I am willing to vote out HP today. He seems really off this game, even compared to past scum games. As his friend I worry something is up with him outside the game, but I've been fooled by him that way before so I'm going to have to be a hardass here.
I am going to put a vote down on Royal to hopefully get something from him. I'm not expecting much though.

Yeah HP is just angy this game and not putting much down. I don't even want to push him for more because I feel like it's just noise clogging up the thread. Shirou is pushing him anyway though.
The fact that he hasn't done his patented "ISO for interactions between players" yet is setting off some alarm bells for me. He pulled that move in Mafioso as scum at least one time, but I remember it was very half-assed compared to the ones in Scooby Doo 2, where his town!butt was on the line and he went deeply in-depth even though scum!monkey was (falsely) telling him how useless it was.

Right now I'm feeling either
1. LP is telling the truth and he protected wee last night, who would've been the most obvious target aside from LP himself.
2. LP is scum, and scum did some hydrocannon no-kill bullshit.
I feel like holding off from voting out LP today might be the move, in case he is telling the truth and really is a 4-shot doctor.

I'd be willing to lose HP today and that flip might inform what LP. If HP is scum, we can look at what LP's saying and if it's a bus or legitimate. Thinking overnight, I feel like I might have been off about Ephi and LP yesterday. HP, Royal, and anex as the last 3 scum could fit.

I think maybe we need to pressure zipped for a claim here. LP was on him and i also noted his soft-claim of invest. OK, riker getting a copy of the report means….there should BE an invest besides me….eh….blarg as tracker random should have gotten too tho…..

I think 3-4 invest roles makes sense for a Beholder.
That's Ambu/Vere, wee, Blarg, and maybe someone else? A scum rolecop makes sense in a role madness game so that's another option, but having both a tracker and a role cop seems a bit much for one scum team.

Oh one of Launch's gadgets could've been an invest, as could malus' prize. That's some other options. Still not 100% sold on Ambu's claim but I wouldn't press there right now. I still feel like we should do HP before Ambu/Vere to see if the flip matches the check

Honestly i was expecting malus to be riker. We’ve seen worf, you’d think crusher would be the doctor, etc.
I just read through anex looking for his reads, and he really doesn't have many, which is why I asked him for some town reads. I feel like he was a much better solver in The Thing, he's not giving that same energy here. I'm going to ISO him again looking for any posts where he is dismissive or deflects or both-sides points, because I feel like he's had quite a few of those.
Alright that took longer than I thought. Here's a list of posts by anex with some dismissive or both-sides-y arguments. They aren't in any kind of order, but this is more about the quantity of the posts and the type of content within them, rather than any kind of narrative or gradual development. I will note that the first time anex made a post like this was on D2. Perhaps he felt the shitposting phase was over.

This is a lot of posts that are wishy-washy and downplay arguments. It's a bit rich coming from me because I could be accused of doing the same thing in the past. I like evaluating all possibilities and then pursuing the one that seems best to me, but when I vomit all that information into the thread it can appear non-committal and like I am hedging my reads, which is a scummy behaviour. This is something I am actively working on improving in my play and I think I've done a little better with it this game so far, but the fact that I have that inclination, I think has helped me better recognize when other players do it as well. anex doing this, as well as not posting many reads and not really solving like he did in The Thing, is definitely raising some flags for me and putting him in my PoE. Also unlike myself when I do this behaviour, anex is not lighting the thread on fire with a huge quantity of posts in general, so these wishy-washy posts take up a disproportionately large percentage of his posts.

I'm going to post a cleaned up version of my anex ISO post in the thread, I'll probably put a vote down there after, I'm not committed to my Royal vote at the moment. I would prefer HP to anex today but I think getting some dueling wagons going would be good.

I agree with preferring to not out myself that I am in here, as well. It just puts a target on me for no reason. I am effectively vanilla now so if we're put into a situation where we want to draw the night kill away from PRs, I am willing to be outed for that purpose and potentially sacrificed. I think there's more value in keeping quiet right now.

I don't really buy anex's claim either. It just seems too convenient. It creates an excuse for why he hasn't been solving and posting reads, it further pushes his top "scumread" HP, it gives him a future excuse to avoid engaging in the game.
Him going into panic mode after getting 2 votes on him is not particularly inspiring either.
I want to press him on more specifics of the role but I'm not really expecting that to change my mind so I might just leave it.

Oh also he claimed he has unlimited shots of roleblock. That seems pretty ridiculous so I also don't believe that. Every role has been x-shot so far, except Q which is a weird enough role on its own. While you could argue that a balancing decision behind that would be that if everyone else is x-shot, eventually the roleblock won't matter. And for a scum roleblocker, that is correct. But for a town roleblocker, they could keep blocking the scum factional kill forever. That seems off, to me.

The Blarg wagon felt pretty clean to me. I like most of the names there. LP is the only one that gives me real pause. If it was a big town surge, how was scum supposed to save Blarg? They'd be smarter to just let it go instead of implicating themselves.

Hmm thoughts on the HP double vote? Where does that move him on the scum-town scale?
HP 2-shot double vote is making me slide him a bit further to the townie side of the scale. I know he's been having some issues in his personal life lately so maybe that is the reason for his play this game. I am wary of being fooled by HP tugging at my heart strings again though. He knows I'm sensitive.

I really want him to be scum because if hes town the whole pity thing is frustrating. I was on him hard d1 and maybe I went too hard at him but that's because I've seen strong town hp and we weren't getting any of that and I think he blew up after only getting 2 votes put on him.

Yeah that's how I feel. If it's town HP I'm going to be sad and a bit upset. The ability is really saving him. If he had an unverifiable claim he would've been gone already.

he’s actually been LESS offensive to people than normal, lol. Royal is not normally a polite sort of player either. They deserve each other.
Probably I’m not dead because my reads were bad. Zipped seems confused why his obvious targets as a bodyguard haven’t been killed. Still don’t see why we’d have a bodyguard AND a doctor, so for me either LP OR zipped may not be town, but probably not both, although zipped keeps changing his hints around, if I get time I’ll reread him completely.

I checked the wiki on O’Brien playing poker, and he DID. I hadn’t recalled it very well because the more memorable episodes with poker didn’t include him. But I don’t see malus as scum.

HP could be scum too. Roleblocker being a traditional scum role as town, and double voter being a traditional town role as scum? It balances out in a way. We've already seen quite a few pairs of roles balanced in this way this game.
