Before we talk anything it may be of interest to say where do we stand in regards to each other.

In my case, you're a slight town-lean based on that town coin Monkey gave you last phase. Since you've sounded null to me for some time, though, I've been meaning to re-read you but something else always comes up first.

So, tell me how do you feel about me. And, let's add, how do you think we could productively use this chat given that read. I've got an idea but it's your turn to go first.

Your pretty much null to me, the slight scum read from D1 was very much a D1 read and pretty immaterial now. Since then your frequent gigaposts have been good, but nothing that i dont think scum you could have faked.

Im all ears on how to use this chat, unless making fun of everyone else behind their backs is appealing to you lol.

Let's play some back-and-forth with reads and leans. Talking about it with you may give me a better impression on some folks. If one of us were ever to suspect the other more, we could share these in the thread. Please be aware though, most of these comments are rough so, feel free to destroy them.

How do you feel about Kyan? He's a smart, widely town-read player that I suspected for a second given a post of his lamenting how wrong he was after like... D1, and when no one was pressing. Shared this with wee the other night too, but they seemed ok about Kyan.

He's moved to be my 5th town read, but would like to examine that more closely to be honest. If there's a deep wolf, it's either him or Pancakes imho.

Kyan i feel shaky about, much less of the "kyaaaaa" jovial softness persona than iv come to expect from him, deepwolf is something i could believe but wouldn't want to chase until all this cop drama is dealt with.

Pancakes i feel a lot better on, i find her ethusiastic go getterness just seems genuine to me, gut read but the kind i typically trust.
Wont rule out deepwolf but it would surprise me.

Yeah, my problem with Kyan is that I'm basically giving him a town-read because he's a good player. Can't recall the exact moment/play that made me default to town, but still. So that's another re-read for the list, how fun.

Collected Kyan's votes in here just to look at them, completely forgot they went for Ambulance shortly before Faddy tried to.

I'm currently seeing myself defaulting to Faddy and I don't even have an updated opinion on him yet. I don't like the other two candidates and I am interested in pushing for alternatives. Reasons for nin in #1446.

So I actually did some work during the night to establish some reads because I am scum and I knew I wouldn't die ulul because ain't nobody killing this fool if he doesn't start doing something. So, mah current thoughts:

- If someone bussed Faddy, I'd go with Neeks 1st and Jman second. Assumptions about standard gameplay make me believe that it is possible that all of the votes on Faddy are town though. There is no need to bus a mate on D1 and there still was a lot of time left on the day. I'd instead focus on the people who suspected Faddy but didn't vote there. I saw at least Hedin and Launch doing this, and Blarg had a temporary vote on Faddy.

- I get the turmoil scum reads now, he was quite eager to defend Faddy and that stands out. Turmoil also wanted nin dead before Faddy flipped, what could be seen as a attempt at a counter-train boost. If turmoil is scum, that right there was a second reason to avoid consolidating the trains alternative to Hawthorn. Turmoil had a post (after Faddy flipped IIRC) where he wanted to push the lynch away from Launch (and someone else who I can't remember).

- Faddy's read post (the 2nd IIRC) had a bunch of people listed as town in it, I feel that there is a good chance that they all are town with the possible exception of Neeks. Of the scum reads, my notes say that I should look at Zipped at Reki, stupid notes don't tell me why I dropped the other people from consideration though.

- VA imo has a good chance of being not-scum. I base this on the conversations he had with Faddy before the latter's flip. The conversation does not feel fabricated to me.

- Launch's OG reasoning for voting Hawthorn looks bad with him connecting Faddy to her. It feels like he wanted to have an explanation ready for voting Faddy if it comes to that but holy fucking hell don't aggro bus on D1. Voting Hawthorn instead of Faddy also was boosting a townie train instead of a meanie one.

- Notes say that "zipped is doing the hawthorn-esque gotta leave an out of myself xd". I think this was in response to him using the phrase not wanting to get burned again in some of his posts. It possibly feels slightly too safe for town Zipped.

I'll begin with a bit of a existential one: am I in a pocket or not? Do you know something else about me than my alignment Launch?

Pancakes is an interesting case because she's getting town-read for unconventional play contrasted with the way you'd expect a new player to act in their first game as a meanie.

There's also this progression from Faddy in these posts separated by a couple hours;

People I don't like because they feel forced. Zipped, Conditional Pancakes, A Wild Ambulance, Launchpad, AllthePurpleThings, Reki.

I think Conditional-pancakes was trying to re-evaluate the situation between me and chuggs. Thinking about all the potential scenarios and unvoting is townie so I don't have an issue with them.

He'd be more careful not to contradict himself if she was a teammate, right?

What I find kinda funny is that she has had this back and forth with rac, another widely town-read, for days. Are they tunneling or is there substance in there?

Yeah thatd be a poor contradiction to make for scumcakes, also the specific thing of her play feeling forced is something id more expect of scum pushing on town her, its a push made more in the hopes of others picking up on it, not somerhing youd be able to build upon yiurself later, if that makes sense.

Blarg im super unsure about still, normally i can put him down by this point but hes really stradling the line this game. Everytime i start to think hes being performatively useless in the ways id normally scum read him for he pulls out something actually insightful/useful that nobody else brought. That plus the allure of easier targets has put me off his trail basically all game so far.

You got anything on him? it actually feels like no ones really looking at him this game.

That's interesting because wee said something similar, that Blarg had a post here or there that seemed like taking a townish approach to the game and taking a stand. Dunno if you wanna take the homework, but do you have a post from him at hand that you found to be insightful?

Agreed that he's been flying under the radar so far. But, I'd think that as a meanie Blarg is way more interested on the stuff that's happening and reads like he's purposefully trying something here and there. This time, there's nothing fishy - other than the snipping of money -; doesn't seem like he's planning some big gambit or red-checking a meanie-read of his or whatever.

In that regard, you said that to read Blarg you need to try and divine what intent hides his posts. What do you think about that?

So, guess I'd lean town since nothing stands out as fishy out of town!Blarg usual range. My problem with that is that I'm leaning town in all the places others like Kyan or Monkey do, and knowing that I'm town too, it makes me paranoid about the Town Core being shaky.

To the other bit thats exactly it, from a general passing view of him i can really glean any larger intemt from his play, town or scum or whatever, and thats pretty unfamiliar with him.

Like i could take it as him willing yo take the game as it comes and keep himself from making an inevitably messy bastard game even messier, but the it could just as well be that he like to hide amongst the chaos as scum and sees no need to create it for the same reason.

Unfamiliar territory, very exciting.

Yeah, Blarg is a hard one to pin down so far. I'd still town-lean, but not sure if the unfamiliar play should merit him getting anywhere close to endgame. If you keep an eye on him - as I believe I read you doing somewhere during the game - that'd leave me less worried about him.

Feel like Launch is putting a good bit of effort into the game, which is really nice but also NAI. We'll see about ATP's results with Vere - with which Launch also had a bit of a discussion last phase - so I'm not in a hurry to think too much about him just yet.

What's bad vibes about him, the voting?

By the way, did you find anything on Blarg?

And another question - sorry! - because I may be overreading the situation. You seem to trust VA enough to give him money, so; do you think he's been avoiding the "hard" discussions? There're at least two instances of this imo;

• He speculated about Faddy trying to give money to wee on D1 for the items. Yet he starts suspecting wee shortly after and votes them D2. When wee confronts him about that, he never explains it.
• VA indirectly shades the Maol discussion when Monkey, Pancakes, you and me were talking to him earlier this week. He never follows-up on that despite me asking him three times to do so.

And now he just... seems to not want to comment anything about my post? But I tagged him there and asked directly. He's openly avoiding it :(

I'm overthinking this, right? Or is he really trying to dodge direct confrontation?

What do you make of those flips?

While losing the Doctor is a hit, sinking the Roleblocker/Strongman is worth it imo.

This also strongly indicates that rac was probably roleblocked last night.

It also lends more credence to ATP and Launch, unless the latter was a Godfather and/or this was a maneuver to deepwolf, but it doesn't seem likely at all.

Am I wrong in also liking that we don't need to solve the dog anymore?

And yeah its easily worth it, i generally think theres no 1town/1scum trade that isnt worth it.

And no, Fat4all is not at all any easy solve so having that answered is a fair relief.

This was nice too, having a straight alignment check with all the stuff going on in this game was really lucky.

So, to me, it's Hedin and turms. Which is awful because if we account for 2-3 more non-town players, there's probably someone in my town-leans that's horribly wrong. Which seems to be my recurrent theme this game.

You, on the other hand, have a lot of slots open for consideration. In that sense, anything else you'd like to talk/discuss about? Let's say you die this night, would you like me to say something for you?

If I were to die - highly unlikely imo - please be sure to reassess the Core. There's something wrong somewhere and I can't put my finger on what that is.

In regards to discussion this phase, being totally honest, don't think there's much chance for someone other than me to be the lunch unless a check or the day modifier change something. That's fine/deserved considering the position we're in though; three meanies in four phases is pretty good. Just a bit sad I won't get to play Box Peek, so you better enjoy it for me if you're there come D6, ok?

By the way, thanks for entertaining my points, it was a nice little exchange even if it lacked a bit on the joking side.
