Oh, I forgot, I can talk about this now - when Dusk asked if the roles were selected for us instead of RNGed, I reacted because I hollered at Ouro as soon as I saw my role PM with much the same reaction. If Ouro's trying to "torture us" or whatever, this is the perfect role for me because I second-guess myself constantly and allow myself to be swayed by others. So an override? Makes sense. Why would Dusk think that, then? What's his perfect role?

May be a small thing, but worth thinking on.

Quoting all these together because I think this is a possibility and not just because of CCS, though that would feed in, but also because if there's another inactive or less active in scum, pushes would be hard or too obvious, making it difficult to pull off.

Sorian, I don't think it's feps. God knows I could be wrong but I'd call Kark before feps, long before. I'm 50/50 on nin at the moment.

Kark and FEP are echoing each other so completely that there are only very subtle differences. Kark is the much more hard headed of the two but that's him regardless where as FEP tried to tunnel but then steps back if resistance gets to high. Like I said, I think FEP is the one sheeping Kark here. They could also both be scum but that seems very short sighted. Feel like 2 scum don't go all in on a tunnel like this.

Okay, so after having gone through the entire thread I feel that I will start with:

You love talking about tunnels, Sorian. Think about the one you've been in. Tell us about that. More, tell us what my flip teaches you about the game. More, tell me about why you don't want to pursue the CCS train today. There is no way there's not scum on that train. As in, literally no way.

Faddy, I don't understand your logic at all. There's no scum on the Kawl lynch therefore Sorian can't be scum? Something about if there is bussing then Sorian can't be scum? Literally no comprendo.

Worm, the two more scum thing was a mistake. I think sorian pointed it out right after i said it too.

The fact is there is no way scum lose a 2nd player to 4 votes if there is 3 scum left. Nin ended the day with 2 confirmed Town players on him plus heymonkey. There are at least 2 scum left, why doesn't that nin vote carry instead of town being able to hit alleged scum Sorian. The only way that happens is if heymonkey and Sorian are scum together, which is what Kark was pushing at the start of the day but backed off because he realised it was dumb.

You're assuming there are no inactive scum. You're assuming scum votes weren't already tied up on the second train.

Why did Nin and Kark split their votes d1 instead of saving kawl? Why did scum both lead into a wagon rather than create one?

I see where you're coming from, but I'm not convinced. Food for thought. I guess the million dollar question is: who do you think is best lynch?

That is pretty obvious. Split the vote and see if one of the trains gathers momentum. Then one on the failed wagon can move over if it becomes a 2-way race on the premise that they were picking between two people. Since neither train really picked up they played it safe and kept separate votes.

Set the monkey override aside for now. Sorian was on a well-deserved vote majority yesterday, and we need to get back there. There's nothing the override told us that changed the reasons behind that vote.

or at least wanting to unlink the idea from the case for lynching Sorian.

I demonstrated with the votes that the only way Sorian is scum is if heymonkey is scum. From the scum flip and the utility of monkey's power it is very unlikely she is scum.

imo heymonkey isn't scum therefore sorian isn't scum.

Again, Kawl and Sorian were tied when a CCS train then came out of nowhere (because of Topo's post, which wasnt even discussed much)

Not enough to overtake Kawl though. And if scum were reading my posts closely they would be nervous I would switch from CCS.
Enough to tie Kawl and then force to either bounce off kawl or ccs or for other sorian voters to choose between those two. And it isn't like tying the vote is a scumtell provided there is reasonable time for people to adjust accordingly.

While i see what you're saying, I'm not convinced. The votes don't tell any definitive story of sorian being town imo. Dusk and Worm look there cleanest to me. Everyone else ranges neutral to bad.

Let's see what happens
Blarg is making some shifty movements in the last two minutes, no doubt inspired by monkey. It's unclear what Sorian would've/could've seen here - Blarg had been voting CF since T-8 minutes to eod, but he didn't start shifting until T-2, and Sorian shifts tracks at T-1. We also get Cabot voting Sorian at T-2 right before Blarg's shifting.

Your flip is the only one that ties to someone else actually so asking me what information it gives is dumb. If you are scum then Kark is likely town and vice-versa. That said, I don't flip for info. I want to flip you because I think you are scum. I've made myself very clear on the CCS train and I'm also well aware that the majority of the votes will end up there today but until then, I can make my stance here known. Trust me, I can read the room perfectly fine, if I were actually trying to avoid my own lynch, I'd be rallying votes against nin or Topo, that would be much easier than diverting to you.

Also, I did some counting of the remaining players on posts since this phase started.

Dr. Worm, El Topo, Faddy, cabot, Sorian, flatearthpandas, Karkador, and I are all pretty active. Ty4on and Terra get a pass as they've just replaced (but have already outposted the people they replaced).

You've most definitely stepped back. Your second post of the day was saying how obvious it was scum monkey protected scum Sorian. You've since, as Faddy said, distanced yourself from Monkey being certain scum.

Hell you've even mentioned the possibility of a Town Sorian flip.

I tell you what I struggle with Kark. You and Sorian have history, so it's easy to create a tunnel/genuine attack on players you have history with.

I know this because I did this. In Anime, as scum I spent most of three day phases arguing with Dusk Soldier, because he was clearly lying and I knew it. He wasn't on my team, but the argument felt real because it was. I can see scum!Kark going for the easiest emotional well in this game, which is tunnel in on Sorian.

You did this from Day 1, I've seen nothing from Sorian that's a clear as shit scumtell.

More links, don't worry. Keep pulling the sweater. I'm at work now and won't have time to really engage for a few hours.

But I want to say that I object to this idea of sharing reads as being scummy. Kark and I share some reads. That isn't a link. Lynching one of us does not indicate alignment of the other. Especially without knowing your alignment. When you flip scum we both look great.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe scum would use an override this early in the game.

So confused at this.

Why waste a power like that on blarg?

vote: Sorian

Nothing that's happened since yesterday has changed my mind there.

Sorian and monkey's reactions to blarg-gate haven't really eased my concerns.

We don't have enough information to make that call.

It might seem implausible for scum to have all these powers together, but town may be packing quite a bit of tools themselves.

We also have to consider that the game may be plain unbalanced in scum's favour, or that town doesn't have the proper coordination to make use of the tools they've got.

Dusk, you sure changed your mind on monkey quick enough.

So yeah.
Faddy was making the case that scum team having both a lynch bomb and an override would be game breaking balance wise.

And I was countering that we don't have enough information to make reads based on game balance.

Monkey being scum at this point seems unlikely, because she two weapons D1 she could have used to save Kawl, but she didn't.

karkador

Scum monkey would not override Kawl because that was day 1. Too early to use up an override on a situation that was getting fixed by the rush on CCS.

Day 2 came around and Sorian was yet again in trouble. Sorian was a more important scum to protect , and the rush on someone else was there, but not as strong. Sorian ended up winning the vote, so it was a desperation move.

They chose a bystander with no clear target, Blarg, to not make it look like a retaliatory move (despite that, the command has a pretty retaliatory sound, "NO U:")

Here, at least, we agree. I see where feps is coming from and where he's going. Kark is weaving and because I know where I stand, it's actually done the opposite of what he intended and made me think you might be town. But I still don't trust you - or rather, I trust your ability to say the best thing at the best time to make yourself look clean.

Still, I have only meta reasons to think Kark could be scum and regardless I think it's much more likely that we're seeing a big town knot while scum skates by without a care in the world. I understand why Kark is weaving this narrative, though not why he's so dedicated to it. It's just he's wrong about a big part of it and then the whole thing collapses.

It's amazing how grounded in the votes you are. Yeah, you started the train today with the logic of "it was supposed to happen yesterday, continue." I'm talking about sheeping of logic, not necessarily who was fastest with the highlight tags.

Anyway, I'm going to bed, I'll be awake before day end (by more than normal because the rest of you losers had to do daylight savings time). I'm talking to a brick wall at this point but "information" is not why you lynch. Take a step back and consider why you've pigeon holed yourself into thinking you have to vote for me and how a scum Sorian makes any sense with how the votes have gone so far. There is clearly town amongst the people tunneled on me and you need to take a long hard look on how you arrived there and who guided you to that choice because you are either figuring it out before the deadline today or, if not, you'll have to do it after I flip. At the end of the day, I'm not really going to fight that hard because I have nothing to lose here but I am going to keep frustratingly throw my reads out there until more people get it because as it stands now, we are dancing in a circle because a lot don't want to bother thinking until they see me dead.

You are off the rails with your conspiracy shit, man. I mean you are just making stuff up with no basis whatsoever, raw conjecture to confirm what you think you know.

nin was never going to be my final vote yesterday. I didn't even use final-vote language. I don't even know if he's my final vote today. Once I decided to override, what reason did I have to change my vote? Why would I bother? I was in the car coming back from the symposium. Voting is hard enough on mobile without shifting votes and trying to pull off a command in twilight.

This makes sense. You posted your nin vote to see what would happen. i.e. would scum jump out to save a scum Sorian, that didn't happen. The only vote playing about was Blarg, who is confirmed town, which means we can read that scum were happy with the direction the vote was going.

So if we flip nin and he is scum we can be pretty sure the other scum votes were on Sorian. If nin is town it narrows down our search for scum on the CCS train.

Look, I gotta go teach. But let's take a second to look at this:
me: override, whoops, hit town. Looks like a saving move for Sorian. Sure, can see that.
Kark: tunnels from day one, focuses on mechanics, reads into flavor, tries to see overall game structure, tries to cut off other lines of inquiry, determined to see scum override regardless of whether that makes sense in game, makes up wild mechanics, does not look at anything outside of tunnel.

I get where you see I could be scummy. I can follow that logic chain. But dude, it's like you pulled down the scum playbook and are self-challenging to see how many tells you can drop at once.
