Hello! I'm curious what it's going to be like being in the spec thread from the beginning. I almost signed up towards the end, but luckily there were enough people, so now I get to have the full spec experience. This game will also be the first episode of EastEnders I watch!

The landlord thing is cool, really starting discussion. It would be neat if they have everyone say publicly who they're voting for, then if the wrong person gets elected they have a pool of people who might be lying.
My early predictions: ATP is scum. Blarg will be elected landlord.

Players can change their reads as the game progresses. There's nothing wrong with making early confident reads as town and narrowing the pool of potential kills early on. If you're a town solver, you want to convince people to not kill people you want to keep alive, there's nothing inherently scummy about what Launch is doing.
I do this every game, they should know by now that the behavior isn't an alignment tell. I want to quickly figure out a good pool of players I'd be okay with killing on D1, and I make broad assumptions about people's behaviors to get there.
At this stage of the game, I'd be watching Saw very closely since she's trying to ride Chuggs' tail coats here on top of throwing shade at Launch early on.
Launch, you got to quit using wine as a defense, it looks sus as hell lol and unless your role benefits from getting votes on it, it's really easy for scum to counter.
I bet Launch is gonna scum read Hedin because of this post.
This is part of how I scum hunt, for the record. I make assumptions about how players should be reading each other. Like, if Launch doesn't scum read Hedin here, that'd be a red flag for me because town!Launch should be skeptical of Hedin's motivations in saying that there.

At 24 hours left, I'd start pushing on Geno I think and see how it develops. Getting rid of Geno early would be a contentious point of discussion. The other three are fun options that are wildcards that force players to make questionable decisions if they go with me. I'd actually town read people if they make off the wall reads at this point because town players on D1 are very clueless and tend to grasp at anything that looks coherent. Scum players are usually cautious about that sort of thing, and definitely wouldn't want to be anywhere near me, a player who usually works from the middle of the fire unless they're confident in their deep wolfing skills.

The scone discussion was amusing to me because the main time I have proper scones (aka scones with jam and cream) is at fairs. Mom is addicted to them and has gotten them since she was a kid. LOL
Fisher brand fair scones were apart of my childhood and a yearly tradition when we aren't in a pandemic. XD
I also have butter and jam on biscuits every once in a while tho :p

Between Stu, Launch, Faddy, Chuggs and Saw, one of them is most likely scum. Weird how they're all town reading each other so quickly considering how none of them have done anything noteworthy yet. I want someone to get in there and break them up, them all being in agreement with each other early on isn't great.

I think Stardew Valley is a good example of it working out well for scum here because it eventually worked out in Reki's favor we were stacking the wagons so blatantly that people in the end couldn't quite believe it.

Why single out people that have shaky reasoning for a vote like this? It wouldn't be an alignment tell this early in the game. And Sneeks should know this considering she was town when she threw all reasoning and caution to the wind that time she pushed to kill you and Nin in EZA.

If Faddy is scum here, he's evolved from EZA where he was scum read for trying to push money to wee.
I'd do the same thing as Faddy if I were town tbh. This early on, the only player I'm trusting is myself and I know I wouldn't fuck things up down the line with those sort of abilities, so I'd advocate for myself, regardless of the optics.
I'm not sure if scum!ATP wades so willingly into this fight tho, it's not a very good long term plan if Faddy flips town and you get stuck with the resulting attention, especially when he's making the, "scum would do the obvious thing," argument.

I understand you doing it. I would understand Faddy doing it, too; that's a Faddy MO. What I didn't like was Faddy's list of potential candidates. That was either a list from a wolf or one from someone not paying good attention - neither is a good choice for a town leader role.

Those four need to be in the hotseat if this is accurate (I didn't close read the thread, sue me), because Faddy's right: scum fucking LOVE a cover they can use to pretend to care about something like town does. If I was playing, I'd be using this time to see who kept pulling people back to talking about the landlord thing, too.

If ATP and Chuggs are scum together, good effort by ATP for trying to create animosity between them, tho I think it was bit forced because ATP seemed to go after several players this phase and if he and one of those players are scum, it'll stick out if either of them flip.

To be fair the mechanic got its purpose fulfilled, as opposed to one of us dying my scum. It's just that it happened early, I wasn't planning on signing on the next game but I now might have to lol.

I think both town and scum will use it. They'll probably be hesitant for it to not just be deterrence at first, but more bold after it's used the first time.
I've decided to stay with the Quasi-EastEnders flavour plan but just know I'm pretty sure there was a funny joke to be had about Geno getting launch to clip through the stairs rather than waste frames watching him fall down it.
Also I've been having a look round the snug and it looks like the old gambling machine is still working so I'm opening up bets!
Everyone here starts with 15 coins. Make a bet with Bet <Number of coins>: <Condition of bet> and someone can reply I'll take that bet
(the person who sets the bet gains the coins if the condition is met, while the person who takes the best gains coins if the condition isn't met)

Congrats on the win, Geno. That's a neat pair of roles. I don't know what I would have done in Launchpad's position, it's like being about to be voted out D1 as mafia except without a team behind you to help plan your fake claim and and decide what to do. Tough to play!

I meant to quote it, but Sneeks' opening post was so quick and so fake. The :< emoji (I swear she uses it more when she's mafia), the faux sadness over Hedin, etc. Which is fine, we often do RIP posts like that when we see the flip, but there's no particular reason for her to comment like that. Did she demonstrate a particular townread of Hedin or support his posts? Like what is that other than "oh how sad for all my fellow town, right fellow town?"
