I honestly think when scum has something to figure out - cults, arsonists, the pairs here, any kind of mystery mechanic - they have a higher automatic chance. Scum team here really capitalized on it but having something to do that you don't have to fake gives such an edge.

Getting a kill shot reflected back at them sure... but not a redirect. As for his comparison with self voting, that is an extremely different beast and is allowed mostly because a player directly chooses to vote themselves anyway.
