Remember when I replaced out after Town killed you and Nin in Easy Allies? I often get way more upset than the people I think were wronged.
LOL, I was kind of glad I got killed because I was busy at the time, but I felt really guilty because I felt like my bad play got nin killed. I think everybody gets emotional about these games sometimes, it's human nature in a game that in some way is about manipulating people's emotions. Personally, this might not be for everybody, but my technique is that when I'm not enjoying the game and having fun, I just don't post. I close the browser window and go do something else, same as when I'm busy at work or have other things to do. So far it seems to work ok!
Anyway, what an eventful two days!!
Here are the remaining pairs:
Blargonaut and Lone_Prodigy
Funky Dude Sparks and Poltergust
SalvaPot and nin
Uzzy and Fanto
LuxCommander and Terrabyte20xx / Stu and Verelios
The Bear and Sawneeks
Sorian and Muffin
Fireblend and weemadarthur
TheChuggernaut and MrHedin
We can eliminate Salva and nin, since Salva gave up z&z. I think we can also eliminate Muffian and Sparkstergust. It's possible that they're lying about being masons and in fact are all mafia together, but it would be so risky and it doesn't feel right with how they've interacted. Finally, I would eliminate Chuggs & Hedin, they seem townie, their role seems townie. That leaves us with:
Blargonaut and Lone_Prodigy
Uzzy and Fanto
LuxCommander and Terrabyte20xx / Stu and Verelios
The Bear and Sawneeks
Fireblend and weemadarthur
IMO either one of the vig claimants is mafia OR the mafia has two remaining karts. It doesn't seem balanced for there to be two vig abilities and only 3 mafia karts. So if Bearneeks and Firemad are both town, there's only one town between the 3 remaining karts. I would bet that it's Fanto and Uzzy, leaving Blarg/LP and the all-replacement kart as mafia. It could also be the replacement kart that's town-- that would almost make more sense with how they both stopped posting at around the same time, if something happened in their kart chat, though that could also just be a coincidence.
If one of the vig claimants is mafia, you're right that it's probably fireblend.
So, IMO, we should track either weemad/fire or Blarg/LP.
It all comes down to the same question we discussed forever. Could both vig claimants be telling the truth??
Mafia knew that claiming vig was risky, but weemad was already up for elimination and had to claim something. She knew that some of the roles that had flipped so far were an unusual design (chat scrambler, backup), not a straight mafia role, while others (tracker, bulletproof) were. Maybe the mafia reasoned that if there was a vig (which they didn't know for sure, since there could be a track ITA modifier), the vig would probably be unusual enough that they could play it off as the two roles coexisting. Actually, that's kind of what weemad did when she fake-claimed doctor in Risk. She was town, but it was the same principle, she varied the role enough that it plausibly seemed like it could exist alongside a counterclaim.
On the other hand, would tracking fireblend be effective? If they're mafia, they'll just do a modified version of your theory. We track them visiting the kill of the night, then they claim that that was their vig shot and the real doctor must have healed the mafia kill. This will be credible if they kill someone who seems slightly shady and claim that the mafia must have over-confidently gone for someone in the "town core" believing that there was no doc since z/z didn't get counterclaimed. I don't see a way past this strategy, so I don't think we should track weemad even if we think they're mafia.
track: Blargonaut
vote: Bowser's Castle
I put the command in just so we don't forget, but I'm totally open to discussing & changing it! Even change it without me if you feel strongly, that's ok with me.
As for the track vote, I just want to shake things up.
