@Aeleus, reading through that Scooby Doo lore in your OP is so interesting lol. I was recently doing a little research there myself, trying to find the original series on bluray, and I was not expecting to go down such a large rabbit hole lol. The history behind that show and its many variations is fascinating.
You can thank the wikipedia page for that lol, the number of variations is crazy no idea why they haven't let the show die (though I won't complain).

Yeah, I don’t think I’ve ever played in a 24 hour game at all.
You wouldn’t think the time was short with how slow it’s moving, though. A welcome change of pace to the last few games.

Running a game like this is so much more chill than EZA was lol. I don't have any spreadsheets open, I'm not sending PMs left and right, I don't need to keep track of multiple different custom mechanics. This is the life lol.
I'm guessing the pace will pick up more in the morning once everyone is around and we get closer to EoD. Jman is doing his standard early ghosting of the thread, FEPs is usually pretty bursty with activity plus he's in Japan iirc, and ATP probably went to bed shortly after the day started, so they'll all likely be around plenty still before EoD.

RIP Hedin, kind of a rough day, it felt like there wasn't a whole lot going on.
Town will definitely need to win this the old fashioned way if they pull it off. As people may have guessed with this being a Normal game, those were the best two Town PRs that went out on D1/N1, so yeah, it's going to be almost nothing but social deduction from here on out.

As for activity, I don't think it would change much being 48, there would just be longer stretches of inactivity. I've ran small games like this with 48 hour days, and it was usually people complaining about the day dragging on and lasting forever, with like 8 hours going by without a single post being made.
I'm not even mad because I couldn't generate anything really strong to push back with. I still think Zeke's whole explanation was off and I was starting to get bad vibes on Monkey but couldn't come up with a good angle on her.
This is rough since everyone seems to be holding things really close to the vest.

I'm not going to fault them for the low post count. They're all busy to varying degrees and the fact that they're even posting good content is nice. It's just dead, and what I mean by dead is a re-occurence of circular logic and lethargy in town to the extent that I can skip entire pages and still know the general thread movement.

when of the rest of the players read this after the game don't feel bad It's me being overly sensitive that was the problem not you.
I can be very emotionally unstable and have a hard time separating mafia play from real Feelings.
I clearly have to work on my playstyle mixing more smoothly with other players. I had a whole plan that depended on at least one of you accepting getting a double Vote.
In general I do like passing responsibility to other players on abilities I have (even though the double vote was a fake gambit) its how I test them and get reads on them but clearly most other players don't like this.
I truly believe I am one of the worst Town players so I try to approaching solving from Unique angles and it usually helps me be more accurate in my reads.
One of these days I will make it through a season without becoming a sobbing mess at my Keyboard I swear.
I'll say this, though. ScumZeke does not fake a red check on himself, not even in a message, even if the play didn't go as he anticipated. There's no way. People are too inclined to scumread him. The play works the same if he puts the red check on someone else but for me, that was the tell: he put it on himself. He was too naive and not thinking it through because town.

Well, this would certainly make me take a second look at Chuggs.
I think for me it didn't seem like something scum would do but it made absolutely no sense to me for town to do if it worked like he thought it was going to work. There were just too many question marks for me to move on, maybe if it had been a 48 hr day I would have gotten past it but with the limited day (and having a relatively busy work day) I just didn't have time to work through it.

The move reminded me of the one that Blarg pulled against Maol in Stardew Valley Mafia. I can see the rationale for trying to get a read on Monkey, but the messaging mechanic being different here made that strategy not possible.

I might be in a tunnel but the interactions between Chuggs and Pancakes feel really phony.
It was pretty obvious Chugg was scum when he replaced in. I didn't think it was fair to go straight at him because ATP replaced. Now I even said yesterday that I didn't think Zeke & Chugg were on the same team and that should have been the point where I backed off Zeke.
I think with a 48 hour day I'd have gotten past you, too. What we can learn from this game is that we are all too stubborn for short days. lol

Hey everyone :< I subbed out because I haven't been in the right headspace since I lost my job and since it was clear this game was going to be solved through deduction I was worried about voting wrong and losing it for town (that and the scum team keeping me alive to endgame, I really didn't want that and was legit hoping they'd kill me last night so I wouldn't have to sub out).
My biggest regret is not pushing is not pushing Chuggs more. His attack on me was scummy as fuck and while I made sure to explain myself, I should have pushed it more but part of why I didn't was because no one seemed interest in pursuing him. At least I can be smug that I was right :<

TBH I said he was scummy for townreading several people and I knew it, but no one seemed interested in him yesterday and I didn't have much else to go on besides meta.
It's like how my town read on Zeke was based on meta too since he felt a lot like town him when he was a messenger last time XD

Something about the dynamic this game is reminding me of Horror Movie Mafia.
I think the problem Chugg has is that no one has bitten on Zeke the last two days and they are not really trying to push anyone else. Like they need to shift attention to feps or someone else but they've gone at Zeke so much a sudden switch would look weird. Another thing where if they had 48 hours maybe that gives them enough time but they pretty much wasted half the day so far.

Haha I definitely am glad I’m spectating this game as opposed to playing it. I can see where I would have succumbed to some of my bad habits especially in this day phase.
On a somewhat related note, is there a way to improve at mafia without actually playing? I feel like in the games I’ve played there’s been a significant gap in skill between myself and the rest of the players. I feel guilty about signing up for games when I’m just being a millstone for my team so if there’d be a way to improve without dragging other players’ games that’d be great.

It definitely helps to see things from an outside perspective (like in spec) since you can understand a player's intentions so much more without the pressure and preconceptions of playing. You can start to see why they would post or do something rather than taking their word for it.

Spec Chats, like Vere said, or even joining a modchat just to observe, that's something that's totally possible, just need to reach out to a gamerunner beforehand and ask. Getting the bird's eye view of a whole game before it even starts, and being able to watch Scum do their thing in real time, and watch Town yell at each other instead of Scum, can be helpful for noticing those same patterns in the games you later play in.

just had a dream about mafia. This is the third mafia dream I have had but I barely remember anything from them.
I am going to describe what I remember from this latest dream while it is fresh most won't make sense because it's a dream of course.
In this dream I had to replace out of a game because before the game started in real life I was in Zippedpinhead's house. While in his house I used his restroom and saw in bathroom closet a clue on his bathmat that let me know he was a investigator
While in spec chat Zipp suddenly made a comment about me in spec chat and I freaked out because he was still in the game.
When I tried to say he can't talk to spec chat it turns out I could not access my account and it was actually Zipp logged in as me talking with my jman account in spec chat.
since I was still in Zipps house I used his computer then played as zipped in the main thread trying to solve the game without people knowing it was me.
I woke up around this point and can't remember any other details.
