Mad as in angry, or mad as in crazy?
Why do people keep saying a jester winning would end the game entirely? Since when does one neutral leaving a game cause an end to it?

Votes are slowly piling up on Zipped but almost reluctantly. Quite a few are going off wagon to see what happens.

This likely means a scrambly day end where 3 people claim and then someone is unexpectedly voted out.

Yeah, it wouldn't really need to end the game. That said, it's still a trash role because it's braindead easy to succeed with and does nothing but stall the game. It's really easy to just fake a slip or act like an idiot and get voted out. If someone legitimately wanted to do one they'd need to make it more interesting. Something like be voted out in MYLO/LYLO as a more mafia aligned neutral or something. Give em a BP vest and tell them they will be informed by PM when the game is in MYLO/LYLO.

Just put in a couple vigilantes and watch showboating jesters get fucked by vig shots mid-d1 lol

I think it also depends on the community meta. When we used jesters sometimes they were just straight jesters but a lot of times they also had conditions on them. Sometimes they would be a vote bomb, other times they could be a ghost and take a revenge shot or do some other weird beyond the grave stuff. Basically there had been enough variation in there that there was some potential risk in voting out a potential jester.

Going to be interested in seeing if there will be a 3rd train started. It doesn't seem like anyone is really that eager to vote out Hawthorn or Zipped right now.

I've always heard of Jesters as a game-ending role. If you ran it as just "you win if you die" then that's less egregious, but it still kind of feels like wasting a spot in a setup. That player isn't going to really contribute much other than noise. And we all know how frustrating that is.

I guess you could do it if you needed to balance a strong town against a weak scum team, I suppose.

It's not like we're in the habit of designing games specifically to confuse and frustrate players. I don't know where you would have possibly gotten that idea.
I'm just saying that a vig or two is a great hedge against a jester who wants to just walk in and fake slip on d1. Any vig who doesn't take that shot isn't worthy of holding the gun.

Let us all be Vincent Alexander with a gun. That man is the vigilante king. (Except for that time in live mafia with Rover, which was WILD.)

I definitely would have preferred leaving geno alive for a day because the result of voting him off yesterday has basically caused day 1 to repeat since no real wagons were formed yesterday. That's me though, I wanted to leave Mao alive in Transistor even when he lied about tracking EC in that game lol.

Fran I know my neutrals are hard as shit to win as, that's why I always give them 100 different things, so at least it's fun to play :P.

I mean you were right and we will be having two new guests. But events could have been so much more interesting.

Even if I am convinced that Launchpad doesn't have town's best interest at heart, I can't help but feel like at least one of those votes was due to trickery of some sort.

I personally find two scum teams hard to believe, but it is a bastard game I suppose
I think if we get one more night of two townies dying, no scum today and the game doesn’t end then that will bet guess.

not that we could win at that point, but merely play the game to figure out which scum team beats the other…
