You can talk about whatever you want here it’s a private chat. It’s a good place to bounce ideas off each other

For Stan:

I think if splinter winds up being scum or whatever it's called he's the next one to target.

Btw, you're not scum right?

i can confirm i am not scum.

i would like to say that lovers are always the same alignment, but im sure some game in mafieras past has gleefully broken that rule.

Hope all is well Stan!

I can confirm this game is not bastard enough to pair different alignment lovers together.

Figured about that based on numbers. I wonder how many more of these chats there are outside of us and the scum one.

If it's just us and them, then we can start eliminating options after the first day ends.

If splinter goes, faddy and dc are the most suspicious imo. That dc misquote is interesting considering dc meant to get my vote and not my reply to faddy. Could be reading too much into it, probably am, but it seems an odd mistake to make given that post has no highlighted text in it. Should be easy to spot the vote posts, that's the whole point.

It's a mistake I've made on the forum before though, but only when clicking into a thread from outside of the forum.

i think you are overthinking that quoting mistake, i see no reason why it would be more likely for a scummy player to make that mistake than a townie.
hell i would think that a scummy player would be more inclined to avoid such mistakes.

I just think dc might be coming in by clicking a link from a chat like this while posting from a phone.

$10 says the Ezekel will not let go of this splinter tunnel for literally the entire game.
lol, probably

Tunneling is focusing on one player so much that you lose sight of all other aspects of the game / other reads

since yall dont have any active night abilities...yeah. just hang out and chat. make out if you feel so inclined.

dragon mom

of course. no one is allowed to post there during the night phase, which is why chats like this are so valuable. They allow you to communicate at any time.

yeah normally we would discuss our sick scum reads and how we plan to get them lynched.

This being N1 means we dont really have much.

mom stop trying to ship us it aint happening

Well, apparently I was right about melon seeming odd. She's claiming she's vig and now cop (thanks to the religion thing). Either this is a trap or we just got gifted a scum.

Stantastic

Our Badminton Stanpion
oh there is (by all reasonable standards) no way that mafia will consistently have more than one kill a night. They might have had 2 of last nights kills but i would bet on it being some kind of 1-shot type deal.

Maybe Zeke did contact scum last night and this is all a cover for that.

All I know is this melon vs splint thing is just dumb and we should end it.

I keep mixing up Pat and Zeke >.<

Anyway, why the hell are we still on this day? It seems way too drawn out for what should be an easy choice.

And now this makes the 3 deaths the prior night even more worrying because they're all unaccounted for. Maybe a Serial Killer? Coulda been the religion perk.

General question: if you have a cop power that lets you check alignment, when can you use it and when do you get the results of said check?

dragon mom

Plays the Game of Chairs
Depends on how the cop power works per game design. The weak cop in this game submitted the command during the day and received his results at the end of the day.

I dont doubt we will be lynchung melon today, but damn i cant help but feel like she is town and this did involve some fuckery. Either a switcher or a framer. My guess would be a switcher that maybe knows about melon and splints rivalry and guessed that melon did get some power from D1s contest and would likely use it on splints.

Our Badminton Stanpion
A lot of it is what you pointed out withe kills being unaccounted for if melon is scum. Like why would she tell us about vigilante killing zeke while doing this gambit?
The only way i can figure that is if the zeke kill was some kinda scum 1 shot extra kill, and she told us it was a vigi kill to buy some kinda faux transparency?
But that hardly adds up as it doesn't actually help her when it comes to red cheecking a townie.

Stantastic

Our Badminton Stanpion
Also i kinda doubt kits is scum but thats just a gut read. Imma have to look closer at her before i really make a call there

Stantastic

Our Badminton Stanpion
Its particularily weird since i really REALKY doubt all 3 kills were from scum. And if at least one was from town it would be in everyones best interest for them to tell about it, especially in the face of melons play today.

Kits I'm not sold on either, especially if the power works as described.

I'm half-expecting Melon to flip town when we lynch her and this being some insane fuckery on her part.

If there is a vig, they need to come forward at this point.

Also, I just don't get Melon's play at all. Unless we were onto an important scum it makes no sense.

I have noticed, so far all the town have been Westerosi. We haven't seen anyone from Essos yet. That could wind up being the town/scum split.

Stantastic

Our Badminton Stanpion
They have said again and again that flavor is just flavor dude.
Only 1 gamer here ever had such an obvious split between town and scum role characters withou providing fake claims, and we dont talk about that game anymore.

Stantastic

Our Badminton Stanpion
And we cant have been onto an important scum, we wernt onto snyone at all. That days lynch was no where near decided.

Stantastic

Our Badminton Stanpion
They have a rivalry kinda thing going but its all for laughs. It would never cause aomethin like this.

Which brings me back to this: why suicide in this way? Did they know who the cops were? Somehow I doubt it, but still. There's only so many reasons I can think of the run this gambit. It's either to take out someone, protect someone, or make it so when the vig finally does show that we don't trust them.

I mean, am I missing something? We probably wouldn't have hit a scum on day 2 after that first lynch so the trade just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Stantastic

Our Badminton Stanpion
The best i can guess is she was counting on it appearing like its a suicidal play and hoping that it will make town doubt lynching her (much like im doing right now), as our community has a long history of town talking themselves out of obvious lynchs.
That however is an extremely risky play for basically no real gain.

Stantastic

Our Badminton Stanpion
Oh btw. You might have noticed but i dropped a bit of a breadcrub toward our loversyness umongs that subs to dubs comment. Could be useful if we end up trying to talk either of us out of being lynched.
Tho us roleclaiming is naturally a last resort as a 2 for the price of 1 is naturally pretty apealing to scum.

I noticed it. I was a little worried that the scum might pick up on it, but it was so minor that it shouldn't be an issue.

This is what I don't get. No matter what the play is, the risk is huge and the trade-off doesn't seem worth it. It's the only reason I think Splinter might have been right about Kits.

Stantastic

Our Badminton Stanpion
But i cant even see that as they must know that the first place we would look after splints mislynch (after melon) would be who splinter was gunning for.

Stantastic

Our Badminton Stanpion
Man i cant wait to spend like the entire day phase tommorrow going over this exact same discussion with everyone else, only with everyone else repeating themselves/ not listeninf/ and otherwise making an even bigger mess of all this.

Another: the average number of scum in a game, is it odd or even? I would imagine odd, to make tie votes impossible and prevent nights with no kills.

Stantastic

Our Badminton Stanpion
The jail mechanic might notify the jailwd, it might not. Iv seen it play both ways and its really just up the the gume runners.

As for the scum amount i dont think that consideration ever plays into balancing, plenty of games have had both odd and even anounts.

Sorry dude, no easy answers here.

Damn, thought I might be able to get a little more to work with if I had some more experience with the base mechanics. Guess not.

Anyway, Faddy has been getting pretty aggro.

Stantastic

Our Badminton Stanpion
yeah he is going kinda nuts, unfortunately i cant really get a read on him from it.
It doesn't makes sense form really any alignment/role.

ah, my bad, been busy.

there isnt really anything i can think to come off of the entire melon debacle, like i despite all the extremeyl mixed reactions it was just such a messed up situation i cant really fault anyone for how the acted. I supposed there is the GoG angle but im still hesitant to put to much stock in the theory of her being coincidentally jailed scum.

Apollo is definitely highest on my list of peeps to looker closer at, i think i mentioned on day 1 that his posts were just feeling wrong in a kind of insincere way and man that feeling hasn't gone away at all.

What is it with people making dumbass moves when they've got legitimately useful powers? Swear to fucking god, Zeusy should get lynched just for being that dumb.

Seriously, talk about a waste of a power. If you can pick who to put on trial then pick all scum reads. How is that hard to figure out?

Is every game you guys play like this? Just town kicking itself in the dick day after day? Does no one ever consider the fact they might be wrong?

As you can tell, I am desperately trying not to go off on this utter moron in the actual thread.

Three days in a row, we're victim to dumbass bullshit that's stopping us from taking real action. At least the fool didn't fake a red check.
