That V has a shifty as hell reasoning
Blind votes for the event didn't mean shit. I used random.org for mine. It's a guessing game. Hell, I voted myself.
No, I don't believe I've lied about anything. So for the record, did you or did you not invent reasoning to cover for your panicky decision? That is, did you lie to the town?
This is a really good catch. What I’m struggling to piece together is what the plan would be here if he’s scum. I would guess Blade was scum with him based on his vote, but why then would Blade not self vote? Whatever it was something clearly did not pan out as hoped. You voted for Blade on phase two because you thought that you had to match your vote with the blind votes of the phase one from the three people selected (or that is my interpretation of what you are saying). You specifically mention that you knew that you did not vote for Blade on P1, implying that you thus knew you had an increased chance of being right ("I did not vote for Blade, so it is more likely that the three others did."). Yet you also knew that you did not vote for nin nor did you vote for Grizzly - both whom shared Blade's amount of P1 blind votes. Going off from this logic, you had the same chance of being right with all of the three, not just with Blade. Yet you voted for Blade.

No, I don't believe I've lied about anything.
It was a stupid mistake. I saw Sorian pinged me and thought I was missing the event, and when I got in saw that I was supposed to choose the same name that three people did.
I mistakenly thought it was referring to the part 1 blind votes, scrolled up to see who's participating, saw a spoiler for votes, saw Blade had 9, knew I didn't vote him so I chose him. I panicked, even though I wasn't sure if there was a time limit. But when I voted I scrolled up, was confused and then kind of mortified.
So, it was genuinely a fuck up. I didn't want a penalty.
Yeah, and if you read my reasoning, I only chose Blade because he had 9 blind votes. I wouldn't have chosen him if I saw he was one of the three I had to match.
If I'm being honest, his name was at top. That was the extent of my deliberation.
And I obviously wasn't paying enough attention. As I said, I panicked.
No, I don't believe I've lied about anything.
Sure, but if he’s scum then the question is what was he hoping to accomplish with the vote? Did he have a teammate in the above group? And if so, which one screwed the vote?Remember that scum shouldn't have been able to communicate during the event.

Uh...that makes sense to me. I chose Blade because he was the first name I saw, he had a lot of votes and I didn't vote him.Well, your story sure keeps on changing.
Blade's votes are, to some extent, behind your choice for voting for him.
The extent is confirmed to be whole. No other reason existed.
I am being honest. I just chose a name I happened to see.
I panicked.
VOTE: Verelios
Uh...that makes sense to me. I chose Blade because he was the first name I saw, he had a lot of votes and I didn't vote him.
Give me one reason I voted him otherwise.
If they’re a team why doesn’t Vere just self vote to ensure scum get an item while not calling attention to his scummate?I proposed the theory earlier that Verelios tried to make sure Blade would win the prize.

Summarize this thread beyond Melon and Terra at it's each other throat
I thought it was self-evident why if you went and checked out the event thread. I only elaborated after it seemed like it wasn't.But you never mentioned all those at the same time. You 1st mention the number of votes as a reason. It is only after that I point out that based on that reasoning, you should've contemplated other candidates as well. You change the reasoning and say that you just picked a candidate at the top of the list. It is only now that you combine that all into one thought that you supposedly had at the time you voted. You are not being consistent.
There was an Event.
Verelios made a mess
People are arguing about whether he made the mess on purpose and what that purpose was.
I thought it was self-evident why if you went and checked out the event thread. I only elaborated after it seemed like it wasn't.
Okay, so I probably should've asked more to understand how things worked. That's on me, I fucked up.
But voting his teammate isn’t worse and just as obvious? I feel like self voting would’ve been much easier to explain as well. Pretty easy to just play the “I know my alignment” card.It would have been too obvious? Since he only got vote in initial voting phase, it would have looked highly suspicious for him to vote himself in the second phase.
You're miscontruing what I'm saying. I thought me choosing Blade would be self evident because when you open up the vote list he's on top.Does a self-evident man post this as his 1st post coming from the event thread after the results?
You're miscontruing what I'm saying. I thought me choosing Blade would be self evident because when you open up the vote list he's on top.
I feel like I believe that Verelios was legitimately confused by the rules of the game. But that doesn't really clear him as town.
I thought my first post about how I fucked up was detailed enoughIf you are being genuine, I imagine I am. Regardless of your alignment, I can't escape the feeling that you are trickling down the details drop by drop. The fact that you never did a detailed explanation at the start really makes me feel that not all the drops are coming from the same source. The presentation is problematic to say the least.
VOTE: GenoLooks like I didn't miss anything, we are definitely lynching D1 unless an event happens that kills off townies.
What?VOTE:Empressdonna
I thought my first post about how I fucked up was detailed enough
Mm, so I'm at the end of today's play and can't say that I have a great deal to go on. I have a gut feeling that Stuart's OK so far from the earlier discussion, but it's no more than instinctive. As for Vere... I don't know - would scum try something so overt in an event that's likely to draw so much scrutiny? D1's the ideal time for them to lie low and be forgettable, I'd have thought. Still, that's veering into WIFOM territory, so I'd rather not overthink it.
Hopefully there should be a bit more to go on tomorrow, although being D1, I'm not exactly holding my breath for any massive giveaways at this juncture. G'night, folks.
That was in light of the accusations of him trying to game the event in scum's favour. What was this overt thing Vere did? This is such a surface read comment that my meanie sense is tingling.
This is where I’m at. It’s very likely he was confused because I was confused as to what was happening at the time too (as were many others it seems). Combine that with Sorian pinging him halfway through when he realized the count was messed up alongside there not being a formal timer posted probably didn’t help matters considering when Vere showed up more than the allotted time had passed. What I don’t get is what happens immediately after the vote.I feel like I believe that Verelios was legitimately confused by the rules of the game. But that doesn't really clear him as town.
Yeah, I’m not sure what Kawl is going for. Definitely is a different approach than I recall from him in the past.If zzz Kawl is scum and SUPERHYPERACTIVETY Kawl is town, is self-aware Kawl ???
?
That was in light of the accusations of him trying to game the event in scum's favour.
Oh i'll show you what i'm going forYeah, I’m not sure what Kawl is going for. Definitely is a different approach than I recall from him in the past.
I scrolled up, saw Geno marking out and then saw that rules were to choose a person the others chose *at that moment. This is where I’m at. @Verelios Why did you suddenly wish you had chosen Geno? The gap between your initial vote and your regret is all of a minute. What happened in that time to change your mind? @Grizzly @nin1000 Why did you two choose Geno as well?
Eh?Splinter said "My Team" as well????????????
That's not at all suspicious??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Eh?I'd vote for no lynch on day one but man that'd make day 2 even more unreadable
Vote:Splinter
I feel like I need to file a restraining order suddenly.Oh i'll show you what i'm going for
For real though are you gonna explain that vote or not?NOT AT ALL A SCUM TELL
NOT AT ALL
I spent 6 hours trying to judge if one of melon’s posts was a joke or a post in a wrong thread (final result: probably a joke since no one else acknowledged it). I’m often watching but I’m hesitant to add my foolishness.

Wow, over 700 posts and not a single one mentions that I haven’t posted yet. Am I really that forgettable? :<
Anyways, I just finished reading through the thread. I’m surprised an event happened Day 1, and sad that I missed it. I hope to participate in at least one of those.
As for my potential vote for today, that list of players that signed up for the event seems like a good starting point, if only to narrow down the number of lynchees. Of course, it’s entirely possible that the scum team decided ahead of time not to sign up for early events so that they could blend in with the larger player base.
That said, anyone who has played with me before should remember that I don’t really consider anyone a good lynch for Day 1 since there is so little info to go off of, and I don’t expect this game to be an exception. I will lynch someone for sure, though, even though I’d feel bad that they wouldn’t be able to experience the craziness Day 2 onwards would bring.
(Oh, and I promise to update my avatar.)
The amount of people that I didn’t even realize were playing the game.. yeesh.
I still feel pretty good in my vote there compared to some of the others that have pinged my radar. He showed back up and did discuss more for one post, but after that it was right back to being a light presence. He joined the event, and commented on Vere; however, I still don’t see much there. I’ve come to expect more of Apollo, he’s been really strong in some of our recent games. He has very much not shown that so far.How is your read of Apollo coming along? Any progression there?
Yeah this is pretty sketch to me.
But I'm also weary of you because doing these sort of pushes is a lot like how you played in Monopoly.
@Xbro how is your read on bear?

Other concerns - Vere, empress, Kawl, and a long list of people that showed up once or less.
I’m feeling pretty good about Melon, Terra, Include, you, and Splinter off the top of my head as far as town reads go.
I primarily feel good about Terra due to the exchange with Melon. It felt genuine, and I don’t see scum making such a fuss early on. It’s not a lock, but he’s a town lean currently in my book. I’ll agree on Stan - his posts have felt a lot like the last couple games I’ve played with him where he was town.I'm still down on Terra. His little conversation with Fireblend did little to help. He has done a couple of things I like but they seem rather obvious ways of picking up townie points. Calling out lurkers for joining the event. Bear did the same thing and it is so clearly virtue signalling that they are town and investigating the game that it becomes an easy way for scum to blend in.
Melon and Splinter I'm not really reading. Like I am skimming over their stuff.
Vere I am reading and am still undecided which way to fall.
My good feels are Nomad, nin, Alexem and Grizzly. And Stan was towny. I'm pretty sure you are town too.
Bad feels Terra, BladeSymphony and Muffin has a - mark next to his name in my notes.(I guess I didn't like his tone IDK)
No, Nomad has not been scum in any previous game, I think. Hard to get a fix on what he's doing here - he's been ramping up engagement in the last few games; in mini I remember we discussed whether that extra effort(ish) was scum Nomad but it wasn't so I don't think it's AI. Just something to watch with the rest of the pile.I primarily feel good about Terra due to the exchange with Melon. It felt genuine, and I don’t see scum making such a fuss early on. It’s not a lock, but he’s a town lean currently in my book. I’ll agree on Stan - his posts have felt a lot like the last couple games I’ve played with him where he was town.
Have we ever seen a scum Nomad? He seems normal to me, but I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen him as scum to know if he’d act any different.
Am I misunderstanding this? Because as I read the flow of that conversation after it happened, it felt like this:Imo that would be better, there's bound to be a scum in 4 people.
Yep. I don't think I've played with NtC before but Rynam's done this before but not to this extent. No minimum count is probably going to foster this, though; no reason for people to be here. It's gonna create unknowns. But speaking of-Also notice how Rynam and NectToChicken have both disappeared again, convenient.
Sometimes. Sometimes you disappear for long stretches, too. In my experience, that happens when you're town. Just food for thought. It's my playstyle, not alignment tied *shrug*.
Wow, over 700 posts and not a single one mentions that I haven’t posted yet. Am I really that forgettable? :<
Anyways, I just finished reading through the thread.
If I had the choice between dying and having a random 4 other people dying, I know which one I'm choosing 100% on day one. Some catchup:
Am I misunderstanding this? Because as I read the flow of that conversation after it happened, it felt like this:
The discussion was death as a possible penalty - and you were mad because you didn't want to be at risk of death but you thought four people should because maybe one is scum?
How in the hell are you more important than four random people??
Please do correct me if I'm wrong here but if I'm not, uh... no, I don't think saving one person over killing four to maybe find scum is a good trade.
Clearly coasting scumI'm probably not going to read the last 8 pages so what's up with everyone.
