So last time I had this role we sent a message to a team saying we knew they were scum and the team actually turned out to be scum, and we sent a read list to another team who also turned out to be scum were we just up and claimed, before spending the rest of the game just fucking around. Honestly we didn’t really get much useful information out of the role when we were actually trying to get useful information

I've been thinking how best to use the role and not coming up with a ton of great ideas. I guess just set people up and see how they react and maybe use it to claim if we get some solid town reads but that's all I am coming up with so far.

It does feel off. I have only played with her once so I don't have much of a meta read on her but for someone who supposedly looked back at several of my games it feels like she has grossly overlooked jman's latest play.

That and even if she was sincere it wasn't a very good pressure attempt so I can't figure out why she is so bothered by it.

Yeah that’s been bothering me too. It’s just such a weak pressure attempt and it was the one of the reasons I was pushing for more info because surely that couldn’t be it lol

I was playing D&D tonight but looks like things calmed down since I think a lot of you also have a D&D game tonight as well. Quick thoughts:

Monkey - As we mentioned I think her pressure attempt and defense of that feels off. It feels a bit too off the cuff, like just let me throw something out there that I don't really care about.
Sorian - I think I believe them? Seems to be consistent with the claim so far although I would like to see Muffin around to support it more. Still I don't think I have ever seen a day cop like that before but also they kind of maybe crumbed it by saying they would know by the end of D1 if Monkey was scum (and potentially changed that when Geno "claimed").
Jman - I still think Monkey's push wasn't good but also his "look how smart I was as scum" didn't read right. I don't think scum would point out how good they were at being scum but it is jman soooo....
Sparks - feels a little more engaged which usually means a town Sparks
Genoforce - I don't think it was a terrible gambit to try to fish for reactions like that but from Terra's reactions and some of Geno it felt like they had a little "oh shit" when Sorian came at them.

I'm not sure about Jman. I could see town him pulling this.

The rest I mostly agree with, but my gut tells me Geno and Terra just did a dumb thing.

Nah it's fine, they are just really nitpicking you for some reason which I definitely know the feeling of. It's definitely taking away talk of what Sorian & Muffin were trying which I find a little bit interesting but feels too obvious as counter programming.

We are between arcs so our session last night was a little bit of shopping and then a little bit of setup for the next arc. We are about to go down on our first proper dungeon crawl this campaign which will be interesting.

I'm definitely on board the Monkey train right now. I flubbed my response but still like she has been acting pretty suspicious and then like you said VA coming in hot with a vote while town reading me is odd.

I'm also looking at Geno a bit because I am liking his play and usually when I like his play he's scum. I wish Sorian or Muffin were a little more upfront with their claimed red check.

I don’t think it’s a red check or anything. I think Sorian is just also scum reading Monkey lol. I do not think Sorian and Muffin are actual cops lol

Ok let's shift eyes off Monkey & VA just for a minute before we get too far down a tunnel, is there anyone else pinging you right now? I'm looking through the list and no other pairing is jumping out at me. You and Faddy have both mentioned Zeke but I haven't seen much on that front myself.

Yeah good plan. Was about to suggest the same thing. His case on me feels very opportunistic, and seems to rely on gotcha’s, but they came from misreading what I was saying and I can’t tell if that was on purpose or not

Something I’ve been kicking around but I don’t have a chance to look at it closer as of yet, but if you come at it from the angle that us and Monkey/VA are both town, I think AllThingsAlone might start looking a bit fishy

That Bear post does make me feel better about him on first read, I need to go over it again after the kids go to bed and focus on Faddy more. I was not a fan of Neeks' initial posts after being pinged, it felt like filler responses, so I am still keeping an eye on her a bit.

As for Faddy I can definitely see the case. The one thing that I hesitate with is that in EZA when we were scum together I thought he panicked a little when things got a little hairy, so far I don't have that impression but maybe that's just because the pressure isn't fully turned up yet. I do usually have issues reading malus so I'm not sure if I will be able to tease much from the pairing or not.

I wish Monkey didn't try to shut down Launch and I hope he has a draft going and just ignores it. Not that I want to keep rehashing her but I really would like to see more of a contrast between Launch and ATP's positions. Ambulance did not mention anything regarding Monkey so there isn't a previous record to go by. I do agree ATP is looking awfully fishy though. Of his substantive posts 16 are dealing with monkey/jman/you, 1 piggybacked on my Sawneeks poke, 1 piggyback on Bear's Faddy post (but still defending Monkey in the process), and then 1 light agreement post that Sparks isn't acting wild so far this game.

With Faddy after rereading I can see the case. I don't think its super strong but he has been a little all over looking for something that sticks. If I wanted to be generous I could say its a town Faddy poking around and seeing what gets the most reaction but it doesn't appear to be that kind of an effort so far.

Catching up on the night activity and I'm back to feeling funny about Monkey again. I get that she's frustrated and has things going on but the way she keeps trying to shut down any conversation about her is really sending up red flags.

Is there a reason why town ATP would be going in this much with Monkey? I'm trying to find an angle that way just to see why you would do that as town and I'm not coming up with much.

We can claim because it's not like our role is that valuable. I was working on a haiku (because I'm so bored at work today) where we could soft claim a lie detector with our messages but that's probably not super important. I do want to see how things shift in the next hour or so before doing that.

Well no one is moving off Faddy & malus yet and I have no idea where I would want to go if they do.

Also, I don't know if I find it weird that Launch is being so quiet. Obviously could be RL busy but this is not the Launch that I am used to.

That was fine, I got busy as well. Last day of the year working for me, first 7 hours and I'm just twiddling my thumbs. Last hour pops up 3 things I need to try to finish before I leave.

Okay, yeah. I'm pretty sure that was just a nervous VA. Pretty sure that pair is good now actually.

So even if Zeke is telling the truth we have to think about this like scum don't know his role so Faddy is the juiciest thing on the menu.

Bear and Neeks I think are fine. Looks less certain with Faddy being town, but I just don't see them as scum.

Sparks and Polter are probably fine too.

ATP and Launch are both there and that's concerning.

Same with Terra2 and Lux. Especially with how sketch that vote looked.

Jman and Thorny I'm pretty sure are town, but I could be wrong.

Meanwhile on Zeke:

Sorian without Muffin who didn't vote. That's kind of weird, but I still don't think that pairs scum.

Fanto without Uzzy and I honestly think Fanto is good.

LP without Blarg who was fucking around a bit. Still think these two are fine.

And then Monkey, Terra1, and nin. I think this actually makes all those pairs look alright. if Zeke is scum, they're nearly getting him killed. If he's not, that's still them choosing to go elsewhere instead of the tracker.

On us we have Zeke and Zipped, Uzzy, FeBe, and Geno.

Wee is off on her own on Muffin.

As for teams to look at I would eye ATP & Launch and Terra2 & Lux first. Zeke left that claim late so might be a little suspicious but will see how they respond as the day starts.

In an others column I might take some time to look over Sparks & Polter as they really seemed to coast on Sparks' initial goodwill. All want to look at FeBe & wee as well because I don't really remember much about their play as well, wee was around but didn't really leave much of an impression.

I'm going to have to vote for Bowser's Castle as that might have been my best track in the game.

If Zeke is the doctor, I can't knock the claim too much. You kind of don't want to claim that early. I also think we're going to have a hard time convincing town to kill a claimed doctor tomorrow especially because that vote only looks pretty bad to us. I still think Zeke is scum that got himself stuck on our kart because of how hard he defended Faddy, but we'll see how it plays out. He'll get caught if he's lying.

Sparks and Polter I don't think would be a bad place to look. Let me know if you find anything there.

ATP and Launch and FeBe and Wee I think will be where I focus on tomorrow.

Terra 2 and Lux look real god damn bad, but it's giving me pause because it's just so fucking scummy I can't imagine a scum team wouldn't tell them to not do that nonsense.

I never got around to the reread, was just lazy today.

So jman & Hawthorn are cops. Jman was really on Zipped D1 so will be interested if they checked that team or if the claim caused them to swerve.

nin is banned for the day so that could be why he’s quite now. And I think we need to put some pressure on Sparks/Polter later, but I really don’t think it would give us too much info just based on what you said. I think Febe/Wee is the plan for tomorrow and we can figure out where to go after that.

Fanto I think realized that defense on that team wasn’t great because she was more open to it later. It was also around the time she started to town read us more so I think it was authentic

Also maybe send to Jman & Hawthorn, I doubt anyone would doubt us at this point but might be nice to keep confirmed with a solid town core, plus they deserve a funny gif for that find.

I would not want to be in scum shoes tonight, there is going to be some serious WIFOM going on. You have a claimed doc who may have self healed the night before and you have to wonder what their restrictions might be. You have claimed and proven cop but then you also apparently have a town switcher who can mess up anything you do. I think I would take a shot at the docs, they might not be able to target twice in a row and they might not be able to be switched on consecutive nights either.

And yeah that message works, I was about to ask you what you had in mind personalization wise because I hadn't had a moment with any of them to really point to.

I'm kind of worried that there's a pair deep wolfing because I'm not quite sure where the third pair would be if there is one, but yeah. Things went south real quick for having a day 1 that was possibly town v town v town.

FeBe/Wee have to be the target for tomorrow. If they end up being town I have no idea where to go after that, but I really don't think they are.

I'm fairly sure there are 3 scum pairings, 3 out of 15 and 6 voters out of 30 feels about right. I agree that wee and FeBe should get the next close look, after that Sparks & Polter might be next on my list but admittedly there isn't a lot to go on there.

If we have a deep wold situation then I would look at Genoforce and maybe Sin, I know nin wasn't able to be around yesterday but Salva & him are playing a different game than normal.

Something about the night isn't adding up, wtf would they not RB the doc? Even with a switcher in play it doesn't make sense to use both powers on jthorn, all you need is for the kill to go through.

Yeah, I really didn't like that post. I still feel like this is a trap kill, but I wouldn't mine seeing a Terra/Lux flip.

Really don't like how Wee is playing, I agree. Her and FeBe trying to base reads off of that Launch read list is just screaming scum to me.
