None of my regular pirate abilities are continent-locked, so I sort of assumed the Godzilla ones aren't either. But would be good to have confirmation.

Do you not want to try for Sorian then? I actually still kind of like that plan.

I see now what you meant about avoiding hitting five, we don't have a limited pool of recruit actions, just a stop at 5.

I love root vegetables, so delicious.

The question is, do we want to prevent the NK? I feel like we want the number of players to be going down so that we can get to majority sooner. On the other hand, you are a possible target, and I could claim it later which would help my town cred, so there are benefits.

Down to rob Flush though.

I would say we don’t want to prevent the night kill; we just don’t want it to land on one of us and we want to take control of it as soon as possible. It’s unlikely I’ll be targeted while co-located to Zipped; too much WIFOM. You’re getting suspected a bit, so they’ll avoid you. Plenty of better targets for scum. I also think it’d be fruitless to try to prevent the NK without knowing the rest of the scum team; I didn’t think of it earlier, but they’ll delegate the NK to someone who isn’t suspected to prevent being blocked. I do wonder who the remaining 1-2 are. Fando wasn’t giving me lying vibes with the role claim, but could be wrong. Maybe stan? Probably someone I’ve been townreading.

Theft on Flush is a go. If there’s anything there, your kill and theft will take priority over them passing items between each other. Hopefully I can get my item back tomorrow!

OK, here's my thoughts on how coming forward would look if we do that plan.

Hi, I'm revealing myself. I am a pirate and cult leader. Before he was recruited into the cult, nin was a town pirate. My name is Blackbeard. I have nothing to do with Davy Jones or the Flying Dutchman. In fact, the Dutchman struck first in our naval battle yesterday. I retaliated, but the net result was that I lost all my points. All of my abilities as a pirate are tied to points and they all work intercontinentally.

Also I control the Godzilla monsters-- this was an upgrade to my pirate role which I won from submitting my song cover. I have a number of additional powers tied to Godzilla. For example, one is a vigilante shot. I [shot at/killed] ATP last night.

However, the Godzilla upgrade wasn't all good for me. It changed the cult win con. Geno told me that Godzilla was always designed to screw over the players a bit, and it just happened to affect the cult because I was in it.

The new cult win con is that we have to survive to the end of the game. We won't leave the game after 5 any more. My recruitment shots were also reduced, I guess to stop me from just converting the whole player base to the cult. I have one shot left, and Geno hinted that there's the possibility of gaining one more.

N1: Salva was roleblocked (he was in ??? with Verelios and Aeleus)
N2: Salva recruited nin (they were in Europe together)
N3: Salva was in Asia with Stu, Commander Razmos, Terra and Aeleus. He was roleblocked again OR he tried to recruit Stu and it failed due to masons being unrecruitable OR he gained a one-shot intercontinental recruit power from some mystery source and tried to recruit Royal Flush.
N4: I held back on my recruit action because I decided to come forward.

I'm ready to use my one remaining recruit shot in a way directed by town. I want to survive until the end and win with town. It will be refunded if I hit someone non-recruitable, so I can use it as a cop check.

-That's pretty much what I would post. The main issue is accounting for Salva's recruit actions if we don't want to reveal that recruits are intercontinental. Maybe staying in the shadows would be better... I'm really hoping that the recruit on Sorian is successful so we can get a third pair of eyes on this plan.

This is definitely a solid base to start throwing darts at. Good work with that. I'm a little busy with work, but I'll put my thoughts down in a bit.

Also hoping to get Sorian's eyes on it, too.

I think the explanation for N3 should be that the recruit action failed on Stu. I can say I'm not sure why, but could be that masons aren't recruitable. Then I can offer to make a cop check on Royal N5, arrange to be on a continent with him, secretly recruit someone else on a different continent, and D6 morning say that the action failed on Royal, which will be confirmed if he gets voted out. This all being if we go with the reveal plan.

So, I actually think going into the details of who got recruited when is going to trip us up. For example, if Vere and Aeleus flip, that lie is going to become obvious because only one of them could have roleblocked you, like how my roleblocks are continent-locked. I also think you saying you don't have any recruits is going to look sketchy. However, there's a good reason for you not to say who you recruited, also. What you can say is that you won't be saying who was recruited, but the assumption that only town can be recruited is correct. From a pro-town perspective, every cult member is a confirmed previously town player and saying who they are out loud will put a night kill target on their backs; from a cult perspective, that makes it more difficult for you to win, so it's not in your personal interest to say and you can be open about that. Then I can keep quietly funneling them towards the right answers. Do say there's a limit to how many you can recruit, but leave it vague in case we need to adapt the lie to fit a different situation.

I still think keeping quiet will work out better long term. The alternate scenario here is that you only claim the ship, Godzilla, and ATP vig shot, but let them ask about the win condition changing. Say it has nothing to do with you; leverage that the announcement came in as a separate post from Godzilla activating without drawing attention to it. They are unlikely to be able to disprove that. I would hold all of this back until you're pressed or unless it feels natural to claim it; don't get out in front of it if we're going the town claim route, since it may look like you're panicking with very little pressure on you.

I also think town is going to have to untangle the Flush, ATP, Fando triangle before they get back to you. Since Terra and Sorian are your main detractors, having Sorian join us will pull some of that heat back.

Let's see what Sorian says, but yes the more I think about it, the more I think I should just claim pirate/godzilla and we keep the cult unknown. And I only should claim even that much if either the shot on ATP hits successfully or I get enough suspicion that I'm in danger.

Salva was alive N3, so I didn't control the recruit action, meaning we can't use that Royal idea, unfortunately. Vague could be ok, but it is risky. I feel like I'm really turning against the claim idea.

OK, so I'm hoping that the mass confusion with all the dead players posting will provide a bit of cover today. IMO I should claim pirate only if ATP shows up both dead and mafia; shouldn't claim cult at all. Lay low today and recruit again tonight.

Yeah, Sorian could know that it's a recruit action, which would be more or less fine. I don't think he'll know it came from me.

Might try to take down Davy Jones today, depending on how many battalions the other ship has at day start.

What if we had a handful of scummy people move to Antarctica then do Plan Penguin to suss out scum? Whoever has the Golden Gear (or any of unclaimed items really) is scum. You could propose that to town as an option. It’s a rough idea but with some ironing out, it could work

I’m just spitballing here, pay me no mind if it counts crazy, but you could say “I have a way to pseudo check for scum if they move to ???. Force some scummy players to move there” so scum won’t know to move items between themselves.

Oh I see, I thought you meant I attack / move people to Antarctica. Yeah that makes sense. It would definitely reveal me as Blackbeard though, which I feel would go against the "fly somewhat under the radar" plan for today. People are already defending me on the ATP claim. How about if I hold off on using any battalions for now, do your plan if I get more suspected, or use the battalions to try to eliminate Davy Jones around the end of day if I don't?

Haha just saw Natiko’s post.

I think trying to take out Davy Jones is sound.

As for Plan Penguin, I wouldn’t save it for when you’re further suspect. You’ll get more credit for being proactive and coming up with a pro-town use for your ability, and it’ll benefit us by maybe finding useful items. It’s basically the same plan, but with a spin that makes you look town. You can pass the town items back to the players they belong to if you find them for further credit - like Sorian’s Coon Costume.

I can lie about having used the alignment check at some point. I was wondering if I could just do it on Flush right now but I don’t know how I spin it so they’ll buy it went trans-continental.

I don't think that's important enough to risk it, since you're pretty widely still assumed to be town. Maybe try to position yourself near RF for end of day, assuming he isn't voted off. We'll both get credit for suspecting him either way.

Reuniting the old team from Transistor & Risk has a lot of appeal to it.. there are enough confirmed or close-to-confirmed town now that it's not so risky than one of them will be NK'd. Also, it's pretty sweet that I just got green checked by Stan! Let's make the cult all green checks LOL

I believe the way Nexus works is if anyone targets me, it gets redirected randomly. Still a relatively new concept to me, but that's what the mafia wiki tells me.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hedin was doing a fake claim from the start. It's getting more and more obvious there is no cult of kosmos. I could see it with Natiko too, but he could go either way.

I can't use most of my risk powers today because of everybody being in Europe, so plan penguin is a bust until tomorrow. I'll come out and suggest it to the town that day. Thinking of using my battalions today to take down Davy Jones. Once and for all?? I almost asked if Blarg knows anything about Davy Jones after all those pictures, but I feel like that must be impossible based on his role pm.

I'm thinking I would like to avoid any perceived association with the changed win con. People associate Godzilla too much with the changed win con, even with this new Malus theory that I have no idea how it's supposed to work.

My claim could be just Blackbeard. The reward I got from my song was the extra two battalions per day, plus the vigilante shot. The command was "walk the plank." The two-shot item steal was an ability that I had from the beginning.

My battalions number is public, but it can be secretly embellished with a set of shadow battlions behind the scenes, but I only have a limited number of those total for the whole game. I used some of them for the item steal and walk the plank because I wanted to claim both actions if they were successful, but I didn't want to be associated with the ship left. I don't want to say how many I have left.

Hopefully they'll continue to think that Godzilla isn't even a player, it's just a Geno thing like Thanos.

Hmm it might help to write in all the fake extra abilities you're attributing to your role into the PM so you can refer to it. It'd also probably help in catching any mistakes. You should give them command names, too, in case you're asked.

OK, I've returned from the court zoom from hell. Sorry I've been so in and out this day phase.

Geno, some of the Godzilla powers can be used at night. Will those powers be usable tonight? My understanding is Thanos will appear at day start, correct?

Remaining powers:

King Ghidorah's Magnetic Blast: 1 shot draw all players in a single continent at day start. The command is Magnetic Blast
Gigan's Electrified Roar: 1 shot gain a secret vote you can place at another player at anytime with the command Secret Vote: X
Anguirus's Regeneration: 1 shot with the command Anguirus's Regeneration, you will not be able to die that night.
Rodan's Volcanic Blast: 2 shot with the command Volcanic Blast: Player, that player is roleblocked
Mothra's Silk Attack: 1 shot target a player at night with the command Silk Attack: Player to steal their items

My thoughts
-Don't use magnetic blast, only good use would be to put players in Antarctica, but would interfere with claim plan.
-Secret vote, was going to say flush, but sure why not hedin? Then can push flush more in the next day phase since we know he's mafia
-100% yes will use anguirus
-Disagree on blocking flush. I don't want to block the nk, especially since you & I will both be protected tonight. But I'm not sure who else we would want to block. Would say stan, but we've both already been green checked. Thoughts?
-remaining item steal: IMO Terra. He's listed in the spreadsheet as still having his chest item, and it's possible he's mafia & has had other items passed to him. A lot of items are listed as stolen meaning mafia probably have at least some of them.

Stan is fine. I wasn't expecting him to retrace steps to check for Cult, but we can shade scum for doing it. Not sure about a second block target.

I think it's ok not to use the second roleblock if we can't come up with a good reason to use it. In a sense, to not use a power can be to make the best use of it..
