It absolutely was the right play and I considered this a few times but I had to stay consistent so Muffin had to always be my fake target because that was the lie I had been living in for days. The other version of the plan was to kill Chuggs and claim that I jailed Muffin so it must be melon but I think that, honestly, better version of the plan had one big weakness. The stopped kill was shinier, it made it look like I did something even if the game state didn't make total sense.
That was a really cute read through the spec chat, thank you all. I'm always trying to put on a good show when I play mafia. melon is my end game MVP, they really had the tools and foresight to take me down but it's not lost on me that I was draining morale from everyone like crazy and that was making it harder for everyone to put the pieces together.
Personally, I will say that my biggest scum tell through it all was not following up on Blarg stuff after he died. Blarg is an insane solver and it's not just this game, he's always been like that. I could never play town as good as he does. If I had been town, I would have been going back to his posts way more often for advice on who to chase. You have to figure out how to cut through some of the extra fat but he always has the answer key posted by like day 3 or 4 in every game he plays as town.

Also, I think I was little bit weaker at keeping up the last two days just because of holiday stuff but after Alex died, I turned scum chat into my personal sound board/blog/screaming into the aether so if you want to follow my mental state and what I was thinking, it's mostly there. I was sometimes directly responding in scum chat to something that was said in the game chat so you might need to cross reference times if you really care.

Tbh I thought your tell was how eager you were especially during the second half. A constant, high volume presence early into phases and right at the end of them too. Tired/demoralized town is a bit slower and posts shorter messages, I'd think.
Also the fact you just straight up demanded everyone explain their role while keeping yours close to your chest. Kinda perplexing how you got away with that.
I feel like I really only did that with Chuggs? I actually was fairly ill informed on roles at the end. I don’t think I knew melon’s full role. I kind of assumed Zipped was bluffing because he was inconsistent on how he talked about his role but I didn’t really press the way I would have since I kind of had to stick to my plan anyway and hope that nothing interfered.
I also really tanked myself with my fake claim and I was doing everything possible to just not talk about roles when I could avoid it.
Ah that doesn’t count. I was open wolf in there, that was just me negotiating with a neutral on even terms
