Is there any reason a turbo would be so bad right now? There's only about an hour left in the day.

If you are townie and place a hammer on another townie, that is a way of getting easy scumreads on you next day

On the review thread, I believe zipped, mentioned it as something about our community meta that we should probably work on.

Also, some people may log in justbefore the deadline to see how things are going and could be pissed if they see a hammer in which they had no say.

Oh, yeah that makes a lot of sense, thank you for explaining.

I'm really annoyed that Kalor didn't post a single actual read in this entire phase, only showed up when pressured, and got away with it.

Which means I'm officially rooting for a hypothetical neutral.

My current theory is that Kalor is scum, but his role is so valuable they needed to risk suspicious votes to get at least one night from him.

I'm also really not sure how a Geno lynch even went through. Maybe I'm not reading close enough but all I saw were either 'he's just acting scummy' or 'he's being aggressive.' Kalor was so much more suspicious.

Those votes are wild. Seeing what town makes of it tomorrow will be something.

Sorry for my attitude comrade, it fucked up day 1 and it's my fault.

Next time you're on the chopping block like that, just go aggressive with scum hunting. Go straight down the list starting with your top scum and just pressure them as much as you can. Scum don't want opposition like that, and you have nothing to lose. Yeah you will probably get lynched anyhow, but maybe you'll out scum in the process, or shift votes away from you.

When you have nothing to lose, you have everything to gain.

That's true, but there was also a problem that at the final hours I was closing the gamefaqs game I was running and all my focus was shifted there, I came back in the last like 20 mins and said fuck it I'll wait till the last minute.

Ahhh. Yeah, I can see how that'd be an issue. This is why we don't let people mod and play (or run two games at the same time) here, lol. XD

The difference between this game going the right way and the wrong way is like one vote and that is very discomforting to watch

If you're super invested in this game going "the right way," I have some very bad news for you. Your game is not ever going to go "the right way." That's not a commentary on you, that's just life as a gamerunner. You've set up a bunch of dominos. The players are going to knock them over. Some of them will fall the way you want them to. Some of them won't. Sometimes you'll want to scream at them, because you're above the fog of war and can see everything clearly, while they are blinded by suspicion and paranoia. But you have to let them play the game.

Welcome to gamerunning.

Good thing you're about to start hosting, right?
Lol yeah good timing on that, but still not an excuse for my attitude, I really feel bad for fucking up day one, feel bad for myself for just not being able to reach a point where I should've been after 4 years of playing, feel bad for me not being to fix myself being a defeatist with everything and feel bad for comrade because what I did was borderline modkill. I stopped playing to win and started saying bullshit.

I like to compare game running to a game of Saturn Bomberman. You've provided the system, brought the controllers and the multitap, and picked the rules. But you have no way of knowing just how incredibly insane the game itself is going to play out, or who will blow themselves up by accident.

Don't feel too bad about yourself. Town still got some decent info out of your lynch, and it's better a vanilla townie got mislynched then a power role.

I'm pretty sure this day actually revealed scum :P

Kalor keeps getting away with it!

Comrade I thought that Geno was scum or some weird role thanks to your hypepost :^{)

Will chose my scumpicks later

Am I reading the new tool correctly in that some folks ended d1 without an active vote?
Yeah. CoolestSpot unvoted with one or two hours left, and DCPat unvoted after Geno showed up at the end.

I wonder if there's a way to add a list of those without an active vote to the tool.

Yeah, it's a little hard to glean that with the strikethrough/not strikethrough sections.

Ty on the other hand, I just have a bad feeling about him, minus faddy who is in a bad position his opinion on other players switches way too quickly and for no reason.

So Ty and CS seems to be scums to me, Kalor either want to cement his LP playstyle from now on or he is a scum as well, I will go for the former rather than the latter.

Day 1 is such a cluster ... It seems to boil down to just not offending anyone or give anyone something to latch onto.

From our game and this one, it really does seem that D1 is as random as it can get. Anything and everything can set people off. But to be honest it's kinda understandable since there isn't much to go with this early in the game but some like to pretend otherwise for whatever reason.

I suspected Ty4on too :o
Those switching day end votes did look weird

I don't like Kalor's post. Explaining what he would've done as mafia? Telling mafia that targetting LP tomorrow would be a good move? There's literally nothing that helps town in that post.

Yeah, if a Kalor lynch doesn't go through today I'll be confused. Barring anything major happening this day phase, I think there's the biggest case to be made against him.

lol that's pretty funny but I'd miss being able to form coherent sentences
Makes me think a neutral or very weird town pr is in play?

I'm just kidding :D

I love post restrictions. They're harsher than death.

You should have seen the original version of the role, before it was rebalanced. We concluded in mod chat that pretty much only Hecht would have been able to pull it off. :p

Why.
Finally, sweet vengeance.

I'm referring to Election Mafia, where Fireblend used an ability on me where I could only speak through image macros. So I used a lot of meme generator.

Finally, I have the last laugh.

That's a really interesting thread. Thank you for linking. A village core does sound interesting, but definitely not on any earlier days. I'd also think it'd be hard to find a couple players who all trust eachother in the final days? They'd be making themselves targets for NKs too, right? Since they're more trusted, working together and could pose a more significant threat together.

So Kalor hinted a PR, wasn't NK, and now he turns out to be vanilla, I am following correctly?

He should be lynched

my scum team is coolest (could we get more spoiler tags in here :( ) kalor and LP

strongest town feeling are fep, faddy, dcpat

will be very disappointed if kalor escapes a lynch today

I think Coolest is a weird neutral.

In other news, just turned in my first game design to the review team. It's gonna be a little weird. Hope to see y'all in there in a few months :P

it would be hilarious if CS's wincon is that at least half of the alive players must be haiku-cursed at some point

That would motivate him to target scum at nigth since they have a survivalist nature, and to help them during the day to not be NK and end the game asap

Well, over at Mafia Universe there is *some* explanation.

Huh. Thanks Gorlak.

What stops a Scum from infiltrating that Town group and just playing along, lynching their fellows? I can see the main issue being Scum infiltrating that and then being hesitant to lynch other Scum and outing themselves due to it. But honestly thinking it over I do see the benefits of having that 'core' group, you can basically steamroll lynches against Scum if that whole group ends up Town.

might try that in a game and see how it goes. :x

This Day Phase has been awfully quiet so far. Have a feeling Scum won't be lynched today as a result which is a shame, there's a few people here putting in some good work. :<

aka how Sneeks plays

well, maybe not the bussing so much, but playing along, yep
just never put me in a town circle ever. even if i'm an innocent child i could still secretly be scum

I'll burn your circle.

cabot

I'm against this concept in principle, as Town I'd rather go around myself determining who's Town and scum. I don't trust anyone else enough to huddle together.

I'll burn all shapes.

cabot

Why.
I didn't read the Lynch All Liars post before, and it's not entirely wrong. Town definitely shouldn't lie for the sake of survival (which is what Kalor did).

This is great coming from totally Real Buffy Mason™ *Splinter

I think LP is an easy lynch, and the mafia team are going to jump on it. Kalor just explained at the beginning of the day that if LP was NK'ed it would tell town nothing, so a lynch would only give a little more info.

I'm townreading Faddy hard because they're almost single handedly keeping the town from going quiet. There's also so little votes down rn that I think there's going to be another end day scramble :/

cabot

Why.
it's been a weird reversal with votes, everyone used to be fairly gung ho with throwing them around, now its the opposite.

I'll go back to my old vote throwing ways.

cabot

Why.
I cannot grasp the concept of town-reading Kalor right now.

His fake claim from the perspective of town makes sense.

1. You know you're Town, so lynching you is bad, so let's hint vaguely to push it onto someone I don't know is Town
2. If you're vanilla, hinting a PR is also beneficial because you could make scum waste a kill on you.
3. Instantly rolling back on it can be both, though I'd see it as more Town than scum, admitting bad play/fruitless lies tends to be more Town.

If Kalor flips town, they could probably take an educated guess that scum didn't have a strong kill. More likely than seeing through his bluff.

cabot

Why.
I must admit, I'm struggling to see Kalor/Bear scum team, but I am leaning scum more on Bear just now.

I've made up my mind. Post restrictions are fun for a few moments but are a pain in the ass for everyone involved. I don't like them.

Even more with only so few players. Taking the discussion out of mafia isn't fun.

In a vacuum, I can see your point.

But Kalor spent the entirety of D1 posting only when directly questioned, giving null reads on everyone ("Geno is sticking out but I can't tell if (...)/Grizzly (...) but hard to tell if there's a reason behind it/everyone else I'm fairly neutral on", "LP doesn't set off any alarms/Splinter is a blind spot for me right now"), and then, when it seemed like he was at risk of being lynched, he softed and gave a bunch of defensive arguments. And then comes the fact that scum targeted someone else.

C'mon, Kalor goes free with a flimsy lie, but L_P gets pressured like that?

This is hard to watch

To be fair, I'm not sure the mafia in this game are masterminds either. They didn't kill Kalor (assuming he is town) when he softed a PR, and instead went for a player whose votes last day phase could've put him up for a D2 mislynch. I mean, Ty ended up a PR but I don't think there was any way for maf to know that.

I feel like cheering for the arsonist honestly. The firefighter is dead, you can do it!!

Game is still pretty early, they can turn this around. Maybe. I have hope.

No saves from fire-kills is gonna sting though.

Am I at 10 posts yet?
Okay I didn't play my best but that was a terrible day for town.

I would've loved to make bee puns in haiku form, though.

I'm not thinking Coolest is neutral but if he is, he better go get those townie points for posting more D: I think there's a good possibility he'll be tomorrow's lynch.

I hope town doesn't try to push for a Grizzly lynch again tomorrow. I don't like that no one came to defend him iirc ):

Effective immediately, Buck Bumble will be modded by Sawneeks and Sophia. All future game-related questions or messages should be sent to us from now on. This includes Night Actions.

Please don't discuss this subject until after the game has ended. If you have any questions, please PM myself or Sophia.

Thank you.

This will also extend here as well. Please keep discussion of it until post-game. Thanks.

Actually as someone who played with you on Buffy, this game you really didn't use your full coasting strategy, you actually talked which kinda showed your town alignment but unfortunately even with your full PR claim they choose not to listen.

It kinda boggle my mind that they choose not to vote Kalor for hinting at PR (which turns out fake), while killing someone who fully claimed.

Faddy is going to be under fire on D3 unless he get NKed.
