Well this is alright I suppose? I was hoping to be paired with HP because he's the only confirmed town, but I was already townreading you so I can't say I'm upset. If you don't infect me tonight I'll assume you're confirmed town.
So how about Maol and Haw being confirmed town, huh? I was really thinking at least one of them would be scum. I'm at a bit of a loss for where to look next. I guess at the home team? What do you think?
I still think it's proximity based. It would be the biggest red herring ever for it not be, I don't think ATP and Zipped are that mean.
We are still in a pretty good position. We almost certainly have a cop who hasn't claimed, and we probably have some sort of protective role as well who hasn't claimed.

I can confirm that EC did not infect me. Honestly, I don't think EC is a prime scum target, which Maol himself said and I thought that was him attempting to throw shade, but now with the revelation of Maol's town status it's much more likely he was trying get EC to engage more.
Mazre is soft cleared now imo because he was with Maol. Same with Vere with Haw, but if we're gonna vote someone who was paired with town I'd rather vote Vere than Mazre.

I'm starting to doubt it due to the Maol and Haw revelations but honestly it just makes so much sense. What's the point of the night chats??? Just to make us go crazy? Nah I refuse to believe that

I'd like to believe that The Thing maybe has a map of the entire installation and can choose to move to certain areas instead which are connected. So at the beginning of every night he chooses to go to the map room which is connected to the infirmary and he can choose infect any of the people in both of those areas. There has to be some way for The Thing to control infection that isn't pick amongst all but isn't limited to being traced back to night chats.
Yeah this is possible. I've talked about this in the main thread and I could see it.
This would go against flavour I think though. The infection is based on spending time in close proximity to an infected person in the film.
Do you think The Thing(s) know who is in every night chat?
Lol it's based on touching its cells I believe. So if you touch The Thing, or get its blood on you or whatever, then you will slowly change and become assimilated by it.
That's why I think the room based infection, while a good theory from a game design perspective, might not be right, because you would assume you know if you touch something weird, or if there was someone else in your partner chat with you.
At this point I am back to not discarding any theories about infection, but I do still think proximity is more likely.
I think now there's been multiple partner pairups, that contact tracing is going to be very hard. We might be able to manage it for this upcoming day phase, but after that we're going to need to rely more on good old fashioned scum hunting. Except that's extremely difficult, because people change every day, so we're basically in an endless array of Day 1s :mothout:

I mean we can trust Hawthorn and Maol tomorrow, that's a strong two person town core. And I sincerely doubt they'd go after HP. I feel like they're going to try to infect PRs at this point which seem squarely located in the home team because the away team has been practically all claimed or vanilla.
Nin's power was real and was absolutely a town-oriented power. It was undoubtedly 1-shot as well, meaning scum won't want to target him now. I think he can be added to the core, depending on who he bunks with. If he gets stuck with HP that would be fantastic.
I agree that they'll go for PRs. I think they're gonna aim to try and find the Cop and the protective role. Let me find the list of claims from the thread that I made. But you and I are going to be prime targets because we haven't revealed our roles.
I think anex is gonna be a big-time target, especially because we're paired together tonight. He is new so people will give him the benefit of the doubt, and he is softing that he has a powerful role.
So EC and anex both claimed to have roles with night targeting. Either could be a cop or protective role.

Yeah I totally agree. I'll be looking at everyone tomorrow, especially the people other than me and you on that list, and especially Chuggs and Vere as well.

I don't know what was up with HP and Hedin trying to swing to you at the last second. HP is confirmed town so that's probably just him trying to fuck around with the votes as he is want to do. Hedin though, I'm unsure. I was really townreading Hedin after night 1 but I think it's possible he could've gotten infected night 2.

I think that's just a difference of playstyles lol. I just vomit out everything that comes into my brain and hope it's useful to somebody.
With my playstyle, I get people like Hawthorn saying I'm inconsistent because I consider all options and then pick one. Different strokes and all that.
When I tried to carefully consider my posts in Scooby Doo, I had a really awful time, mentally. I think I way prefer to play how I'm doing here and in Mafioso. Some people try to have a certain playstyle that works when they're either town or scum, but I think I just have to do what works best for me and remain true to myself. If I roll scum one day and it turns out my high volume strategy doesn't work then I'll cross that road when I get there.
