I'll go first:

I'm the Godfather , and my character role is Chipie (Messenger). To summarize powers

+ I am always investigated as a Town Crew (vanilla villager)
+ my Messenger power lets me send a 500 character message to another player each night. This msg is anonymous, but I am allowed to claim it's me (or someone else)


Here's my initial read of my potential strategy, based on the role lists:

Roles:
1x Engineer: Will investigate as Town to them, I'm not worried.
1x Doctor: My understanding is, I will also read Town to this role. This could be useful to validate any claims I make via MSG, if/after I flip.
2x Guard Duty: This will be a useful target to infiltrate because I can form a mini Gossip group with them. If I convince these two I'm town we can feed them misinformation. But it's very likely that Town will get suspicious if this pair lives long.
1x Guardian Angel: Seems possible that we can feed suggestions to protect at night while we target someone else, wasting their shots.
1x AC Follower: This is our ally player and we might want to MSG them our identity ASAP.
1x Bug: The nexus ability worries me, but everyone has to worry about this role so I kinda want to wait and see what happens with this one.


Characters:
Setsu: I need some clarification on how the rule "You may not use a Role and Character skill on the same night" works with these day powers. Is Setsu able to do whatever Night Role power, and double vote by Day?
Gina, Raqio, Stella, Otome: These are all soft investigator powers that trigger around N3/N4, so we should be careful not to associate too closely until then
Comet: I'm wondering if MSGs count as "information" that this character can learn
Remnan: Motion detector, I would consider trying to get them out sooner than later
Yuriko: Another cop, that learns character names. IMO it seems like we should be as honest as possible about our character roles.

Obfuscate (Night Three Switcher): On the third Night Phase only, you may select two living players to switch using the following command:
Obfuscate: player_name1, player_name2
All night actions targeted at the first player will now target the second, and vice versa.

Hello team

So here are my current list of priorities:

1) Establish towniness by cooperating with other town and helping to solve the game

2) Narrow down our potential NK list. We have three big targets to find right now: the Doctor, the Engineer, and the Bug.
--The Doc is automatically notified what the vote flipped , which is frightening for any claims going forward.
--Engineer is a 2-shot cop, which kinda tells me they will wait to use their power.
--The Bug loses the game for all, but there will be Town motivation in finding this player, too.


If we can get Crew to claim, that crosses off a good chunk of names, but I think this might be a longshot today. I will be claiming Crew ASAP if the opportunity comes up, which is my safest claim since all roles seem to read me as Human Crew.

If we can get Guards to claim (seems likely), that's two more names.

Halfish of the game hasn't really shown up meaningfully yet, what so we think scum + the weirdo neutrals have been up to so far? Did they all get lost on the way to the bridge or have they been soaking up the atmosphere and chatting?

Well i think showing skepticism of mass claims looks townish, if you want to push back a little.

But the option to have only the guards claim is pretty sensible (their role is practically made for D1 claims), and looks like the right amount of caution.

Ideally what we want as scum is a partial mass claim (i.e. all crew claim or all PRs claim) because we can deduce the rest and hide better

I admit I've been playing with the assumption I read human no matter what, so I would hope that Doctor reads me as human. No big deal at this point if they don't. But giving an ambiguous answer one way or another seems to not fit with the open nature of the game.

Not trying to argue it! just think the problem is the Doctor PM is not specific enough while the other PMs are.

I can clarify it to you specifically as it is your role. The answer is yes, you will be read as human to all roles including the Doctor, just like it says in your role PM.

Intuitively I think if someone on our team joins the claim, their plan is disrupted. I am all for disrupting their plans.

Additionally, Nin has a character power (Stella) that kills another player character (Shigemichi) if he's voted out. Additionally, it would give the AC Follower another shot. Assuming the chance that AC follower is not Shigemichi, and does not kill one of us (lol), that seems like a decent return for disrupting the claim plan.

I mean this is certainly one way to make sure they vote for you but I still don't see how that benefits him lol. TBH I do not think we're making it out of this, I think the combination of "the bucket strat", and Sparks playing against his win condition, has tilted this way against us.

But our option now is to continue to plant as much doubt and distrust as possible.

For my part, I've built the narrative that I never trusted this process and am doubtful of the people who pushed for it - my doubting and frustration seems to be working so far, but they seem really convinced that they've basically solved the game.

So my plan as of now is to use my character role to send someone a message, and then use that to make claims that my message ended up somewhere unexpected, and any results claimed by PRs must be mixed up.

Here's what we have to worry about tonight:

Town PRs:
- Engineer will most likely check either darkside (bad), nin (bad), or possibly Fate (bad), or myself (good)
- Guardian Angel will most likely protect Engineer
- Doctor will actually probably not use their Doctor power, and use their character instead (because Sparks's role is obvious)

- Bug: They may or may not use Nexus (randomizes all targets except kills), this will be very useful for us spreading CHAOS

Character powers (that work at night):
- Raqio: If Raqio moves tonight, they will either check the Guard Duty players to confirm them, check me against a claimed Crew, or maybe check Fate or LP against a claimed Crew.
- Comet: only has 1 shot, but could use it to confirm the Engineer's results
-Remnan: Motion detector, likely to act tonight. They check to see if a player moved at night (but not who they target)
- Shigemichi: this role will look for Stella each night. Not a big deal, but they could show up in Remnan results
- Yuriko: Worst case for us, I think, Is Yuriko learning that Nin is Stella, which would warn Shigemichi not to vote him out.
