Hi! Feel free to ask any questions about the game in here by the way, I'm sure all of us would be more than happy to answer.
It's fun seeing so many new faces recently, I think it was Saenima who had fun spectating the last game and is now playing in his first one this time.
Hopefully you enjoy watching the games! It can get pretty wild both in the game threads and in here haha.

I tried making some guesses, but I have no idea honestly.
My best guess is that the Green Room is something like Cthulhu was in MafiEra with a post count limit. But then there are others that say something about "the voices" too, so I have no clue what that actually means yet lol.
We did wipe the floor with them.

Also, we can talk about any aspect of the current games in this thread, right? Since it seems like only admins and spectators can access it.

Yep, this thread is basically just for us to chat with each other about the games while they're going on, we can talk about any aspect. After a player dies they can join in here too so it will gradually start to fill up over time. Or in this case since there is another game running concurrently, they'll also have the option to join the replacement list for that game too.
This is going to be great fun to watch :D.

Side note: WSD is my secret favorite new player because he has Sophia as his mentor, and she was my mentor, so I am excited to see a new player under the tutelage of Sophia since she literally taught me how to play the game, and in my opinion, she did a pretty good job of it. :)

Like, with this:
I understand what he means I think, but if I were playing, I'd quote that and say "Stuart, the room descriptions are all given in riddles, how could they do exactly what they say?" And then I'd vote for him lol.
if you speak with him for any length of time, he'll often say "If you understand what I mean" or something similar. I do it sometimes as well but he does it a lot lol.

I think I'd be petitioning Town to vote for one of the rooms that has the "voices" description, since that could help them figure out what all of those do better once they learn what "voices" means in the context of the riddles.
I think I saw one person mention this early, but no one else has brought it up again I don't think.

I'm just reading some of the stuff from the Mansion thread and I've got a bunch of questions already!;
-So, given Brazil's counter, each day phase takes 3 hours? What's the meaning of "Phase lengths: 48/24"? My bad!
- What do you all mean by "cult" (in the context of the game ofc)? Best guess is an old mechanic.
- Is "scum" your word for mafia members? So... mean (but in good fun I guess).
- I believe I didn't spot this in the rules, but do you use extra roles like doctors?

1. Each day phase is 48 hours and each night phase is 24. This is the counter you should be looking at, posted here.
2. Yes, a cult is a third faction that typically starts with few members and can recruit through some mechanic. It's not common in our games, but it happens. We just had a game featuring a cult, in fact!
3. Yes, scum=mafia.
4. Yup, we use common and non-common roles such as doctors, different sort of investigative roles, masons, etc.
And I want my mentee's faction to win of course :D

To elaborate on this: Whenever a game is announced, it's announced along with its complexity rating, which can be any of these, which is determined during the game's design and review:
- Normal: a setup with common mechanics and roles mixed in with vanilla roles.
- Unusual: a setup that includes mechanics and/or roles that are rarely seen, or were never seen, in games run in or community.
- Role madness: a setup entirely, or almost entirely, composed of power roles. A power role is considered any role that is not a Vanilla Townie or a Mafia Goon.
- Bastard: a setup in which the gamerunner divulges false information to the players or that contains roles incovenient to play with and encourage bad sporting behavior, such as Voteless or Tanner.
Both Simon Says and Mansion were advertised as Unusual.

So, a Cult is a specific kind of Neutral faction that can be put into a game. Typically they can recruit Town members to their Cult at night. In the last game, MafiEra Mafia, there was a Cult, and we didn't find out about it until way late into the game. Grizzly was the Gamerunner for that game, so he's making some jokes about how some of us weren't too thrilled with that mechanic lol.
Scum is a slang term for Mafia, yeah. In my first game, there was a bit of a debate about whether Scum meant any non-Town member, or just Mafia, but so far I've usually just seen it used as slang for the Mafia.
A doctor could certainly be in the game, most of the games that I've seen so far here don't specify what roles could be in the game unless it is an "open" setup, meaning it's a prepared one that can be found online.
I always root for Town from Spec Chat, but I'll be honest that if some of the players I like on a personal level end up being Scum, I might root for them lol especially if they are doing a good job at deceiving people together. It's hard not to appreciate a Scum Team that is performing really well, especially from the comfort of Spec Chat.

I don't know where the term "scum" comes from, but I use it to differentiate between "Mafia" the party game, and "Mafia" the team in the game. So calling the team "Scum" is easier to understand in that context.

This entire conversation about the glass wall is really great. I think those are the two hints that really accomplish what I wanted they to do. Many of the different interpretations being brought up could potentially fit the hints.
That's a good reason as any for choosing who to root for, haha.
There are some insanely funny players in this community. Blargonaut is another good example. A couple of seasons ago he had a short cameo appearance in a game called Heroes Vs. Villains and I'm laughing out loud just thinking about it now.

I'm amazed at some of these guesses that are coming out because I had no clue what some of that stuff was supposed to mean lol. Like I think the idea of there being "sister rooms" is really good, and now the glass wall speculation is really interesting to me.

I just thought that little thing between them felt a bit manufactured maybe? I don't have much else to go on yet, but both of them had some posts that stuck out to me early on.
I've never seen either of them as Scum yet though, so no meta reads or anything, just vibes haha.
Fair enough ^_^, I can understand that. I'm not so sure though haha but maybe that's because Stu has been town in every game since Monopoly rather than anything else.

Hmm, weemadarthur might be on to something here. I could see people having unactivated PRs that get powered up once they enter a specific color room. Could even be a Scum role, like a JoaT that starts with 0 shots but earns them based on certain colors? That sounds like it would be a fun role lol.
Or maybe there's a Cult that gets recruitment shots, who knows. ;)

I gotta say though, I'm really impressed with all of the new players so far. They are all staying active and contributing their thoughts to the game even this early on D1.
I was so shy on D1 in my first game lol. I picked a fight with Splinter, then I realized he was probably Town, and then I didn't really say much else for the rest of the day haha.

That is a good possibility. I've definitely seen Town members who don't want to get killed at night (perhaps because they have a good role) act in ways that draw Town's attention early so that Scum will think of them as a mislynch candidate instead of a possible night kill.

Not sure who they'll lynch here for D1 in the Mansion. I could see it being Zipped, but my guess is we'll get somewhat of a shitshow. There may very well be more than one role claim at EoD.
My soul read on Turmoil is that he is Town as Fuck here. If I'm right, then it means I will have correctly guessed his alignment on D1 in 3 straight games based on nothing other than the tone of his posts.
I would probably be trying to vote for one of the more inactive voices. I'm a fan of going for people on D1 who aren't posting a lot, but are obviously reading the thread very carefully and are aware of everything going on when they do make a post. I think Grizzly is trying to do something similar to this with his vote as well, he talked a bit about this concept. Someone like Kalor or LuxCommander would probably be my top picks.

In my last game, there was a day where two Scum fake claimed as Cops because they thought they might die, and then a Town Commuter was forced to claim as well so we didn't kill him.
The next day, a Scum fake claimed as Doctor, and then our real Doctor counter claimed it.
The next day, Brazil and his brother Fandorin, who were both Town, caused a huge mess which resulted in Fandorin getting mislynched (no offense Brazil/Fandorin <3).
Then the next day, someone anonymously killed our top vote candidate with 5 minutes to go in the day, causing the second place to get lynched instead. They turned out to be a member of a Cult which we did not know existed until then, and wouldn't have known about at all if the other person wasn't killed first.
So in other words, expect the weird lol.

I'm not feeling the Zipped lynch actually, mostly because his kill wouldn't really give that much info, other than answering if he's switching votes for the lols or something else.
I can see people leaning towards a Bear vs. someone else vote (maybe Melon or Lux) with a potential swerve at the very end of the day. Many players are due for refreshing their vote.
None taken, we did cause a huge mess.
But only because town/scum were already gonna mislynch Fand anyway because Sorian told them to :P
