I know the game she's talking about, it was GoT, which was my first game, and that idea of "does Scum refer to just Mafia, or any non-Town player?" has stuck with me for my entire Mafia playing career ever since lol.
Personally, I use Scum to just mean Mafia, if I'm trying to be inclusive of Neutrals in my wording, I'll say non-Town.

We're still talking gossip chat huh? Here's what really happened (I may have said this already):
I forgot gossip was a day command and spent N1 alone. N2 I invited Sans and probably would've shot her but I wanted the chance to gossip again. At least I also drew the mafia shot (allegedly). I told her I didn't chat with anyone N1 which is why Char claimed that.

im probably in the wrong or w/e and i definitely didnt play well but
i think if you get outside knowledge of who signed up to a game like this you should just sub out
you have info that no one else has and getting what felt like a blindside on d1 wasn't particularly fun
don't want anyone to feel bad or w/e but this seemed like the type of game where i could come in and try to play without stressing myself out too much and it just didn't sit right
anyways if im in the wrong (probably am) i apologize for making a stink but i wanted to get it off my chest

No you have a right to be upset. The newbie player said they were going to play before the game and more importantly the rule that you couldn't reveal if you signed up was announced, and it was definitely my bad for forgetting to tell him that costume games are normally anonymous so don't reveal if he was planning to or not.
When he claimed to be a newbie player in game, the damage was done since Alien wasn't the only player that probably saw him say he was playing, and it really should have not happened.
I'm not fully sure how to avoid this going forward except to just tell every new player that asks about costume games in general the rule, and I'll def make sure that happens going forward to prevent further cases like that.

I think it really depends on Boo. If he gets scum before he dies scum is probably fucked. If he doesn’t it’s more up in the air.

Yeah, I think the arsonist angle kills our chances here. If Boo wasn't in play, I can see us eventually narrowing it down to Sans and Pazzo. However, Boo doesn't seem to be scumreading Sans or Pazzo at all (at least not publicly). He could be hiding his reads because he suspects one of them might be scum and wants to leave them alive for today so he can douse them, but I have no idea how likely that is. At least for right now, it seems he's not going to meet his win condition before murdering another chunk of town players.

So my fave thing about being a reviewer is helping review a game and then not actually participating in on mod chat (unless I get asked to help of course which I'll do in a heart beat if requests) is I have to guess who is what role and on top of that I usually do not remember the roles usually LOL.
HvV 3 was hella hilarious to me for that reason because I remembered some roles clear as day but not others.
Anyways for this game I had forgotten most of them except for like that The Ghost of Stealin' Stan was Stealin' Stan lol and Strikes was town (forgot his role lol, I thought he was a lighning rod
)
But the one role I remembered clear as fucking day (outside of scum having a costume thief and someone guessing who players are), was that Boobeard is Scrappy the neutral arsonist.
So out of everyone in this game, the one I'm rooting the most right now is Boobeard, because his player really is a newbie and he's doing a great job considering. I've been secretly rooting for him all game. c:
