There are a lot of players I’ve never played with and some I’ve played with, but not sure how they’ll be playing so I won’t be using much player meta.

I will be trying to “read” you too in the thread to try to hide that we’re lovers, but I’m not sure how much that matters. What I need to hide the most is that I’m a master and my death will kill you.

I think that’s too much effort. Best thing is to not be obvious so if I’m pressured stay cool since it could get obvious if you hard defend me.

I’ll try to use some math and reading to figure it out. I think that 29th player is either some mafia member or a neutral.
My plan for D1 is to start with mechanics discussion where we can all discuss it. Since it’s quite heavy in mechanics and a bit bastard I think it’ll really benefit town to know what is going on (mafia are always one step ahead there).

Oh, if it is anything like the first game then the mafia can be mixed with other townies in lover pairs. So from your point of view I could be mafia.

In the first game only one of the lover pairs was mafia-mafia.

Yeah my plan right now is not to defend you (I don't expect you to be under any pressure for the first few days at least) and to not ignore you. I expect a lot of pairs will just ignore each other in reads and stuff. Basically try to not make it as obvious as possible so that scum can't kill us 2 for 1 without getting lucky.

But the main thing is to just go with the flow of the game and change tactics if needed.

Something interesting about the old game is who were mafia. It was a smaller game so only 18 players with 4 mafia, but they were 1 mafia lover pair (master and servant) and two mixed town and mafia pairs where the master was mafia.

I kinda wanna assume at least one mafia is a servant here since we probably have more of them, but it wouldn’t surprise me if most mafia were masters so they could kill their partner at night.

The mixed mafia-town pairs seems to be the main thing making the old game bastard so I assume the same thing here, but most pairs are probably town-town.

how many mafia in total, around 6 in this game? I'd expect at least one mafia-mafia pair, 3-4 Master (Mafia), 1-2 Servant (Mafia). Agree that there'll be more Masters as mafia otherwise it's really hard for them. Was there neutrals in the last game? I'd expect those to be masters if so.

Day end being at 1am could be trouble if either of us are up for a vote, I'll usually be up but not always, and day start there's no way I'll be up for that but that one doesn't matter. Will be interesting if more scum are NA then is that an advantage? Probably.

6-7 mafia maybe, 25% is quite common.

If we can push the vote a bit earlier we can have some more clear vote wagons so you know what’s viable to vote for. It’s not gonna be super productive for the game if all of the voting happens in the last hour.

EC doesn't lie, that's his whole thing and its worked for him as town and Mafia so far, so I knew he'd flip that way.

I think faddy comes out of that looking bad even if Vincent is town with his vote since Mafia would want to get rid of the tracker asap and her just jumped on it and will think of an excuse during the night. The other votes on EC will depend on the Vincent flip. Natiko and Fluxwaves are two others I think could be mafia.

Terraforce - kind of trying to bully easy targets and is close to stepping over the line

Wavez - something like that, on mobile so can't check the name. I think he's quite dodgy and has very little posts, so taking him out has two benefits potentially

VA - another dodgy one and gives us some additional info day two

I think the best choice is probably still someone who’s consensus vote. Say VA becomes a big wagon early on and is shot, we kinda skip D2 and head straight into D3 without a night kill and get a bit of vote analysis. Might wanna get him to claim first though hmm

Yeah, just don't want to waste 48 hours of back and forth over "is VA town or Mafia" and VA being voted out anyway because that's pretty boring and an easy place for Mafia to hide. If it goes that way I'll probably just shoot so we can move on haha. Otherwise just see how it goes I suppose.

And yeah not at all sold on Fate being town yet, that claim feels like something he could have got from MGS Mafia and an attempt to keep people from investigating. It could also just be a scum role. If he's prodding a lot of people he's probably town, at least that's what he did in MGS.

I assume Natiko got a "devine" scan on Launch but in this game I have no idea what that'll mean. He then backed off after the Launch claim because he realised the scan didn't mean what he thought it did. So my question to the thread would be "what would a devine scan tell us if anything, about Launch?" because I have no idea.

I would be careful making too many associative read with no flips. VA being town would break this.

I think at least one of them is scum (so both should be on my list actually). I'm more confident in VA, but wouldn't rule out Terra either. I don't think this is two scum trying to distance. One flipping town doesn't mean the other is automatically scum, it just means my read on that person was wrong.

Right now I would have it VA -> Terra in priority. Terra's argument makes way more sense than VA's as well. VA feels more like he's forcing a frustrated townie with the role reveals but it doesn't feel sincere. Feels very performative.

I'm certain there's scum in some of the quiet ones especially as their posts don't feel especially townie, I'd group them like this from most to least scummy groups:

- VA

- Terra, Reki, Pandora, Random, Hobo

- Ephi, Fate

I dunno how I feel on you. I think you could be in trouble at some point soon because people are coming at you and it's not something I completely disagree with right now, but I wouldn't have you in the above groups.

Reki did an attempt at EoD 2 to interact with me which I townread because it felt like genuine attempt at reading me, though it is kinda light I guess. Did not feel like an agenda to make me look bad. Faddy is a lighter read, but my impressions have just been good, but he has contributed very little.

Hmmmmmmmm. Ambulance is light on content, but it all looks fine to me.

I'm assuming you meant D3 at the end there? I do think Ty's performance on D2 plays a significant factor. Just taking a quick look through his posts, I feel he's added more contributions than a lot of other players this game (myself included).

This is a natural sounding read where he could've easily faked a scum read or something.
He had very few posts D3, but he was always focused on killing Launch which is quite townie since scum probably knew something was up.

I could get on board an ATP vote even though I have no feelings one way or another on him simply because I've seen quite a few people scum read him and some town read him, so seeing that flip would be interesting and might give us something. Skimming over the beginning of the game again and it is kinda interesting. When ATP gets going he seems to really struggle to produce content and just replies to random fluff.
Ael got pretty fast into scumreading Terra for his opening.

Been a busy day and these start times really throw my shit posting rhythm.

I don't think anything launch has said or done isn't outside the scope of his scum game so I'm still a bit iffy there.

I still feel a bit off about fate, though I couldn't really tell you why without quotation marks and I know z-beat doesn't like that.

Speaking of z beat biased maybe but I'm not a fan of his contribution so far.

The person I feel best about is wee. I've like her prodding and she seems as engaged as you can be on a day 1

Ty is being a bit of feather ruffler but I'm getting mgs vibes where he was town doing his own thing and got crucified for it.

So I dunno, I don't feel great about anyone, but no one is pinging my radar yet either.

Keeping an eye on launch, last game showed scum launch is happy to take on a prominent role in discussions, keeping an eye on fate. The slightest of slight town reads on wee.

I'll hopefully be more active tomorrow.

If there is something scummy about ATP it's how self-conscious he is. After having had some pretty lackluster shitposting he makes this which is very aware of the fact he hasn't produced much content.
The motivation for this post is clearly to "post content" with some reads forced out which town does do too, but it is noteworthy he isn't able to organically get a read yet.

Terra was really weird early on. Kept going for what I think he thought were easy targets, me, new players, players who haven't played for a while. I said it night one but I actually thought he was close to stepping over the line with some of his posts and that's why I just replied to his questions with a question because I have no time for that attitude.
