The principle: scum wants the strong kill.
The result: scum doesn't get the strong kill. Either no one sacrificed their powers, or someone else also went for it.
Side-note: Both Fandorin and I thought it was risky to go for the cop check because others would do it too. I think most townies would've avoided it, and therefore I don't think three townies went for it. This is just probability, though.
Scum comes into the thread and finds this post:
I got an item and am willing to reveal it. I was expecting that no town would sacrifice, so I'm leaning towards scum being within this player group.
Which means someone sacrificed their powers, and that someone else other than scum also went for the strong kill.
Since the other players are seemingly open to revealing their information, the scum player needs to find a way to position himself publically as well.
Then, someone else reveals the perfect cover:
Why wouldn't a town player sacrifice? I would if I had a power. Unless it's like a really amazing power, powers only take town so far.
I asked for the cop check. Ironically, I wanted to use it on you.
I assume you didn't get it then?
Nope. I guess someone else wanted it, too.
The scum player can now claim to not have an item because they also went for the cop check. "The other person that went for the strong kill can have a hard time explaining their choice; I'm in this."
The scum player can't quote the person who provided the cover as to not make it obvious that they were waiting for that post to reveal themselves.
Another player, who is way more open with their own information and who also claims to have gone for the cop check, does the exact opposite of what Zeke did - he says it outright in his first post, and he quotes Monkey as he isn't afraid of the bad optics of being the second player to claim to have reached out for a specific item.
Well lookie here, same as me. I was going to go for Gorlak or Nan but hey it is what it is.
Sacrificed my power though so no more item/power warping from me
I'm laying this out here in a way that is very easy to understand because I don't want this discussion to seemingly end in a "stalemate" like melon x Zeke.
Maybe I'm wrong, yes, but I'm not crazy. And the fact that Zeke's response to this whole thing was basically an attempt at gaslighting me (the typical scum response to being caught with their pants down) reinforces my belief in this theory.
Nope, just a quick post.
There's a methodology to quoting a post.........I've heard it all.
