If the packages had been switched up, would I have been able to erase myself? To be fair the Random Number Gods were kind enough to give Malus the BP instead of a townie (and give town the lightning rod instead of scum). It wasn't all bad! Flip those packages around and then you'd have some truly rough outcomes lol
I would've said the action failed and refunded you your shot.If the packages had been switched up, would I have been able to erase myself?
Slow tie incomingHere we go - I expect this to be a fast turbo.
They clearly went to spec chatThere should be no question about the messages at this point. If you read that and also know no one claimed them..there's really only one answer.
They clearly went to spec chat
Emotional tells is something I’ve always struggled with. It can be quite obvious in retrospect.lol, Fando sounds exhausted. If no one picks up on the scum tell in his latest post, town deserves to lose.
(Though they kind of deserve to lose anyway.)
Another well-deserved victory for town.I received a track the precios night that I could use because I was forced to commute last night.
Doggo, it's Fando. He lied about not getting an item and he lied about not receiving a package after the roleblocker died.
You got an ítem, I got an ítem but he didn't.

Yeah, I definitely think scum made some missteps along the way that opened up the door for town to win at all. Still though - they had the perfect excuse to vote Malus out with the motion detector info and didn’t. Half their reasoning on Meatwad was due to a fake claim role somehow not making sense even though it’s a completely valid variation of the role. Even now with Fando they had to exhaust virtually all other possibilities to even stumble onto him and still yet half their reasoning is about package results that are 100% truth lolSerious post, I think it’s a bit mixed.
In the end town found scum, they got rid of unconfirmable town (kitsune) which helped them find the scum role (malus).
Scum failed at staying alive. If there had been a teammate or two alive Fando is never being found, but on his own it’s much harder to hide. That’s the downside with bussing.
Also a serious post, and although anyone can see I'm salty about how this game went since that fateful D3, this is more of a trend that I'm noticing: town is becoming increasingly passive. The outcomes of all of the recent games I've followed hinged entirely on how scum acted, while town just went through the motions. Look at what went down in HvV2 as another recent example of that.Serious post, I think it’s a bit mixed.

I would have been this townie, I swear! At no point in the game did a townie come forward with a big argument that changed the obvious course of events.
I triedAt no point in the game did a townie come forward with a big argument that changed the obvious course of events. Town just shrugged at Monkey's claim. The fact that malus survived through the motion
I wouldn't say better. I would say often loudest though become targets and their arguments against each other/defenses increase their loudness (I am one of these). Further complicated by the fact that the loudest/heaviest posters tend to play the same as scum as town so it's not really bad to target them but also it ends up bad.It doesn't really help that the better players all kill each other off pretty quickly. That's sort of the downside of mafia in general. People learn who the players who do the sort of thing Brazil wants town to do and make sure they are definitely not alive by the midpoint of the game.
Mafia, at the end of most casual games, is typically won by dumb luck by town. They get a lot of natural advantages and it's really difficult for most scum teams to overcome the odds and last long enough to win.
Yeah, that's a better adjective, I just threw one out there without thinking about it much.I wouldn't say better. I'd like to see some things that really shake up the meta in terms of mechanics - post caps again, weirder roles, etc. Something that makes us change a little and reconsider events.

Every lynch in this game was entirely predictable and the result of town going through the path of least resistance. At no point in the game did a townie come forward with a big argument that changed the obvious course of events. Town just shrugged at Monkey's claim. The fact that malus survived through the motion detector results is absurd. Most of the time, and especially against players like Kits, people decided that they had to lynch them before they decided why said players had to be lynched.
The "Fand lied about Kopite's packages" thing I quoted above is another example - not only is it incorrect, but there's no logic behind it. When malus revealed that he got something from the package, that was used as an argument against him. When Fand revealed that he got nothing from the packages, that was also used as an argument against him - even though there's no logical reason for scum to lie about that. It's just a confirmation bias loop.
It's when arguments are afterthoughts that you get things like Fand being blatantly exhausted right now - there's no recourse for the players being aimed at beyond the mere "mechanical" dynamic of mafia when things become like that. It made up for a very frustrating game to read - at no fault of Natiko's, as the game design is pretty unconventional and fun.
The RNG didn't help, but scum is going to lose simply because they ran out of space. None of their multiple actual slips resulted in actual scrutiny from town.
Edit: This may have come off as overly harsh, but I don't think this is anyone in particular's fault, and I'd definitely include myself as part of the problem in the HvV2 example. I just think that town in our community has seen better days in general. It feels like we're all always playing individual games in our own heads more than trying to come together to figure stuff out. It's weird.
This game is definitely unusually quiet, but I'm also used to my last games including a nightchat with Lokiduck and once Fantomas! I wonder if their plan was to slow things down by aiming for Fanto
I'm pretty sure Loki is one of the few people who can be more chatty than me in a night chat lol.
Kalor is my top Scum now, I kind of believe the Meatwad claim, feel like Scum would have a more composed claim ready if they have fake ones.
I have never accidentally posted in the game thread instead of Spec, but I worry about it all the time lol.
Also, fuck me it's slow at work today, glad I have this stuff to keep me distracted lol.
Scummy claims more often than not are town.
Why claim a weird role? Because it is your role...
this post confused the hell out me for a good bit
