I did a little reading about this role. Normally it's a town role from what I can gather, but because roles are swapped that's obviously not the case. Is there anything I can do to assure you that I'm town?

Actually I don't. Chuggs invited me to a chat last night by passing me an orb as part of his power and then I got to do the same last night. Like a traveling gossip. I was planning to talk to ATP but seeing as he's now dead that would explain why it ended up with someone else...

Can you create gossip threads too? Also would like to know why you picked me.

I have a neighborizer role I get to keep adding people to my neighborhood and they get permanent access.

My original plan was to add Monkey but that didn't work out :(. My three candidates for Day 1 were Monkey, you, and Chugg. What sealed the deal for me was that monkey before her death was town reading you as well.

Huh, okay. That's a neat role, actually. Funny too, Chuggs original choice was monkey as well before she died. She was going to be very popular. :p

I'll be honest in that I'm not sure how much I trust you just yet. I did want to reread what you did D1 so I'll likely get to that today and get a better gauge of you. If you have any questions for me feel free to ask them, though.

That's reasonable. Honestly, I still feel like I'm pretty bad at mafia so I'm just trying to do what I can for town (which tbf isn't much).

I trust you so here's the role I created

The role is called Barrier Human. Their first ability is Barrier, they can surround a target at night with a barrier. Any action taken against that target gets rebounded to its user.
The second ability is Give Me Your Autograph, they pick a the target at night, if they're a member of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet (town) then they get their autograph back. Any autographs are posted publicly in the game thread. This mod post won't contain any information that identifies who it's from.

For the first ability I just thought it would be cool to have a doctory kind of role but with extra reward. I thought it'd be cool to make role where if you guess right boom you got scum killed.

The second one is because in addition to protective I needed an investigation/killing role. I'd rather make an investigation role than a killing one. Initially, the second role was just an ordinary cop role but I was worried that the role I created was kind of boring so Salva helped me spice it up with the mod post. I kept it in because I thought it was a handy addition. Now we know there are two scenarios.

1. A town player got my role and has found a scum player

2. A scum player has my role and is not using the cop ability.

Hmmm. Since you're being so forward with all of this I'll let you know that the apple you won the other day unfortunately doesn't do anything useful. I was tempted to say that the other day when you won it but realized it's better for scum to not know what it does and just have them on their toes, yknow. Jman also got a fruit so he got the shortend of the stick too. Was kinda hoping we'd get more luck out of the 50% chance but so far, no dice. :/

Who do you think needs to be looked at today? I feel like outside of something happening that today is going to end up between loki and terra? I don't feel too good about nin and L_P isn't posting much.

LP only having 1 post means he's pretty much a blank slate and I can't read that one way or another. Nin is a bit more interesting since he followed Turm's idea about blocking a target over the night but I keep going back and forth on how to read it. A big part of me says a scum!nin wouldn't play that so hapazardly though and would try a bit more.

If the day comes down to loki vs terra I'll be disappointed haha. I really don't see the loki case and terra could be scum trying to protect his partner but, as he himself said, that seems like putting himself out there for little gain. Think I'd personally want to push launch and hawthorn a bit more to see what they do.

I didn't like how Hawthorn seemed to be pushing a Kyan case or its merits. I'm feeling pretty good about Kyan being town so it definitely made me side eye her.

Same. I mentioned it to Chuggs but since I helped vote her out early last game (and she ended up town) i'm hesitant to go fully against her this game because I still feel really bad about it. ;_;

That's not stopping my gut read of her from screaming that she is scum but i'm just wary about being wrong and doing that to her again.

100% okay with it. I trusted him after Zeke flipped and our chat last night only solidified it.

You do still have the Orb to pass on as well but that will be a chat only between you and whoever you pick.

So I was thinking that this day phase if it looks like nobody is going to reveal its results. I’m going to publicly announce the second ability. Is there any logical reason that a town player has to not reveal scum results?

There are a couple but for the role you made do the results automatically get posted the following day phase or does the player have to manually submit a command for them to be posted?

According to the finalized role that Salva sent me the process is automatic. Also I forgot to mention this but the target is aware that they were visited by a fan.

The only thing I can think of is:

1. The person used the protection last night instead of investigation
2. They hit scum but are keeping quiet to hopefully have another shot this Night Phase
3. They are holding on to this info to see how this person acts through the Day before before revealing it closer to the end
4. They got roleblocked last night (either through the in thread command or some other role)
5. The person is scum and just won't use that command.

Zipped's actions so far have confused me since they're not very zipped. His opening into the game felt townie (even though there's a small, small part of me that says he did that because he's scum and a bomb) but his subsequent posts so far haven't rang any alarms. I am curious to see what his answer is about ending the Day as a bomb since that is a very weird thing to do if you're Town. Even though he was not even close to the chopping block I'm surprised he even left that as a possibility.

How do you feel about jman? To me this seems like town jman with the weird moves he likes to pull.

Jman feels like town!jman. He's similar to Turm in that he'll do what he feels is best even if that means others will scumread him for it. I think him throwing away that vote removal on Zeke was the towniest thing he's done all game lol

Just like I like it lol. The orb power wasn't exactly what I was expecting for a jman role.

I'm trying to wrap my head around all the developments today. Hawthorn and Launch both being unable to reveal their original roles is weird. Terra made Launch's role but his behavior doesn't seem scummy at all.

So looking at my notes if jman confirms that he made Chugg's role then that means 70% of the players that can reveal the roles they created have done so. This excludes: Monkey, ATP, Hawthorn and Launch. I'm thinking that I have ATP's role, because the way he described it made it seem like the role he designed was pretty conventional.

Yeah there's...a lot today. I didn't get a ton of sleep so I might be repeating myself a bit when talking about it all so correct me here if I'm wrong.

Hawthorn and Launch claim to both have a modkill threat for their role but Launch got his with his role and Hawthorn got it after the fact. Terra made Launch's role (which he thought had the modkill built in) but Terra claims he did not. Stan has a gun but hasn't shot yet. Turm says Zipped should be a bomb so they can both die.

I want your opinion on this. I've held it back because I was unsure about Launch and didn't want him to know I possibly had his role but now that Hawthorn has claimed (someone i ALSO don't trust) i'm tempted to go forward and be open that my role I inherited also has the modkill restriction. There's a good reason I haven't said anything but...

I wish I could explain more but, yknow, modkill.

I just don't know how to read this situation. You think I should go forward with this info?

Whoa that's really interesting. So potentially we have a role that neither the role creator nor recipient can say what the role actually does. I was hoping once all the roles everybody made got revealed we could figure out what they did, but this really throws a wrench into that plan. I'm leaning towards coming forward with this information, but I'd trust your judgement on this over mine.

Yeah, exactly. If that's the case that both the role creator and the role recipient can't talk about the role then there's possibly a 4th person out there that also has that and hasn't said anything. I will say I learned there was a modkill restriction after I got the role itself and I do think it's a Salva balancing choice. It's the role itself that gives me pause.

I'm...going to think on it. At the least now you know and can bring this forward if anything were to happen to me.

So I was wondering if I should say in the thread that I probably have ATP's role just so that we can have another role cleared.

I also came up with a way to figure out who has my role. I was going to post something like "your command(s) has a four word phrase, please post the third word in that phrase.

Do you think these are good ideas or should I hold off?

Let's wait to see what Jman says about Chugg's claim. Since Chuggs also had a gossip-like role it's possible that Jman and ATP both made similar things and you two got them. I'm just not sure who got what. :p

But if Jman/Chuggs confirm eachother I would put forward that you think you have ATP's. It could at least solve that piece of the puzzle and you wouldn't have to claim.

To the game, it's cool to see Chuggs does have Jman's role so that seems to give points towards you having ATP's. Although Vere seems to be confident he does....might go back and look for crumbs, might not. This does all make me feel even better about Jman and I was already town reading him pretty hard.

Hopefully Stan makes a shot soon so we can work off that. Zeke's death really took the wind out of our sails today.

I'm going to laugh if my guess about a scum!Zipped wanted to blow himself up D1 because of his baby was right. But...why breadcrumb it early if he knew a scummate got the role? He'd have to claim he made it anyway at some point so maybe that's why. But I don't know how else to interpret that fake King being killed by the real king unless he planned to use it on his scummiest read to make them not only pick a target but to also flip them. Bah, WIFOM. One of us will have to ask him tomorrow.

Fran I do want to read over since he's now flipped. I saw people townreading him but never understood why. Your post pointing out how he went against Loki was good though, I agree with you there. Vere is also pretty much cleared unless scum went for a deep gambit and had him kill his deepwolf partner. Unlikely, though.

I thought nin was making some good contributions in day 2. I also liked how Fran was one of his top scum reads though that might be a little simpleminded on my part.

I also want to see what the battle royale thing, but I could go either on way on malus. I feel like that party time on Night 1 wasn't very helpful, considering that it felt like we weren't making much ground. Personally speaking I would rather use that kind of ability later in the game when we have more information to work with. I don't think that's necessarily enough to be sure that he's scum, but I'm keeping my eye on him.

Hm, nin brought up a good observation in our chat. Stan's vote on Fran is lined out like it doesn't count but he never unvoted. I'm wondering if that's somehow tied to his gun but...no clue. I'm also a little shocked to see Kyan, Vere, AND loki didn't vote.

Nah, that's not simpleminded. Most of the surefire town-tells are the little things like that so I wouldn't be surprised if you're 100% right. It would be odd for him to buss his own teammate like that after losing Zeke.

Nin explained his thought process for picking me and why he didn't invite anyone until now and I'm kinda townreading it. He's just following his own flow of the game and seems fairly genuine so far.

So I told Kyan about the orb chain we've got going and he had a quesiton. When you were invited by Chugg was that Night 0 or Night 1?

Chuggs said he passed along the Orb during Day 1 and we started our chat during Night 1. He initially believed that the role would tell a person they had the Orb during the Day and that person could keep it or pass it along. Whoever had it last would enter a chat that Night phase.

Instead I got notification of the Orb and the chat at the start of Night 1. I could then pass it along that Night in order for a chat to start the following Night phase.

Little confusing order of events but that's how it went n_n;;

Ok so I'm rereading day 1 and just trying to analyze why Zeke shot Monkey. I mean even if you were going to shoot Monkey would you do it 5 hours into the game? To me that reads as a panicky move. Was it her encouragement for us to reveal what roles she made? Fran was opposed to this and Zeke claimed to not care about the idea. I wonder if more scum latched onto to try to stop that idea? I know Hawthorn was initially opposed, and that's another argument she's made that I'm not really gelling with. I think another possibility could be zipped's post calling out turm. I could see why this would put pressure on a scum team. I know I was town reading him Day 1, but looking at him now I need to do some reevaluations. Another interesting thing I noticed is that some of Fran's town cred came from malus using his ability. I wonder if this was an attempt to change the momentum for the scum team. I'll need to do some reevaluations on him as well. At this moment my candidates for scum are turm, malus and Hawthorn

Poor Kyaa, that is a lot of info to suddenly get. I'm not sure if Fran's reluctance to be open about the set up is because it would hurt the scum team, I think he genuinely felt that would be an 'unfun' way to play the game. It's possible that some scummates made roles that are likely not town but that didn't seem to hurt Zeke and it only boosted Fran's position for his benefit so I'm reluctant to say it's that as well.

It might just be a combo of monkey playing a solid town game plus her going right for Zeke's throat out of the gate. If there is scum in Zipped/Turm then I can see that reaction causing scum to panic even more and for Zeke to go 'fuck it, I'm going to take her out now'. Though it would explain why Zeke didn't even try to fight monkey's read...

Did Zipped push Turm at all today?

Hum, ok. Turm and Zipped both seem to be focusing only on one another with some bits outside of that but not a whole lot. Turm looked a lot at flavor and mechanics while Zipped was around to push for reads/question people. It's just out of those two it's Turm who would be the scum player going by created role but by actions it's Zipped.

I hope Vere checks one of them tonight because that would help a ton.

I just realized something. It might be nothing but..

If you're a parity cop why wouldn't you use yourself as one of the first checks? You know your own alignment so that's the best base to start with. You'd be able to 100% confirm someone else instead of being left in the dark like he was for Fran/Terra. You can then use this to your advantage.

So I'm going to say this with a big, flashing red sign that says "only consider this if all other avenues have failed" but what if Vere bussed Fran. If we get to endgame and Vere is still alive maybe consider this.

Nah, I'd back you up on asking malus for a full claim. I'd hope he would come forward with it himself since fran flipped scum but I'm on board for asking for everything.
