Since it's come up in the game thread, I'll confirm what Sorian is saying - Jesters are really heavily discouraged in this community. If your reads suggest that someone is a Jester - go back and re-check your logic.

There are three roles that I don't think should ever be allowed in our games:
1. Jesters
2. Tree Stumps/dogs (Not allowed to talk or vote)
3. Scum traitors (Scum that can be swapped to other teams)
(All three have been proposed at one time or another.)

I don't think Gafia 2.5 had a Jester, though

EDIT: I can't find the design for it. I guess it's possible that it did. I was running Gafia 2, but we had too many signups so we spilled the extras over into a mini mafia that was themed after a bachelor party.

Also, for the Mafia Historians out there, that role was a callback to the fake claim that LP invented, and that I used, in Natiko's Metal Gear Solid game from last year, where I claimed to be a Horse that could submit one of three commands each night: Eat, Sleep, or Poop.

If anyone wants to know what Vere's full role was btw, I'll spoiler tag it:

He starts as Vanilla, but then on Day 3, he would have gained a "Logic Dive", which would have allowed him to submit 3 names, and if all 3 of them were Not Town, he would get a positive result, but if even 1 was Town, then it would return negative. He could submit either living or dead players too.

Too bad he died on N1 I guess, puhuhuhuhu!

My reason for shooting vere was it reminded me too much of fate 2 where VA almost was voted out on day 1, stayed in contention for multiple days and scum constantly used him to deflect stuff.

I just thought clearing the alignment up even if town would help. Of course I wasn't expecting me and faddy to also be dead

Odd for me to say, but it was a good shot when thinking of town's D2 start short term.

I think you offering nothing at the end of day was weird. Why not say you are Hajime and you don't know your role. Just like in the game!

doing nothing and having late votes move is always going to end up with suspicion back on you.

It is too tempting for vigs to clear up eod with an unknown thinking they don't want to waste another day on you.

I figured I wasn't going to die at that point since momentum against me stopped at you 7, and with my role it was likely to catch a bullet on claim anyway. I hadn't factored in a vig though, that was my mistake.

I'm not sure I have ever expressed that opinion... but maybe I have. To the end that multiple green checks are better than red checks but i was only 2 shot so I played to what I thought was optimal.

Sorian's explanation of the order of night actions is correct and is pretty much how it works in every game.
