role PMs look good to me! Can you share how you’ll explain the rules for the betting in the OP?

I’m mulling the balance over and part of me wants to say to bump the cost of the cop check up and make the roleblock part of the gossip cost money as well. Those powers seem pretty strong all told especially in comparison to what you can buy at the low tiers. @Geno what do you think?

Other than seeing the betting rules laid out and the potential tweaks just mentioned I’m good

Oh I lied there’s one other very important thing missing - an order of operations that includes every possible item

I put one of these together like a month ago I think, I'll find the post quick:
Also, I'll go ahead and make a full list now of the order of night actions for all the roles and items, since that will obviously need to be done at some point:

This should be everything, go ahead and correct me if I got something wrong:
HIDE
Commuter
SWITCH
Switcher
Taxi Driver
BLOCK
Mafia RB
Hype Master RB
REDIRECT
Randomizer
Redirector
Mind Control
PROTECT
Amateur Doctor
Poison Doctor
MISCELLANEOUS
Opposite Alignment
Role Hypnotist
Item Steal
Janitor
Tailor
Backdoor Shady Dealer
Easy Update Host
Firefighter
Messenger
Spec Question
Lie Detector
Weekend Update Host Check
Dog Investigator
Don Buck Thief
KILL
Mafia Kill
Vigilante
INSPECT
Amateur Sleuth
Conspiracy Theorist
Amnesiac Cop
Tracker
Watcher
Can you share how you’ll explain the rules for the betting in the OP?
Yes, I'll actually probably go ahead and type up how the "Game Specific Rules" section of the OP will look. That's where I'll include all the information about the unique mechanics like betting and the events. I'll make another post with all of that in it.

I'm definitely down with that change, yeah. Do you think bumping it up to $1000 for the roles that use Don Bucks would make sense? So that would be the Cop and the Doctor, and then add the Gossip's RB as well? They could get one shot off then with their starting cash, but would need to earn more Don Bucks to use it again.

I'm also considering dropping the price on some of the middle tier items now that you mention it too. Those are the ones I want most people to be aiming for, but they might be a bit out of reach, thinking of the ones in the $3000-$4000 tier. I might go ahead and drop that down to $2500-$3500, and then make the final tier like $4000-$6000 instead.

Game Specific Rules:
  • Don Bucks
    • Don Bucks are a form of currency in the game.
    • You may earn Don Bucks throughout the course of the game in various ways.
    • You may spend your Don Bucks in the Item Store, or to place bets with other players.
  • Item Store
    • An Item Store is available for you during the day to purchase items with your Don Bucks.
    • Random items will be available each day in various quantities and prices.
    • You will be notified if an item you attempt to purchase has gone out of stock.
  • Betting
    • You can place bets with your fellow players over game-related things and win/lose Don Bucks accordingly.
    • To initiate a bet with another player, enter the command "Bet <Player Name>: X, Y" in the game thread, where X is the amount of the bet, and Y is the thing on which you are betting.
    • For example: "Bet Melonrabbit: $1000, LP makes less than 10 posts today"
    • The other player may accept the bet with "Bet <Player Name> Accepted" as long as they have enough Don Bucks to do so, at which point the bet is locked in.
    • To cancel a bet, both players must enter the command "Bet <Player Name> Cancelled" in the game thread.
    • Each player may only have one active bet at a time. A bet must be completed, cancelled, or ended early due to death before placing or accepting another bet.
    • Bets may only concern game-related things and must take place in the game thread. Players can not "dare" each other into breaking the rules of the game or the forum, such bets will not be allowed to be made.
  • Events
    • Each of the first 5 days has a scheduled event that will take place on that day.
      • Day 1: Easy Allies Podcast
      • Day 2: Mysterious Monsters
      • Day 3: Huber Syndrome
      • Day 4: Don's Discount Gaming
      • Day 5: Box Peek
    • Events will be explained at the start of the day on which they take place.

I realize the Betting section is pretty wordy, but I think that covers everything we went over way back at the start of the review process.

Will the actions in the same tiers generally resolve simultaneously? For example if Player A roleblocks Player B who roleblocks Player C - will both Player B and Player C end up roleblocked or just Player B?

I think Doctor can stay at $500 since it doesn’t out scum, it just confirms town. The other two are probably best at $1000.

I think I’d be fine with tiers of:

$500-$1000
$1500-$2000
$2500-$3500
$4000-$5000

To balance that out for Mafia something like:

Opposite Alignment - $500
Role Hypnotist - $1000
Taxi Driver - $1500
Watcher - $2000
Item Steal - $2500
Janitor - $4000
Tailor - $5000

The shady dealer is probably fine as is.

Any vote that does not include a rhyme will not be officially counted.

This day phase will not end until a majority vote is reached.

Majority is X.

Last couple of things. Is a minute window too demanding for a game of mafia? What happens if the pop tart vote ties?

Is a minute window too demanding for a game of mafia?
This is something I've gone back and forth with in my mind. It's tough for me to figure out what the right amount of time should be.

Something like 3 minutes maybe? I hesitate to make it too long because if someone is watching the thread like a hawk it would be easy for them to counter quickly, but there's a lot of different ways this ridiculous little mini-game can play out so I tend to overthink it a lot lol.
What happens if the pop tart vote ties?
I suppose I'd just randomize it between the tied players. I'll make sure to mention that.

Natiko

Town's Friendly Neighborhood Serial Killer
it’s up to you - ultimately since both players have the option to initiate it’s up to them to decide how they approach it. If you think a minute is best leave it, if you think it’s too stringent bump it up to two or three. I’m fine either way.

Game is approved on my end.
