I agree with HP that bucket claiming was the way to go, and then mass claiming when scum infiltrated the bucket. Not getting alignment flips is like everyone being tailored. It's almost impossible to see the game state, and in this kind of game when you can't just kill all scum because a neutral could win, that's important. Getting ahead of the flips was pretty much town's only play here.

That said, definitely a fun and interesting game to be a part of.

Fate you convinced me in the end there. Maybe if I was around at EoD I could've fought harder for you.

We need to be able to put votes down and see where folks go and if anyone tries to push elsewhere etc and we can't do that until the grovel is gone since anyone with a vote on you is vetoed for the day on your slot.

Is their understanding correct? Wasn't sure if grovel only cancels the existing votes or also makes malus unvoteable for the rest of the day.

Grovel is literally just a diplomat, you can't be voted out the day you use it. If someone keeps their vote on malus it will be wasted, and the player with the next highest amount of votes will be voted out instead. They can also just... move their vote if he Grovels. There's no freezing of the votes lol

So if malus uses grovel, then everyone votes after grovel, their votes are wasted? And if malus say voted rover just before eod, making him the second wagon, he'd win?

Zipped is playing it right. If he dies, town doesn't lose and gets one day to figure out whether to vote Malus or Rover.

Interesting how the game has played out. Town only missed when voting out Fate, yet they could lose if they hit scum today. I suppose there was always a chance that scum would hit the Bug or AC Follower at night, but scum has been... unpredictable to say the least.

wasnt really possible for scum to hit the ac follower this game (because they got themselves killed day 1)! Or for us to hit a bug either!

I wish we did some stuff differently but we definitely wanted to keep the bug alive the entire game, that was 100% part of the strategy. Town never made it a priority at all to bug hunt especially after the way the claims played out. In retrospect scum strategy was not the best approach to winning but I also feel like the way town played it was also not actually their best route to winning either and its definitely put bug in the best position possible here. I feel like Zipped got that pretty early on though, especially when he was going out of his way to try to give me some rope to save myself lol :(

Town classic of someone outlining the right path for the day and getting ignored because people want to rush things. We've all done it and this is exactly why town wins so few games here.

Congratulations Malus! Well fought @karkador, the united federation of Gnosia are proud of you, couldn't have been a more hype day.

Town, you were on the ball the whole game. Mad respect. Thank god we took out Launch early, because a stronger town core would have been crushing.

Very fun game to be a part of, and it came at the right time and finished at the right time, as with Persona 5 coming out this Friday and Pokemon in a month, dunno that I'll be having the time to devote to mafia until, like, January.

I had to study every role really carefully on that first night, so sometimes there were things about the roles I knew, but couldn't let on about.

Also the "OP" thing I was really excited about (that I could send letters and kill once I was the last scumleft) was apparently something nobody even noticed, nor did it make a difference in the end lol
