5-7, possibly as low as 4.2, but since there's no .2 person and we don't usually skew lower, more like 5-7. So only no other faction if:
-town has a lot of negative utility
-we are all OP
Since I don't know what y'all are yet (once we see everyone, we can make some guesses)

Now, honestly, I hope someone checks me. It will result in my death, but I will almost certainly take the cop with me the next day, because I will flip town. It would also induce confusion because then people would be concerned about switches, etc. But this means that you should not try to protect me if you have anything, any redirects, switches, etc. Yeah, I mean, if checked I die, but it's also a very useful tool in our hands if we play it right.
What we want to focus on is protecting all of you. I propose we attempt to power wolf this. We do not bus unless we are in a situation in which we must, we do not avoid each other, and we just try to find other factions. Also try to find cops, etc. by looking at breadcrumbs, but obviously we never mention that kind of thing. We just slot those players into our townreads.
I will also take on my "let's get a collective town core going!" and you'll need to be townish to get in there. Relax, make jokes, ask questions, talk to people. Honestly, just try to forget you're mafia. Give yourself a puzzle every day to solve and then you're never faking. "Today I will find the cop." you're always solving that way.

I literally said to Loki the other day "I don't want to roll scum yet, I'll be deadweight, and they'll hate me for not doing voting stuff the way they do" but clearly the RNG had other ideas
I, ah, I really can't do any of that scum voting pattern wagon splitting stuff though.
Even if I tried I'd just look awfully fake, and it would send up a signal flare to the admittedly small number of people who might have paid any attention to how I've voted in previous games.
I think my best shot is just to play how I usually do and hope the masses can cover for me.
And you're right, hopefully there's someone else out there to hunt. That way I won't even really be faking

You are very good at looking townie (to my eyes, at least) because you are engaged and friendly and chill and are thinking on the page. So you'll just want to do that. I find that giving myself another goal really does help. You may find that something else works for you! It takes time, but I believe in you. <3
As for votes, the big thing is to just not all stack together but mostly we just want to vote organically first. If we're supporting a certain position, vote in a way that makes sense for where you've been and what the situation is. You'll get used to it!

but seriously my PM details are sketchy. It says we are Foxhound but it also says each night a member of the Patriots can submit a Night Kill. So are we both Foxhound/Patriots or did Nat botch it and the other bad guys are the Patriots?

I know nothing about MGS except it is complex and in one of the games you don't really play much as Solid Snake.
So saying Metal Gear is complicated is like the understatement of the forever lol. Foxhound and the Patriots are connected in various ways and at times members were aligned, and not, and there's betrayal... it's a lot. I'll have to go back and look at the timeline of the factions for MGS because it all tends to run together in my head. But like... eventually I, Liquid Snake, worked through Revolver Ocelot, a Patriot (but also look at his list of affiliations to get a sense of how this mess goes), to destroy the Patriots. So yeah. Complex. (That's after the timeline of this game, though). I wonder, if there are factions, if there's some overlap, or if there's manipulation on their behalf. Faddy's role makes me speculate a little, but I don't want to get ahead of myself. We don't know much yet.
I don't want to speculate if it's a botch - if so, I think we'll figure it out. I am also wondering how married the game is to flavor. My role makes big sense with my character. Ephi's makes sense with hers - in the fight with Vulcan Raven, you don't want to go at him head on. And you can't take her head on, either. So this one may be strong with the flavor, but I don't want to run away with it - let's not get married to any speculation on that.

I read things rather more bluntly. I think Feign's breadcrumbing some form of override and the defuse is on the nose enough that I'm even tempted to say suicide bomber. Rolling that in your first game would definitely be worthy of a vote for the gamerunner
The aversion to being on a train even makes me wonder if it would take someone else out too. Collateral damage would be a nice way to start trimming down our rather large player numbers fast.

He's looser here than he feels in thread so I'm trying to reciprocate and just be kinda hyped to be in a chat.
We commiserated on the day a bit, commented on Tony Hawk, I moaned about how I still don't trust Jman, and we've chatted a bit. But we're in the same time zone so then I assume he went to sleep like I did.
He's asked a few questions on my thoughts on things and shared a few of his own and I've tried not to cut off any suspicions and maybe see if I can adopt any of his for myself. I need some suspicions
He's sure there are scum on the ty vote, I agreed there's a lot of people on that vote so it seems likely.
He's asked if I thought Ael would try to push the Sparks train if they were scum and knew Ty was town and I regurgitated my opinions on voting for Sparks at all before seguing into thinking about it and coming down on the side of yes.
We've agreed that ATP and Chuggs were being very aggressive with each other. Of the two I think he's more suspicious of ATP but he thought it could be bussing.
It hurt not to counter that my entire experience of ATP is him being aggressive as town, but I'm definitely not pointing that out.
I guess he made a good choice though, because after this I don't really feel I can keep him on my "sus for absolutely no reason" list, lol.
I guess I need him to like me now so I'm working on making a new friend.

Convincing him to do that is quite beneficial for us, wastes another day of his PR. You'll probably soft confirm him somewhere during the game but it's good to reiterate that gossip isn't inherently a townie role.
