Last team standing but it's going to be a little fluid where that point is reached due to the alternating kills. If we get to a point where its 1v1 then I'm ripping off Fanto's peek "game" between malus and I for the win.

It's like that game with the arsonist (Kingkitty) where all the mods posted fire puns in the thread before it lit up.
Yep I love it. I also loved Sawneek's reality tearing comments and just everyone playing along with their flip when they died.

Nope, everyone was randomized a fake role at the start of the game but they have no idea what the role is. Also the safe claim flavor names they were given do not match any of the fake flavor role names.

A lovely graphic was posted in our chat asking for guidance -- but IMO my teammate(s) is/are doing great! If they had complete information they would be killing it, but as it is I don't even know how close they are. There could be full 4-player teams remaining.

Really hope the rest of Team Thorny doesn’t take this too hard if they lose, because they’re both doing real good. They just don’t know the actual situation they’re in, but based on what they think is the case, they’re playing really well!

We did talk about it when it came up. We decided that with it being public and him having to deal with any game fallout it was ok. Plus it appears as if there has been prior precedent with polls being allowed in the past. If we had decided it crossed the line I would have had him edit the post to remove the poll, I would not have modkilled him for it. I do think it might be something that we should bring up in the review thread at the end of the season.

That example is literally discussing outside the game (and scum) thread. Rac's poll was public in the game thread, there is a distinction there. I asked players in spec not to vote in it and I believe this community knows well enough not to interfere with an ongoing game, it's easy for one active person to vote more than once using two devices.
After catching up in this thread, my blind reads are still valid.

I don't agree. It doesn't matter that Rac poll was in the thread, he shouldn't have made it when he couldn't control who was voting. And it shouldn't be allowed when the gamerunner can't check that all the votes come from players currently in the game.

I disagree re: the poll. I think the poll is fine; there's no way to know where any votes come from and the use of it also had consequences. I think there's a difference between real info and something anonymous and spammable. I think if we ban things like the poll, then using things like spreadsheets or whatever also get sketchy and that's not a road I want to go down.
I do think it's skirting close to a line and I understand the concern. But I think it's a balance between fun and choices and things that can actually impact the game. In this case, that tool only has the impact it's given. No one knows anything about the votes, so they are meaningless until given meaning, really. But I think it's something that should go on the list for review thread, because there may be some harder lines we want to draw. I think if that's a question the community wants to take up, we can do it together.

I don't think the poll breaks the "no external discussion" rule. It's external, yes, but it doesn't affect the game. It's non binding, anonymous, and public. The rule is more for, say, PMs with another player.
However I don't think that is something that should be done again. If you want to poll your fellow players, do it in the game thread. Plus as the poll creator, rac has an advantage in that he controls the poll contents and can see voting activity while others can't.

as for the content part, yeah i guess that's partly true but i control the content of what i post anyways and it's not like i forced anyone to engage with me or the poll
even so if it diminished anyone's enjoyment of the game i apologize
