It likely depends on what your item does. It changed per player as some would get extra shots, stronger shots (getting past protections), new abilities, or a wider range to hit (like hitting two people instead of one).

Hedin: uses 1 Copy shot on EC, copies Team Doctor 1-shot (so we have a spare)
Blarg: uses Water Bend on Hedin to allow Hedin to also Copy some random player's 1-shot Power too

So the Lightning Rod is an item they have to activate/use?

If for example, I give it to someone, can they activate/use the Lightning Rod the same Night I give it to them?

Or do they have to wait until next Night to activate/use it?

Wait is it an item that you have to activate/use, or it just like "while you're holding it, you're a Lightning Rod passively" kinda thing?

As Godfather, any cop scans pulled by the Lightning Rod will be ineffective, and we confirm EC as solid Town

EC doing it doesn't inhibit the use of the Team Doctor shot (I know y'all are hesitant to use it this early but c'mon this is a chance at full-game OMNISCIENCE)

If y'all agree to have Hedin Copy EC during this, we get to use Team Doctor AGAIN afterwards

WE LOSE NOTHING

GAIN EVERYTHING

Hedin has a Switcher ability; if I gave EC a Lightning Rod and he used it, and then Hedin used the Switcher ability on EC and ________ (someone else), would that ??? player become the new subject of the Lightning Rod? Would all Powers/actions be sucked towards that player instead?

If EC uses his Team Doctor 1-shot, so is empty, but then EC somehow gets my "Wildcard" item (which allows unlimited use of someone's Power); would EC be able to use Team Doctor again and unlimitedly? Despite being at 0-shots left (if he already used the 1-shot)??

more query:

If EC uses a Lightning Rod, but then I somehow die during that same Night (let's say for example, I use Fire Bending on Sawneeks which makes our factional kill unstoppable? Then Sawneeks kills me that same Night while the Lightning Rod is in use), would the Lightning Rod in effect make it so that EC sucks my Wildcard from me? Because it says normally it would go to someone random on my death... would the Wildcard be transferred to a person using a Lightning Rod, if I died that Night??

No, wouldn't get sucked because Wildcard is gifted once the night ends, so the lightning rod doesn't play a role. And also Fire Bending wouldn't work like that, Sneeks would've killed EC.

well for posterity I'm gonna post the draft of my plan from b4 I knew all of these rules of nature preventing it from happening:


N1:
Blarg vends Lightning Rod item to EC
Blarg uses Air Bending (I dodge the 1st Night-action used against me Tonight, just in case)
Hedin uses Copy on Blarg (to get another Lightning Rod shot)

N2:
Sawneeks stores our Night-kill for later (as Cannoneer)
EC activates the Lightning Rod
Hedin uses Switcher 1-shot to swap EC & ________ (we make somebody the new subject of the Lightning Rod effect, instead of EC)
Zook uses Trap on ________ (whoever that Switched player is)

N3:
Team objective: survive
Hedin gifts EC another Lightning Rod (the Copy made from me during N1)

N4:
EC activates the 2nd Lightning Rod
Blarg uses Fire Bending on Sawneeks (makes our factional kill Unstoppable; and, since Sawneeks had saved the kill up, she gets to kill me plus another player. The Fire Bending will theoretically allow her attacking to not be affected by the Lightning Rod in play, so she doesn't end up killing EC)
Sawneeks kills ______ (insert whoever here)... & also Blarg (when I die, I gift the "Wildcard" item but to someone at random; BUT, since the Lightning Rod is in effect, the Wildcard item should be pulled towards EC upon my death, so EC gets the Wildcard. This therefore allows EC to use Team Doctor shot UNLIMITEDLY for the rest of the game)
Zook uses Trap on EC (just in case we get to see anyone we missed the 1st time)

I realized that I didn't specify something, if you don't use the faction kill you can do 2 actions, if you do the faction kill you can do 1 and the faction kill.

Well if I do it now we get the backup team heal but also an extra power up to use. 3 out of 5 could be good to power up?

The powerup would be like if you received your flavor name specific item. It will provide some benefits but no telling what they could be. Could be extra shots, could be unlocking unknown abilities, no clue.

I think it might be a better idea to wait. If the upgrade works for us and is good I should still be able to copy tomorrow. If its a dud then maybe we wait until a good target shows up otherwise.

Well good news bad news!

Bad news first. I was apparently hit with something which makes me vanilla today and takes my ITA down to 10% chance.

Good news. EC's upgrade worked. What I got was all shots that you all started the game with. I'm still limited to 2 actions if I don't carry the kill but I guess I am now a super duper universal scum backup who got his stuff early.

Actually correction/clarification on that good news. I was upgraded to a universal backup that gets all of the starting shots if you die, I don't get everyone off the bat.

That's just trading money amongest ourselves which we can already do, would be better to get town money. The only reason why you would do it with one of us was just to get some teammate interaction.
