Spectator Thread Nuestros amigos Veterinary and Gambling Services Ltda.

It all started because I was curious.

Curious what would happen if I killed them.

“I don't like this,” I told myself.

“I'm just doing this because I HAVE to know what happens.”

Ha ha ha… What an excuse!

You of all people must know how liberating it is to act this way.

At least we're better than those sickos that stand around and WATCH it happen…

Those pathetic people that want to see it, but are too weak to do it themselves.

I bet someone like that's watching right now, aren't they…?

Yo no Fui: Este juego puede ser bastante siniestro a ratos…
(This game can get hella creepy at times…)

Juan Carlos Bodoque: Quizás, muchacha, pero tú te lo buscaste. Sin embargo, te recomiendo que dejes esa Nintendo un momento para ver algo realmente siniestro en mi siguiente Nota Verde. ¡Corre video, McNamara!
(Maybe, girl, but you asked for it. However, I advise you to leave that Nintendo for a moment to see something really grim in my next Nota Verde. Play the video, McNamara!)

Welcome to Nuestros amigos! Don't bet with the rabbit, be nice with your fellow players, remember to properly tag spoilers and have fun. And no, timeline consistency questions aren't funny.

I had a quick look at the game sheet last night and I forgot how bananas this game is.
I only glanced through it when setting OM stuff up, but there is a specific aspect that's really crazy. I can't wait to see how the players handle it lol

A couple players had some fun with breadcrumbs earlier but they were preeetty subtle about these.

There's also someone in the meanies' chat that kinda hates me. If you read this eventually, I'm - partly - sorry!

There's not too much going on right now but I can get behind a D1 without 1500 posts.

Loving all the broken spanish, avatar shenanigans and bad puns.

Considering what's been commented in their chat, there's a chance a baddie could get out tonight, but it can swing pretty easily. Nothing against you mafia, but wishing town is lucky here!

why the super saint remark?

it's not unusual to see games end with players not understanding a role

why the super saint remark?
I got questions and the confusion was spread to another game-related thread.

Since the flip made the information public, I just wanted to get ahead of misunderstandings and further questioning. Like, if something is clearly explained in game-related material available to everyone, answering the question for all the players and not only to those who ask shouldn't be a problem.

Had Meatwad not flipped it'd be a different story.

Edit: Ok this just happened with one of the notifications;

Yeah I wish you had made it to later days too Fran, your solving could have helped town a lot this game.

Can you post this as my will:

I was planning to use it during the game for some bad play or read but now that I'm dead I want it as my will.
It'll be my pleasure.

Oh man, they should not be trying to use my day one posts to solve this game lol
The rest of the team is well hidden, just look at that post from Aeleus.

Although losing a teammate this early may mess up with them.

By the way when you asked if you could share the message I was like "Well, that mystery will get solved at day start so whatever."

Aeleus said:
I'm really loving all the little GIFs by the way Reki, great stuff.
That's sweet of you, Aeleus! Thank you.

These took way more time than I'd like to admit.

I can't believe the Weak Keymaker happened. I had it as the 2nd least likely "bad thing" to happen to mafia in this game.

And let's see how long Fanto can keep powering through this. Remember Sorian's golden rule... night actions are not stopped when someone dies*

*unless the game is bastard then the mod can do whatever the heck they want.

Yeah, I’m guessing the neutral is just Fanto. God what shit luck. On night 1 too lol

So many PMs I can't even...

That was super intense, but if Fanto listens to what town is offering him he can still win. It'll require a lot of patience but if he can get in the right state of mind it's doable.

Also I loved Muffin outing the neutral. Seeing all the pieces coming together - or falling apart? who knows - with the claims was both amazing and scary at the same time.

All in all, this whole thing was a net positive for Mafia in my eyes.

mafia is in a really good spot right now. Probably better if I didn’t blow myself up, but I don’t think Muffin outs himself if I didn’t. Would sure be nice to have a strong kill right now though

Scum should avenge my death and kill Geno
I love how Geno has done nothing wrong - except getting nin killed I guess - but everyone kind of accepted he has to die eventually.

Wild guess: Aeleus is a lie detector who can chech a statement done in the main thread to know if they are lying. They just checked Oreo's post about lynching a townie to know if he was a townie or not.

Whatever happens I just want to say that Poltergust's play was fantastic.

If you folks think getting the Dogtor lunched was the only thing he accomplished just wait until the day starts.

There is one innocuous post that has stopped this being a complete disaster for town.
I've got a guess here but I need to re-read.

Town using two protective roles is rough.

I still think scum can pull this off, because they're eating through town's useful roles pretty quick, but town have super Stu so who knows

But you protected a friend of Fierro Malo! You should be happy and proud!

Once Aeleus activated their power you were inevitably going to get out if you issued your command.

But only because Aeleus quoted you, otherwise the action would have failed and Aeleus would be here now instead of you.

rats.

man i wasnt even thinking of a lightning rod was more on board the lie detector idea. i guess i had made peace with going out since I thought i was protecting one of the most townie ass dudes in the game, but to go out on behalf of aeleus, rip.

also i'll be honest the flavor for this one is completely over my head, don't even know if a friend of fierro malo is town or not

also i'm really surprised no one else was town reading LP off of that 5 members of scum team post. That would have been some level 3 shit from the dude if he was scum.

Gutsy, gutsy claim from Polter there. I've always been under the assumption that any attempt to include a jester in a game will be met with an immediate 'oh no you fucking don't' from the reviewers.

Yes, it was Kingkitty. And looking at the roster I think noone was playing at that time.

Town has both a messenger and a gossip? And I get the crappiest of them?

Before you both get too spoiled - if you haven't already - who do you think are the remaining baddies?
I'll have to think on that, but I certainly don't buy Poltergust's Jester claim, that reeks of desperation and Jester is a bastard role that's rarely used

Did it because I thought we were in a good position and instead of wasting a lynch on me for Fanto I just did this instead. I'm assuming 2 more scum max remaining.

I'm having a hard time on guessing the last 2 though, certainly not Muffin since they wouldn't have known about the bus, Blarg and Malus maybe? Also Verelios maybe because of the lover thing and him straight up not dying with me but idk.

I'd go for a gamble here. DO NOT CLICK THE SPOILERS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHO THE SCUM TEAM IS

Kill Muffin tonight. Try to make it through the next day without issue and kill Stu at night. The next day needs to start with Stan outing the Super Saint and spending the whole day busing him hard and that should buy him enough town cred to carry him to winning.

Ah damn, what role is Stan? I figured the whole 3 people in my role meant 1 was scum and 1 was town. Although I don't think Muffin will be killed because Stu will keep bussing him.

Ninja/Backup tracker. Yeah, they might have to have the Super Saint kill Stu first and just hope Muffin doesn't track him.

Well that implies it's not Blarg...why does he keep insisting on this troll playstyle that can only harm town
Yeah, I don't know. Blarg is a good player, but I do think his...confusing post style has the end result of making him less credible when it comes down to endgame.

Had he claimed he'd be immediately NKed without a chance to use his "prize", which would be pretty bad for town. By acting like that he keeps suspicion on him going on and avoiding eating the NK.

For how hard it is to even understand him sometimes, he's always a helpful player. Like being one of the few to push Stan a bit this game, for example.

By the way Geno, good game! You were totally guiding town in some weird situations. And pointing at nin was both funny and cruel, too.

Can't speak for everyone's playstyle but a red check in our spot is enough to just claim, especially when we have a bus driver and a tracker, hopefully town doesn't lynch him

I would've let malus counterclaim Lone_Prodigy there since he's the Super Saint, but he unvoted beforehand and no one in scum chat responded when I said I was gonna do it.

Also, I can't believe I'm literally the only vanilla player in this game. I always feel like I'm fighting an uphill battle in these games because I can never really act on my reads. =/

Please, whenever I next sign up for a game, just let me get a good role. I don't care if it's technically "unfair" or that I'll be targeted because I requested this. I just want to do something interesting, a doctor, cop, tracker, bus driver, anything like that. That "be temporarily dead for a day" role in Marvel Mafia (which was virtually useless outside the specific context I used it in) and the Vanillalizer role in Avatar Mafia (which did jack considering 70% of roles in that game were vanilla) really don't do it for me, and don't even get me started on that lovers role in Conspiracy Mafia that had me be in a lovers chat with scum, effectively rendering me as a vanilla player.

It was cool being scum for the first time, but I don't like feeling like I'm expendable. It really bums me out that I "won" this 1/18 lottery like this.

There was actually some discussion about this during review but we decided that Goon/Vanilla was the best choice for balance reasons.

I'm really sorry you felt like this, and can totally relate. I rolled Tracker in SV and managed to get No Movement for like seven or eight night phases in a row. I was useless, it was demoralizing, but it's something that just happens.

However, I do hope you understand than there's little that can be done here since rolling a game is a random process. "Interesting" roles, as you call them, are a small subset of any setup. That's why you often hear "I've never been a Doctor" or similar comments, since most players here have an average of less than 10 played games and, with most of them not being RM, the chances of getting one of the really good powers are rather slim. I'd say only Hardcore Regulars (TM), like Stan, can say that they've rolled most of the spectrum of roles.

That's why I rather talk about agency. When you want to get a powerful role, it's because you want to make a difference. You want to leave a mark on the game, to swing it in your team's favor, to wow Spec. And that can come from more than just roles, like great solving, bold gambits, clever lies, etc. I believe your Doctor CC was a super good example of this. You managed to get town to lunch the best protective role in the game, and the team got the other town protection with the NK. It was a ballsy but fantastic move on your part, and you got breathing room to pull it off because you rolled Goon. Some may disagree but I'd say it was a good trade-off, considering all the claims were getting town a good picture of the whole setup.

So, again, I'm sorry you had a bad time there. But I believe you did great and hope you keep playing!

The thing is, I would've been satisfied with literally every other role that is in this game. The fact that I'm literally the only person without a role in a role madness game just leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. Heck, the only reason I decided to even sign up was because it was a role madness game. I don't care for the flavor at all and I wanted to make a strong impact in some way.

Like, you say that lots of people would say that they've never been doctor before, and that's fair. But would they also say that they've never also been a cop, tracker, vigilante, bodyguard, bus driver, or anything of the sort? Because that's me, and probably only me in this entire community, because what I keep rolling in all these games: a 7 or so game streak of vanilla or vanilla-adjacent roles. It's so aggravating.

Reki, I appreciate what you're trying to say about what I did with Lone_Prodigy, but the exact same effect could've been achieved if I was, for example, instead the Super Saint or if I had used up all my shots for a special kill I have access to. I didn't need to be vanilla to do that.

Also, slight scum spoilers:

Every scum has two different powers. I am the only one who is pure vanilla.

I think you're putting a bit too much into this as if this is a rare occurrence. I would bet more often than not our role madness games have a vanilla. I put a vanilla in mine. I rolled the only vanilla in Kingdom Hearts. At least you were scum which is inherently less vanilla since you get a constant chat and teammates to coordinate with. You complained that you rolled vanillaizer in Avatar which felt weak, but most of us rolled ACTUAL vanilla so I wouldn't be so quick to poo poo it lol The role in avatar had plenty of potential to have a big impact, you just whiffed. You could get tracker and see nothing. You could get roleblocker and block nothing of value. You could get the greatest role of all time and die D1/N1 or get blocked or vanillized when you go to use it. It's just how the game works, the number of players in any game that get some flashy, triumphant moment with their role is extremely low and far more rare than you're implying.

TheChuggernaut

I'm always town.
You could be me and role messenger and spend the first couple of days messaging scum by mistake. Or you could role a fucking gossip vig and whiff the shot by shooting Geno in the face after he OBVIOUSLY bread crumbed his role that he claimed (Sorry Geno)

Lone_Prodigy

Am I at 10 posts yet?
Roles don't define the game. I've seen games where town sits around and hopes for a red check from a cop to vote for, and I've seen games where vanillas nail scum to the wall with just quoting.

Some might argue that being vanilla is actually a good thing since it lets you play freely with less abandon: you're not a town PR trying to stay alive long enough to use it well, or scum trying to protect your team.

Ok so while we're on flavour I did some digging, in the spoiler text there'll be some fairly large pictures showing the dogs/cats of 31 minutos but I'll give a TLDL

The big takeaways from this for me are
A) There are only 3 cats in the show (probably) this means if there's 4 scum, one isn't a cat.
B) As said before my flavour mentions me having 3 fantastic friends, turns out one of them is a cat 'bigote' so just because he's my friend and mentioned in my role PM doesn't mean Kopite is a good dog.

From this I'll lessen the amount of good dog points I'm giving Kopite but he's still a better dog than Malus or Stan IMO
I love this.

Yeah, they're done. Sometimes you can coast to victory, but this was not the game to do so especially with how much heat they were getting.
