it's a great game, with all ups and downs ~ and most importantly the best theme ever, really looking forward to buffy 2 ~0~

I'm gonna turn it in for review this weekend!

Yeah, it was just really weird when you were confirmed town and then were extremely passive the final days. As a confirmed town, you should be leading convo as much as possible.

Overall, it had a lot of good moments. I enjoyed playing with all the old crew. Being Buffy was neat for my comeback game. Pairing up with Fran was strange and new and I enjoyed sparring with Include while it lasted. Splinter, for the record I did consider saving you. Um, I was 110% wrong and unhelpful but that's pretty normal for my play (and also, town is doomed.) Again, normal for me. I probably won't be playing again but it was nice getting a chance to see everyone again and play mafia a final time :)

I think apart from lylo a power like that is usually best left alone. 9/10 you're hurting town by keeping an unresolved player in the game.

When it was put it, it was a way to save the friend if needed but we knew it would be pretty situational. Was an interesting take on an override that I wanted to try.

I liked the idea for it but couldn't think of a good time for it. Almost used it on Splinter.

Yeah, I just saw that as I was typing it, but I think in most cases the mason claim alone is enough being it's such a strong confirmation.

Just gonna address some things I saw here really quick! I didn't know posting notes was against rules or a scum looking thing. I just thought it was a funny one off thing and won't do it in the future.

Also, deleted melon from my reads in ughhh, that horrible post, because I saw she died and it took 2 seconds to delete a word. I understand how important being consistent is now, and I won't fix up things like that in the future. But I don't think I'll have to worry about that cause I've been very scared off of pre typing anything. Hope to play better with you all in the future.

Sorian pointed out a few pages back that posting pictures of your notebook isn't allowed some places. We don't have any rules against it currently though.

FYI, a lot of communities ban showing pictures of their personal notes. Anything can be faked obviously but usually seeing what someone's hand written notes are of can tell you exactly their alignment since it tells you what they are prioritizing looking at.

This silly girl says hi! You guys... I was so embarrassed for posting my role PM, I was blushing for hours and I am not the blushing kind. I didn't understand the rule 3 as it was, I thought my own role didn't apply to it as it was part of the game and didn't involve outside infos (honestly for silly people like me it would be nice to add it and avoid future issues).

I am looking forward to read your advice and suggestions, I would love to know what I did wrong during this game and how to improve.

Meanwhile, I am still tunneling into brazil as a scum, not sure about the last one since GOG claim.

You did very well for your first game. I kind of know how much time goes into those super deep posts; I used to do them myself when I was eager to spend 4h a day playing mafia. Your posts on D1 read too much like conspiracy theories. With as little info as you have on D1, it's better to stay on a more shallow level. Once you have Scum flips you can (and should) look back at your D1 notes (that's also a thing I stopped doing because I'm lazy -_-) and can make your analysis from there. Building whole Scum teams and interactions in your head so early in the game only skews your perception.
I have to admit that I stopped really registering your posts after D1. I quickly glanced over them, but I was kind of in the "Yeah, let her have her conspiracy theories for her first game; it's half the fun of beginning" mode. Now that I write it, it sounds quite disrespectful (And I'm sorry if you feel disrespected), but as others have said: Reading big posts takes effort and especially in this game I didn't have too much time to invest. That's why I subbed out.

Now they should lynch between Brazil and Nicole and guarantee 1 kill in the next 2 days.
Now GoG doesn't have to use her block tonight and can wait until only one confirmed scum left. She can also announce her pick and it will also act as a green check.

And Brazil is the obvious lynch here. His Blarg reads are the smoking gun imo.
Nicole and GoG are obviously not scum together so kill Brazil. If he is scum GoG blocks her target providing a green check. If GoG hits then it is game.
If she misses Melon, Nicole and Gotham check are green for the next day.
5-1 with 3 confirmed towns is a super strong position and almost a guaranteed win.

Eh you have some roles that can work as town or scum; investigative roles, role blockers. The purpose in the game design will be as a counter, but the role could work as either alignment depending on the game. The virgin counter part of a hooker only makes sense as scum.

IMO, mentors should be allowed to discuss absolutely all aspects of Mafia, including contextual tactics and big strategy

I also think that all mentor-mentee discussion should be had in the actual game thread instead of via PM or private chat, but that's just me.

I mean, for me it's more interesting when the other players can blow up mentors for apparently bad advice. Way more interesting when the mentors have to navigate how to answer newbies' questions without giving away their mentees' Roles

Basically, I want mentors to be like lawyers for the newbies, complete with telling their clients to shut up, complete with lots of nervous sweating and guilty consciences

If I ever host a game, this is the way it will be for mentors
