Looking like we got a good team here

also rule #4 there :eyes:

————

You are The Falconer and you are a Two-Shot Ninja.

You are aligned with the Villains of the Fiction Section(that is MAFIA).

You win when mafia takes up 50% of the remaining players.

As a powerful Bondsmage you can use your abilities to attack people without being seen. At night in lieu of the factional kill you may send the command Shadow Kill: Target and remain undetectable for that action. You have two shots of this power.

If you choose not to use your ability or you are out of shots, you and your teammates have a factional kill each night that can be used by submitting the command Kill: Target.

Heya!

---------
You are Andros Guile and you are a Two-Shot Role blocker.

You are aligned with the Villains of the Fiction Section (that is MAFIA).

You win when mafia takes up 50% of the remaining players.

You believe that you are the one destined to save the world and as such you go out of your way to prevent the people who are actually the ones who might be able to save the world from doing so. At night you can role block another player by submitting the command: Block: Target. You have two shots of this power.

In addition to your ability, you and your teammates have a factional kill each night that can be used by submitting the command Kill: Target.

You are Tywin Lannister and you are a Godfather.

You are aligned with the Villains of the Fiction Section (that is MAFIA).

You win when mafia takes up 50% of the remaining players.

Your grandsons may be the Kings and your daughter the Queen Regent but you are the real power behind the throne and thus will show up as vanilla town in any checks against you.

You and your teammates have a factional kill each night that can be used by submitting the command Kill: Target

Helping one of my bros move to Georgia 2mrw. 9 hour drive there, unloading stuff then driving back Saturday. So may be awol a bit in scum chat.

So when I signed up for this, didnt realize it was a fantasy book mish mash. Thought it was a fantasy star game theme or something. Knowing what it is now, looking forward to it more. Eragon was the first book I read in jr high(other than the forced crap in english classes like the jungle) and it really opened my eyes to fantasy books. Looking forward to see what characters are in. Wonder if there is any Mistborn references.

I about had a heart attack when I saw scooby doo mafia at the top of the thing. Thought I posted in the wrong thread again.

:joffrey::joffrey::joffrey::joffrey::joffrey:

I can't wait to win the megamillions/powerball jackpot so I can buy all the fantasy books I want on Graphic Audio. I would legit buy all of the Brandon Sanderson books they do on there lol.

Zeke, we gotta redeem ourselves here. This is the third scum team we’re on together, we will make it happen this time

I wanted to throw up my general strategy for this for you all to see where my head is at before we go into the night phase. I was thinking about this before Geno had claimed, though it makes this a whole lot easier.

I was going to try to be loud and drive the where town should point their crosshairs. I also think it’d be good for me to burn my two ninja shots N1 and N2 so there isn’t any unnecessary night action movement. Judging from the town audience here, there are some who will not be able to right me off without checking me. That makes things easier now that we know Geno is one of the cops (likely alignment based on him not saying tracker) and it’ll hopefully be the tracker who targets me tonight/tomorrow night. Either way, I’m trying to survive as long as I can, but I know I’m on a timer here if I go loud town voice because those aren’t supposed to last long. Better to burn my shots as soon as I can.

If Geno survives today, kenny roleblocks him and say target him tomorrow for lack of results. I’m hoping he’s voted out today, though, and we can focus on sussing out other PRs.

I think Zeke should not put kills on and stay as clean as he can for as long as he can. It would’ve been great to have him investigated but the cop being dead is even better.

@Blargonaut lay it on me, what’s your role?

Ynnek7

OH MY GOD, THEY LYNCHED YNNEK
I'm good with blocking Geno tonight if he lives. (Was already considering it before I woke up to the cop claim, lol)

Ynnek7

OH MY GOD, THEY LYNCHED YNNEK
I'm feeling like getting a vote in on Geno before having to be the hammer, just in case there is any weird vengeful mechanic. Any ideas before I do it?

I could also just hold off and try to stay off the inevitable vote.

LaunchpadMcQ

...can I smell you?
I was considering warning to not be the last vote just in case of that, too. lol

I think you would be fine either way. I don't think there's anything town will be able to parse from you voting or not voting Geno.

Wanted to drop some thoughts on night kills targets.

Top Choices:
  • Sneeks
    • + unlikely to be protected due to lower activity than normal (potentially due to having a PR?)
    • + good solver
    • - might lightly shade Zeke since she talked about the CC thing, though it's not been a huge topic of discussion
  • Funibs
    • + will continue getting townreads
    • - likely to be protected
  • ATP
    • + difficult to pocket/influence
    • + will be townread eventually
    • - if anyone has paid attention to what I've said about ATP at any point, they'd suspect me
Lower priority choices, but I'd be okay with due to past meta where they've been troublesome:
  • nin
  • Bojack
  • Leo
  • VA
Who I would leave in play for now:
  • jman
  • EC
  • Stu
  • Hawthorn
  • Zipped
  • rac

Sneeks is where I'd kill today. Seems like a safe and effective kill, and wouldn't give town much to work with.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for targets for other actions, I think Kenny should sit on the roleblocks for tonight. I didn't think of it before, but the tracker/watcher might be limited in shots, like us, and the extra movement wouldn't be worth it when we haven't identified any PRs. It also adds to the reasoning for why I should burn through the two ninja shots N1 and N2. We can see if we identify any PRs D2 and reassess whether it's worth blocking anyone on N2.

LaunchpadMcQ

...can I smell you?
I hadn't even saw the flip yet lol

Here's hoping there aren't any town alignment cops, but we can be ready for that.

Ynnek7

OH MY GOD, THEY LYNCHED YNNEK
I'm good with those choices, too. If anyone does bring up the counter claim discussion, it might be possible to turn that into someone trying to set up Zeke for the kill.

And yeah, I'll hold off on role blocking for tonight.

SHADOW KILL: Sawneeks

Command Received

Also for future nights if you want to have some fun with your kill orders that's fine with me, just make sure I can tell they are obvious kill order and/or obviously tell if you're using a ninja.

ROLE PM:

You are Bayaz, the First of the Magi are you are a Jack of All Trades
You are aligned with the Villians of the Non-Fiction Section (that is MAFIA).
You win when mafia takes up 50% of the remaining players.
No one really knows what Bayaz's goals really are but one thing is for certain his goals are his own and he will do whatever it takes to achieve those goals. As a powerful magii you have access to many abilities and once per night you may use one of your three abilities. You have: 1 Heal Shot, 1 Switcher Shot, 1 Nexus Shot.
Heal (x1): At night you may submit the command Heal: Target and protect that player from a kill action. You have one shot of this power.
Switcher (x1): At night you may submit the command Switch Target 1 with Target 2 and all actions on the targeted players will be switched to the other player. You have one shot of this power.
Nexus (x1): At night you may submit the command Nexus and you will passively redirect any actions aimed at you to a random player for that night. You have one shot of this power.
In addition to your abilities, you and your teammates have a factional kill each night that can be used by submitting the command KILL: ______

ahh I'm starved for material this game, don't even have a custom avvy. Let's see how far shitty pencil sketches take me

Ynnek7

A stronger player than me could probably make a scenario where you heal our night kill work out into guaranteed town cred, lol.

Something like have one of us claim to track you, and say that, yeah, blarg went where he said. Then either you get the cred for saving them, or if town kills you for visiting someone we'd then get the cred for tracking. (Or killed, because scum would also know that without tracking. It's a hypothetical, dang it!)

I'm really impressed by Blarg's pencil drawings, did you draw those?? Geno's not credible and needs to go. Hopefully we get mafia or an anti-town neutral, and hopefully his flip will be illuminating enough that the reactions to the three claims will give us something to analyze tomorrow, fingers crossed for both. Can't think of much else to say today.
LaunchpadMcQ said:
wow, that’s incredible art Blarg

thanks, with enough practice anyone can become as skilled as I am but I'll let you in on a little secret that nobody told me when I was starting out and honestly if I knew this at the time I would've shaved years off my grind be sure to drop me 5 stars on goodreads and a regular following on Patreon

For right now, I don’t think we should be trying to get too crazy with gambits since we’re in a relatively good spot going into D2.

That said, I love this kind of thing and I think this could work, but we need to walk through the scenarios here. If one us claims to have tracked Blarg healing another player, then we need to explain how we know it was a heal and not the kill. We also need to not be CC’d by the real tracker/watcher. Ideally, we flip whoever that is first and claim the opposite of whatever the flip is (tracker or watcher), then construct the sequence of events with that assumption. I’m hoping there isn’t a watcher AND a tracker in play. lol

I do wonder what non-gambit purpose Blarg’s role serves for our team, though. :eyes:

LaunchpadMcQ

...can I smell you?
Also, I am leaning towards Blarg saving his shots tonight, too, for the same reason Kenny should save his. Without knowing who’s sitting on what role, better to keep the night movement to a minimum while we identify good targets.

18 Player game, 4 Scum, 1 Nuetral (so far) leaves us at 13 Town Players. That probably doesn't leave enough room for another non-town team with a kill command, right?

our Power pool doesn't really lend itself to any tag team combos, unfortunately; I guess yes we could do a Doctor fake-out but ehhh. Wildest thing possible is one of you attacking me while I turn on Nexus so we get a good spray-n'-pray burst out that might be fun for a few seconds at least

I hadn't really looked at the fake claim names, but Taniel Two-shot is an interesting fake claim name to give us, since it implies having a two shot power. I guess we will need to be mindful of that.

LaunchpadMcQ

...can I smell you?
I feel like I need to say this before I go after one of you, but I'm going to do some light prodding on Blarg for inactivity that'll dissipate by day end.

Ynnek7

OH MY GOD, THEY LYNCHED YNNEK
If I ever need to be thrown under the bus by anyone, don't worry at all, I'm up for it, lol.

I also almost slipped by saying I'd look through VA's posts to see why he'd be a vigilante target, completely forgetting it could have been sneeks who wasn't the mafia kill.

Ynnek7

OH MY GOD, THEY LYNCHED YNNEK
And this may have been the fastest I've ever hit the 10 post minimum in a day phase.

EzekelRAGE

*truffleshuffle*
Think we may need to kill jman tonight? Probably one of the most townread players, not counting Launch.

Also reading over the geno claim, Jman may have slipped up and outed himself as a PR.

LaunchpadMcQ

...can I smell you?
Hmm on Jman, on another player I would definitely agree, but he also has a history of trying to bait night kills when he thinks he's more expendable. He's just been way less subtle about it before. I still think we should do it because he's being town read, but I think maybe he's bullshitting.

EzekelRAGE

*truffleshuffle*
ATP may be a good kill as well, seems ppl are cool with clearing him due to VA's flip.
Also:

Like va's flavour has nothing to do with mine despite him hunting me. So I think in this game I wouldn't put to much stock in it.
Could be a slip if vanilla townies arent given flavor.

LaunchpadMcQ

...can I smell you?
ATP is a good kill, though he seems like he'd be on the shortlist for heals tonight.

The example vanilla PM in the OP has a flavor name, so I think vanillas do have names.

LaunchpadMcQ

...can I smell you?
It feels like Kenny, Zeke, and I are in pretty good positions, with very little chance an investigative role will blow our spots up. I'll still use the second ninja tonight in case there's a watcher out there.

Blarg is understandably going to be a topic of discussion from tomorrow onwards, but we might be able to drag him through the rest of the game depending on which players have been killed off. If there are few enough players, we can just push the narrative that "yep this reads like town Blarg" if he gives even a small bit of solving contribution and power through it.

LaunchpadMcQ

...can I smell you?
oh, we should probably consider that Blarg might get vigged tonight

I do have an idea of how we can protect Blarg and make sure our kill goes through on Fran or ATP - we switch Fran/ATP and Blarg for tonight, then target Blarg with the night kill. Night kill and [hypothetical] vig shot will go to Fran/ATP, and [hypothetical] protection will go to Blarg.

Someone check my logic on that lol

Ynnek7

OH MY GOD, THEY LYNCHED YNNEK
I do like the idea of shooting Blarg and then switching to our actual target. If anyone is following us it might make it easier to come up with a decent lie to explain why we're visiting each other.

Without much to go off of Day 1, it's tough to figure out how the other kill chose their target. Blargs definitely a possibility since the rest of us are being discussed more in the thread.

Ynnek7

OH MY GOD, THEY LYNCHED YNNEK
Also, crazy theory that most definitely isn't true, but I want it written down in case I'm right:

This game has 2 neutrals and four scum teams. The bastard element is that we've all been told that there's a "chance" our flips will be made town flips, when in reality everyones will.

Ynnek7

OH MY GOD, THEY LYNCHED YNNEK

Dont forget blarg has 2 redirects. So he could protect himself w/o using the switch ability.

Im just gonna go awol probably. I feel town as at the point where they will quickly move to anyone who doesnt answer the above question correctly.

It's you who has something off about you, Zipped.

I'm in trouble because I 1) took an unpopular position because I thought it was best for town; and 2) didn't live up to some imaginary ideal D2

You're up for elimination because you care about what people think of you this game in a way that you don't as town. You get criticized for not solving, you leap out with some softball questions about why people didn't vote Geno just so you can get points for engaging when they respond with the obvious answer that it was to avoid turbo. You get accused of coasting and you go off the wall with a sarcastic rant tagging every poster you can think of, a massive overreaction that is not in character for you as town. As town you're chill, you don't care what people think, you're just doing your own thing. This feels like you trying to put on a performance as "town".
Get'em Hawthorn, very good points on zipped.
