well, I honestly didn't expect to be dropped in as scum lol but there's a good lot here, so I'm pretty optimistic this won't be too stressful.
Now, I've been keeping up at a high level and honestly I've been scumreading Monkey. I figured I would capitalize on what I was thinking before I came into the chat and put out a scathing post against her. Honestly, not sure what got into her with some of her play this game, but it's there to exploit and we should take advantage.
As for what Ambulance and you discussed... hard to capture Ambulance's tone from my perspective, but it definitely seems like a good detail to point out is that you were both expecting to have an easier time keeping up with this game, but having trouble with this many people posting. Do you have any fake scum reads to share? Actually, might be a good idea to look at the EZA side chats to see how both of you acted in those side chats.
I need to step out for a couple of hours, but I'll check in then. Sorry if that throws a wrench in things, Nat.

She seems to be trying to force a read versus actually reading. I’m not sure if I’m reading too much into it, so I’d like to ask why you defended her.

Sure, her initial comment about jman was probably quiet because he was freaking out in scum chat was just harmless and innocuous to me.
Chuggs turned it into a big thing for no reason and then people just started piling in monkey. She threw out a comment early d1 to see how jman would react, I just don't see anything in it at all.
Combine this with monkey being a threat to scum just seems like opportunistic for scum to try and jump on monkey after a completely nothing burger got blown way out of proportion.
I lean scum on faddy and malus and feel nervous of Sorian/muffin and geno/terra because I struggle to read them.
I feel good about monkey and bear, and pretty sure we are dealing with town sparks

That was all a big part of day 1 and I don't understand any of it and don't really know how to engage with it, so I almost feel voting there is a recipe for disaster because I'm not sure I can justify it well enough.

Honestly I'm struggling to keep up, I weirdly feel that every game has gotten harder. My first two games I enjoyed way more than the last three and just feel a little out of my depth.

Hmm ok, I haven't caught up to where Faddy enters the mix on the Genoforce claim. I'll have to see where I land on that whole thing, but that whole thing is NAI for Geno.
I can definitely feel your struggle here. While it's 15 spots, it's 30 voices, and keeping up with everything is absolutely exhausting - take it from someone who actually tries to do that and ends up forgetting half of what was said.
What's probably a better approach is what Maol suggested doing in HvV3 and cutting the game up into chunks based on arbitrary qualifiers. If you want to take a group of 2-3 random pairs or pairs that stand out to you and focus on reading/engaging with them for a day, then you only really need to adjust your reads on them if anything major happens down the road. Remember that having town reads is important, maybe even more important than having scum reads; it helps you reduce the number of potential scum, and I think that's a good general rule of thumb for seeming like a town player.
I think seeming overwhelmed is definitely part of blending, so you should subtly play that up, but being involved with fake solving at least in small parts will help you look way more townie. Do some of the legwork and make sure that comes through in your posts.
At least, to your last point there about me giving you too much credit, in those games it was because regardless of what you thought the end result was, it was obvious you were putting in a lot of effort. That's where the towniness shines through, and whether you're an amazing solver or not, that's a quality that hurts scum more than town so people pick up on it. Of course, the amount you actually solved in EZA made me super wary of you that we chose to kill you early on in One Piece, so you also get results.
Just for the sake of keeping up the illusion of our kart chat, @LaunchpadMcQ i completely disagree with your assessment of jman. In my brief experiences with him he seems very reactionary. I even think his response to monkey was weirdly reactionary rather than thought out. But just because we share a kart doesn't mean we have to share the same reads on people on d1 :)

Yeah, I'd also completely forgotten about Jman getting modkilled in HvV3. lol I also think I maybe argued against myself there given Jman's reaction later that he was waiting and watching to see what Monkey would do then coming in so strongly. Still, my gut tells me Jman's probably town here.
Monkey, on the other hand, is honestly throwing me for a loop. I've not seen her pull something so rash and sloppy before as baiting reactions. She's usually way more observant and reactionary. I don't think it's true she's done this in other games. Maybe it's because she's sick, I'm not sure where I land yet. I'm sure she's going to snap at me for saying so, though. I might end up voting for her anyway, despite what I said about cutting her some slack.

It’s definitely something folks struggle with. You’re basically feigning everything and getting worked up over every move you make. Honestly though, looking at it from that angle, it might be better if you tough it out and use this as a learning experience. I’m not going to care if we end up dying personally if you want to take the time to experiment and learn, so you can take that off the list of things stressing you out at least. Let’s just do our best.

For what it's worth ATP, even as someone generally regarded as being okay as mafia - I also find it quite stressful. When you're town you know you're just one small piece of the puzzle, as mafia it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and have the added pressure of feeling like "oh no I'm part of a small team that's depending on me!"
Honestly, that's part of why lately I've adapted my playstyle (as both factions!) to being more laidback, not obsessing and doing repeated ISOs, etc. because it just gets to be too much when also trying to manufacture everything. Everyone is different - I hope you keep playing (whether this game or future games) and can find the styles that suits you best. I think you're a good player, especially for someone so new. Don't be too hard on yourself. No one is expecting perfect play.
