I'm wondering if we go post willy-nilly in game chat, or if we go more reserved and post in here first, then one of us post whatever in the game chat? Keep a unified front? I already see some people posting on the same account a minute apart, so you can kind of start to split out the different people on a team. Do we want people to be able to do that with us? Or keep it tight and controlled so we only ever appear as one person?

Hopefully will feel better and become more active tomorrow. I have terrible posture when painting---I stare down and hunch over way too much---which just exacerbates my already messed up neck and shoulder issues. So....all that to say, I'll try my best to be around today, but it's gonna be spotty.

Not much to go off of, but so far based on vibes I'm also in camp Town-Submarine.

Vote candidates for me are Galleon and Yacht. I'm not a fan of the reasoning based on the pre game joke. While it is the case that Scum know their team, in my experience they won't make it this obvious unless they post in the wrong thread by accident. In fact usually Scum have a harder time interacting with each other than with Town, so if anything I'd say Houseboat and Duck are probably not Scum/Scum.
Yacht is more vibes based. Their read on Galleon feels a bit off I think, not sure why it's bothering me though.

If you look up all of Houseboat's posts, it's jokes and memes until this post, then you can see serious face turn on, and mostly stay on afterwards. I'm not sure what to make of it, but I don't love it....

I'm seeing some people trying to figure out who is who. Each time my brain goes down that path, I shut it down. Takes away some of the fun in the main game, but even moreso, leads to the silly meta reads. We aren't here to solve who is underneath each costume, but to solve who is scum. Mini-Rant over.

We've had too many games where scum have nothing to say, so they throw out wisdom/advice posts about what town need to be doing. Like:

I like the thought that if I can find something townie in one of the pair that it helps clear up the other half even if i have a poorer grasp on some of the posts coming out of an account. There's 26 of us but if you can something positive on even just one of the voices per slot, you only have 12 reads you need to nail successfully. Even just a few pages in, the game feels like a bit of jumble and kind of hard to parse but with the above in mind it feels doable if we just keep trying to find townie things. Plus having a friend to be try to bounce reads off of should be nice.

But Gondola sounds genuine here. I buy it. There was someone else giving townie advice that I did not like or find genuine. Now I can't find it. But while I look:

I'm very glad you brought this up, allow me to explain better. When I first voted for Submarine, yes, it absolutely was a joke vote. As the game progressed, however, instead of moving it off of them, I kept it on them for the reasons I listed in the big post you quoted.

I did find yacht's initial defense of Houseboat to be really odd but only in a 'if houseboat is scum then so is yacht' kinda way. a scum!yacht going to bat for a town!houseboat that fast and decisively is odd considering that pair never said anything about HB before that.

as for the hashing out in thread? kinda NAI to me and i think it'll be case-by-case. that example there doesn't really ping anything for me since they dont quote one another directly to talk about it.

Then Yacht's next post is 6 hours later and is about notifications? Then an hour later about Skiff and adding signatures. (Guessing this is the other partner?) Then an hour later gets back to game stuff---the next posts are what I brought up in #31 and #32. A very non-committal, "I see what they're saying..." without actually saying they agree or disagree with the conclusion. The Yachht pokes Galleon later this morning around 10 AM asking how they feel about Duck and House Boat now that more interactions are down. Galleon never responds to Yacht directly, Yacht doesn't push for an answer. But Galleon is in the middle of getting grilled here, so that could be a reason. Then a joke post about boats. Yacht moves on to asking Beluga about their reads, and also quotes Galleon:

There's been some talk of strong words and slimy would be one of them for me. Can you expand on what you mean here about their engagement? Is it the jokey-seeming interactions you have highlighted or the way they have responded to other players?

I previously did quotes showing why. ‘Slimy’ is a word i meant for a synonym of ‘gut’, but with an indication that i find them toward the scummy side.

Their responses have intensified the feeling, as I found it odd for them to claim such a jokey looking vote post was sincere and a disagreement between the pair.

That's that for that conversation. Then Yacht grabs onto House Boat stuff:

Stuff like this hurricane is awful---when Hurricane Michael hit, it took us months to catch up. Gotta prioritize getting elderly and medical customers back up with phone service as quick as possible.
