Scum Thread The Board Room

I've gotta admit, being on the chopping block atm feels tense. In the good way. I'm a little excited about it and about how this could go.

I don't know how to explain it other than that XD

Fun fact: If you were actual town (and don't repeat this in thread cuz they'll have an inkling that I told you), being on the chopping block like this is basically a chance to let loose and go at anything that jumps. If you're about to be lynched, you have nothing to lose after all, so might as well try and catch scum off-guard with an extremely aggressive game.

If my role claim is convincing enough to get other people off me, it would give you a chance but yeah, if I was in your position, I'd keep on the train as well.

You okay if I make a case for xbro and Stuart both being scum and vote scum? I'll can then change from Stuart to xbro if you claim.

In about 2 - 2 and a half hours, I'll stake my claim I think. Maybe 3 hours. idk.

So any input on that needs to be done soon.

I think if we go with option 2 from earlier, it'd probably the most likely chance I have of surviving. Option 1 would be a dead end for me regardless.

I burst out laughing at your latest post Sophia XD.

The Sophian Blignton is programmed extensively with many anti-Proletariat, anti-Communist measurements. Foolish scum such as the lowly Kyan will be most fooled, for they don't chase the almighty dollar. Trickle Down Economics! Capitalism, ho!

Just remember to make the post substansial enough, so it doesn't look just scum bussing in retrospect.

We really need to bring buses back into public ownership :-)

About your role claim. I don't think it's a town role to reveal who's behind a token. Only scum benefits.

I would say hider who visits spaces in his range to hide at night, occupied spaces that is, but I'm afraid there is already one and if he counterclaims we don't really benefit from it.

Maybe space watcher?

The problem with claiming anything but cop means fabricating information - if it's found out Stuart is pulling the information out of nowhere, it's game over for him.

I feel like the fact it reveals alignment is town beneficial. Scum already knows who other Scum are so alignment would be useless to Scum.

If you do claim, I think it's best if you don't reveal which token you are. Just say you want to increase your chances of survival.

He can say that a token is friendly. Maybe somebody even confirms and we got our first token name combi

"I check a token and get an alignment" sounds pretty towny. I mean, scum doesn't need a role like that.

I think an issue with this is:

If we have a neutral, it might out me as lying.

But that's a LOW chance so it's a good strategy I think to do this.

But people may not confirm it if it reveals their token which is the main issue. if people don't believe it and no one is willing to out their token by confirming it.

Oh, another possibility is that the role appears useless to Town as it doesn't say who is friendly (as in player name) and people may not want to out their token.

So there is problems with claiming token alignment.

So there is problems with claiming token alignment.

You can argue that this is the counter to your role - it gives you information but not "perfect information", only partial.

Hmm. I'm not sure I'll be able to bluff my way through this but I'm willing to give it a try.

It also means no restrictions on range is needed to make it seem less OP nor do we need to make it X-shot. As it gives me info but not perfect info is an argument for it being unlimited.

Also means I should pick a random token that I can say I checked on N1.

Any other thoughts from any of you folks?

So we're in agreement.

I'm an unlimited Token alignment cop. I can see what alignment a token is but I don't get to see who the player is behind the token.

Make sure to specify 12 range. That isn't a lie. There's no reason not to claim it.

I also think it might be honest to claim you checked the Rocking Horse. That might add some believable explanation to it.

Idk, town might not buy checking rocking horse.

I would add within a certain amount of space range tho.

Might make it seem a tad underpowered then and thus useless. The fact that I can't see the player behind the token seems like a good counter balance to it.

but if Grizz and Sophia agree then we can add a range restriction

I also think it might be honest to claim you checked the Rocking Horse. That might add some believable explanation to it.

Possibly but it would almost certainly out myself as Horse & Rider, wouldn't it?

Hmm. It does give Stuart credit if he has the balls to out himself as horse & rider and checking royal for the sake of the claim.

I mean town will understand Stuart could've mentioned every token he wanted if he was scum.

Android Sophia

Miss Congeniality
I don't think claiming he checked Royal outs himself? Assuming a range of 12, the big pack is 10 away. He could basically be any piece in that mess.

Am I missing something?

I think town tends for thinking about shorter range atm. But yea, if he claims it's 12 he can be almost all.

It's more that people brought up earlier that the person to kill Rocking Horse was likely Horse and Rider. So even claiming a range of 12 could make people think I'm trying to cover myself by making a range that is big enough to go to all the other tokens that were close together

I think claiming range 12 is fine. Leaves a big bunch of tokens as possibilities.

And yeah, claim you checked Rocking Horse. Then I can argue a good reason to keep my vote.

Pretty sure most argue that the scum nk is huge range or infinite range.

That latest post was me having a bit of fun. Also creates some distance since I haven't really responded to you much at all til now.

Geno takes criticism and scum reads so badly, he always reacts with aggression.

I'll come back after I'm done reading over Apollo and chime in regarding the lack of reads on me. Waiting to see if anyone else says anything. That could be bad if Stuart is lynched today tho.

I won't call her out on this - mainly because I have enough to deal with as it is including my incoming claim - but I love how Sweetnicole will ALWAYS pounce on someone elses one off comments or joke posts but no one ever jumps on hers. Like that little "Help, I joined a mafia game" post. Same with the mechanic discussion which I pointed out before in my post against her but it was handwaved away by her.

If anything though, it's stuff that can be used by her if she makes any similar comments in the future I guess.

I will keep my vote on you, I will argue that checking Rocking Horse is awfully convenient for scum fake claim.

Geno's anger at Apollo is something that we might need to use as ammunition in the future.

Geno gets angry really quick.

Once I'm gone, Geno is probably next with the way he's going.

Tbh, he always does this, so it's not really NAI. I drove him up the wall in Buck Bumble, and he got lynched D1 due to his behaviour.

I don't think I'll be claiming I checked rocking horse. I'm almost certainly on the chopping block so I'm going to play this more ballsy and pick one from the big pile of tokens from day 1.

I feel it's the best thing I can do now.

Geno is a gift for each scum team. But I like it. He's never boring.

And brace yourself if he thinks you are scum

I'm not sure that's the best idea, tbh. You could be town confirming someone by accident if you do flip scum.

Geno's problem that his anger makes him harder to take 100% seriously. He could be an excellent town leader, but he has issues to get people behind his cause.

Also, if Stuart flips, we can point out he voted SF D1 in the SF vs Geno fight.

I might have to go all in with my claim. Be honest about what it is and even confirm my piece as Horse & Rider.

Sophia and Grizzly are probably safe. Grizzly especially is considering no one suspects him at all. You should be okay too DCPat.

So I'll just go all in with this and see what happens. Then even if I flip scum, well... yeah it will be chaos. a Scum cop who told the truth.

I think if you claim honestly, your survival until Day 4 is guaranteed. People are going to be hesitant to lynch a claimed cop as long as you don't wait to the last second to claim like some people do.

And if you survive this day phase with the claim out there, the only thing that will ensure your death is either a vig shot, or people being surprised at how long you've lived.

Also, if Stuart flips, we can point out he voted SF D1 in the SF vs Geno fight.

I've been spending literally all day phase setting that up just in case you, DCPat, or him flipped. :P

@Grizzly, do you think he should confirm his piece? I like the idea of being honest as it strikes me as a townie thing to do especially as a newbie, but at the same time I think confirming his piece basically leaves him open to being shot by scum, which will make people question why he hasn't been shot? As long as he claims honestly on everything else, he should be fine, right?

I'm not sure. I think he should keep his token a secret, but say "if you people want me to reveal my token, I can do that".

People still seem unsure on if scum can target players or pieces along with if they have a range or not so it may still confuse people

I agree with this. I'd say do this, Stuart.

Yes, but revealing your piece could make it look like you have more info than you actually do.

"You're revealing your token, why?" is the first thing you will be asked, I bet.

The Bear

Obligatory Gay Bear of the Society
The thing is, I think your check revealing the player is not a town role - it gives too much information. So claiming "I check a token and get only alignment, not player" is more believable - in general, town information roles don't usually give "perfect information", there needs to be something to make it imperfect.

Android Sophia

Miss Congeniality
TLDR Version of the claim:

1. Claim you can check a token for their alignment, but you don't find the player name.
2. Claim your actual range, or approx. there of.
3. Claim you checked Rocking Horse n1. Which turned out to be Royal.
4. Don't claim token, but offer the option of revealing if people desire it.

That sound right?

So claiming "I check a token and get only alignment, not player" is more believable - in general, town information roles don't usually give "perfect information", there needs to be something to make it imperfect.

Problem with this is:

1. The first question would be "How the hell is that useful for town when town votes on players, not pieces. It helps town in no way whatsoever"

2. If I tell the truth, people will be second guessing a lot and it may cause chaos as I'm not only a scum cop, I told the truth about my powers. So flipping may cause a lot of people to second guess the game

The thing that makes my power imperfect is, I don't get roles. I don't know who is a vig, who is a doc, etc.
