I don't know why these are breaking like this.
But to sum it up, Neeks pushes back on Malus in kind of a weird way, but I honestly don't think she does that if they're scum together. This is again kind of weak, but I think Neeks is a good enough player not to do this and this legit reads like she thought me and Cap were scum together and were trying to direct attention elsewhere.
Fran links Wiz and Malus together in a way that would make me feels really really good about him if they turn out to be scum together and less so if they're not. Don't love that Fran isn't actually pushing this, but gut reaction is Fran is probably fine here.
Don't love the Wiz post
What makes you think the end of the train is town?
It was a four way tie at some point, all town?
Yeah same honestly
Wait where did I say that, I liked voting for Neon just fine
Just wanted to quote this because I never really got this impression from Wiz
Well, so much for that...
Like who?
I kind of agree with this. We had four wagons going, why would Scum try to start a new one? Even if there was Scum on the block, there were plenty of alternatives to be pushed instead.
What do you think would be the motivation for Chuggs to start a new wagon so close to EoD? If you think he's protecting somebody, which wagon do you think is the most likely to be Scum?
Doesn't think scum would start a new wagon and gives me some defense here.
All that work, only to land on the most wishy washy Scum reads. I get that you just got burned by pushing Neon out, but that looks pretty weak.
Wishy washy? No man I think Muffin, Geno, and Nat are scum there's no "wellllll maybe?" there
I'm gonna defend myself a bit when I get to his next response.
From the people on the Neon vote I don't like nin and I'm not sure about malus either, voted there purely for XP and hasn't really played much. I need to read Captain and Chuggs again to see if I agree with others who scum read them
This post kind of stinks. Just keeping Malus there but the furthest away from actually pushing there, and I have no idea why he singles out Malus of all people just based on this post.
It reads a bit like you don't want to be the sole pusher of those reads though. Also what about the Cap read?
Once I'm back from work I'll have to see if I can get my vote graph tool working again, so I can do some wagon analysis.
As a general observation, I feel Scum often avoids the last minute shuffle for fear of looking sus, so one of my objectives today is also looking into the people that parked their vote earlier or stayed off wagon altogether.
This is some grade a shade and it's real weird because he's been mostly defending me up to this point. Have a bit more on this later, but Malus ends up doing this again later and I'll make note of that too.
Also want to bring up one his earlier points about calling me wishy washy because I actually think this looks good for Muffin and I want to talk about why later.
As for the votes that followed - it's quite possible that there's a meanie there grabbing for experience, but I think getting the train going would have been more important. Again, I don't know if Cap would fall in to the middle or late ground of voters, I can see his timing either way. Wiz and Malus may have had motivations - Wiz in breaking a tie, which could have helped scum to avoid a no kill, Malus is hopping in after a quiet day. Like Nin, Malus could be another low flyer, I can't rule that out. Blarg's vote was very... Blarg, and Zipped was going for experience. By the time that the last two votes went on, though, I think the deal was done. Having said that, though, Zipped's vote does fly in the face of his warning about the experience rule promoting clumsy hammers.
Here endeth the wall of text. I think there's a meanie or two to be found on that train, and I'm still of the opinion that voting relatively early would have been more helpful to scum to make the train work. Added to my concerns about playing quietly, and I think Nin's vote is the one that I'm most suspicious of.
VOTE: nin
Alex is also linking these Malus and Wiz together in a way that would make me feel very good about him if that's correct. nin vote is kind of wack, but I still come out of this feeling pretty good about Alex
Sorian was the name that I was thinking. He is usually a target and he was pretty townreaded for once. I also was a possible target, noone was scumreading me (at least on paper). Chuggs was townleading but him being the one who pushed most for Neon's lynch could explain why he was not a target.
And with this I'm not shading Sorian. I think he is town. I'm saying that maybe Febe was onto something and scum targeted him for that.
You know that the WIFOM defence isn't so good when you are so selfconcious about it, right?
Is that true with the current game that we are playing? We still don't know if scum doesn't need xp for their abilities but if they do it benefits them to jump on wagons. Also, as xp is a limited resource, every xp that scum gets is xp that town doesn't. With the rules of this current game I don't think that observation is correct.
So, Malus, why did you voted Neon? Based on your posts you didn't had a read on him:
Why jump on that wagon?
I guess it's always a good idea to see what reads the night killed player had. I haven't done a full reread yet, but if it was for the Turmoil push, then Sorian was there as well. Do you think Scum was afraid he would be protected?
Yeah, I guess the xp could be an incentive, but I still think Scum would at least hesitate to put themselves in the open too much.
I admit, it was mostly for the xp. I didn't have a read on him, and I wasn't going to get a full reread in a couple of minutes. At the same time I had a Town lean on Chuggs and the Captain wagon was dead anyway.
As you said xp for Town is xp that Scum doesn't get, so I think it should be in our interest to get as many votes on the final wagon as we can since on raw numbers it means Town gets more xp than Scum.
As I said before, last night was likely the night where town was the weakest (half the roster doesn't have an ability, noone gets T2 or T3 abilities, all abilities being 1-shot making them less useful with a roster still so big). It's a bit weird that they would be worried about protections. Maybe they targeted someone who had 2 xp? Febe would make sense in that scenario. From the people who could use abilities N1 Febe was the one who were more townreaded.
And, as I also said before, I agree that Turm looks the worse reading Febe's reads.
I like this back and forth and I don't think it feels like scum talking to scum. Actually think I can confidently say I don't think it's Fran

“CaptainNuevo said:
I'll be honest, I'm not even sure where the notion of sharing XP being a possibility would come from at all.
Like, I know that Hedin specifically said we couldn't, but why were enough people asking about that prior to the game starting? Maybe I'm just selfish, but why would anyone's thought be that we should share xp to an unknown actor?
Same here. Nothing in the game specific rules made me think there was a share xp mechanic, but apparently enough people asked for Hedin to make a separate post about it.”
- Fluff about game mechanics. Nothing of substance here.
“Not a huge fan of this combination of posts. Skimming one line and misreading it is one thing, but the xp gain mechanic is pretty succinctly explained in the game specific rules, so this feels a bit too much here.
Also speculation: I wouldn't be surprised if there's a way to gain xp involving the locations we discover.”
- Didn’t like Ty’s makeup posts about the slip. There’s really nothing to glean from this because…well…we don’t have any information on Ty’s situation. The only sort of actual breadcrumb we had on Day 1…doesn’t make sense to me but it is what it is…
“turmoil7 said:
I buy Ty's explanation regarding his exp slip
I can see how the mixup could happen regarding the xp sharing, but Ty then claiming he didn't know how xp is earned comes across as an additional justification for the slip. After already being called out for a mistake, wouldn't you then go and actually read the rules?
So this dismissal feels a little hasty to me.
At the moment I'm conflicted between Turm and Ty, but for now I'll go here:
vote: turmoil7”
- I think this is a very valid reason why someone would vote for Turm after stating that he didn’t like Ty’s post.
“Sawneeks' recent posts feel like the genuine frustration I get when I put in some work into my reads and people still tell me I should put more work into my reads.
This is a bit meta, but I've cooled down a bit on my Turm Scum read because he's been the default D1 vote in almost every game I've seen him in.
I would like to get some more pressure here instead:
vote: CaptainNuevo”
- Ends up voting for Captain because of Captain insinuating people come forward with their roles but moves his vote off of Turm because of meta game reasoning. Not sure how I feel about this personally because Turm was leading at that point…
“I'll be away for most of EoD, but might be back for the last half hour or so.
I'm happy with my vote for today.”
- Says he’s happy with his vote for the day but changes to Neon at the last second. I assume…once again…because of the XP.
Lean: Null with slight Town Lean
This is a good post. It's wrong in hindsight, but I like it still.
I think this is where my reads I right now:
Town
[Any] Sorian - UTC-6 -
[They] melonrabbit|melon - UTC-8
[He/Him] HPSauce - UTC+0

[He/Him] Blargonaut - UTC+8

I still need to reread some people (mostly in my "no idea" and scum leans) but I think that I'm happy with this for now. If anyone wants to discuss any names I will be around for a while and happy to (maybe a little drunk but what could go bad with that...).
Has Malus near the bottom of the list.
Fruit vendors have been a thing forever. Their main use is to be able to confirm their role.
Tbh Muffin's tunnel on Chuggs feels a little OMGUS at this point.
On the other hand there's only a limited amount of people actually having available shots, so successfully blocking one would be easiest on N1. It also stands to reason, that the people jumping on the train for xp did so because they wanted to use their abilities.
Yeah, I guess that's the secondary purpose of fruit vendors.
The only thing making me side eye the claim a little is the rng aspect of it. There are so many abilities in this game, so why splice another one into a normal fruit vendor ability?
I would STRONGLY recommend following up on Muffin once I'm dead.
Also kind of annoyed this has kind of sucked the air out of the room because my aim claiming it midday was so we could discuss it and figure out what to do from there.
These wagons are lazy as hell too and I do not see any of these catching scum
Yeah I get the doubt. I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason for why it was designed this way, but seeing Neons and Febes flip I can't for the life of me figure it out.
Again, Malus is kind of talking out of both sides of his mouth here. We get a post defending me and then it's instantly followed up by shade. Again, more on this later, but I think his play here was hoping the votes would go Muffin into me.
I actually don't remember what this said, but my general read on doing this was Blarg looks good and not paired.
Awe, graphs. A nice little dose of nostalgia. I don’t remember like any posts from you though or what your stances are off the top of my head. Like you might be my biggest blind spot now that I’m thinking about it.
Again just really awkward.
I haven't been as active as I'd have liked to be so far.
Currently I'm warming up to a Muffin vote, mostly based on the interactions with Chuggs today.
Captain would also be an option for me. My stance hasn't changed all that much since last day phase and I don't feel he has put a lot of effort into actually bringing the game forward.
Also looking into nin at the moment, but I'm really not sure what to make of it. Would probably put off voting there for the moment.
I give Geno one more day of tunneling Ty, before seriously considering that wagon.
So far most of this is still mostly based on vibes, but I intend to look into those players a bit deeper today.
Malus wants Muffin here. Throws in Geno here, but none of these are very strong reads.
Finished reading up on Cap and there's just not really all that much there. Most of it is mechanics talk without connecting it to any reads. Even his day start post is just him explaining how to use xp and then questions to three players, one of which was nightkilled and one question was again about mechanics. The only thing that vaguely resembles solving was the question to me, but he never followed up on that.
He then puts a vote on HP for role fishing, which he later abandons when nobody takes him up on it and sheeps Muffins read on Geno.
vote: CaptainNuevo
Comes down on Cap.
Again, forgot what these said. I think Blarg looked good from these and I don't expect this to be controversial from what I remember.
Why'd you say tonight here Ty?
This feels like an attempt to link Ty and Malus in a way that I think stinks
I don't know what to do with all that information. Muffin being a gossip can be proven, but it doesn't really clear him either. Also if the shot is random, a Scum mate can just claim to have had a chat with him and then we'll have to wait another two days until the targeted shot is unlocked.
What even is this?
Throws shade at Muffin here. Malus really wants to keep Muffin in the conversation.
So here's my Muffin point and why I think Muffin comes out of this looking pretty town aside from that last Malus post which I actually think looks really good for him.
Muffin ended up calling me wishy washy earlier as well after Malus did and I had made a note of it against his favor because it felt like to me that he was just copying what Malus said. With Malus looking like scum here I actually end up on the other side of this. I don't think scum links themselves together like this and I think it actually ends up being a pretty good look for Muffin here.
People I think he's unpaired with: Alex, Ty, Fran, TWE, Muffin, Blarg, Melon, Zipped, Turms
People I think he could be paired with: Wiz, Nat, Geno
If there's one wrong in there, it's probably Alex but I come away thinking he's good too
Other things to note. Before the reveal of the red check Malus spends a lot of time asking about the shop person in a way that makes me think that's not a role he's paired with. I don't think anyone would consider whoever shop person is would be scum, but I just wanted to note that.
People who I do not feel strongly enough in the interactions to pair or unpair are Sorian, Aeleeks, and nin. Sorian has shockingly few interactions with the slot. Ael just didn't do much after repalcing in so I'm actually not going to hold that against them too much. Actually came away from this feeling better about this slot. nin feels like the most unpaired person on the planet and I wouldn't read too much into this. If there's a deepwolf somewhere it's probably Sorian, but I would not entertain this until late game and he's probably going to die as soon as he manages to actually push me out and that's probably the reason he's still around if I had to guess.
