The small things are what make this so good, like how it says "ERA-2514" for the card number because Fran's user number on Era is 2514 lol.

Alexem

Yeah, I'm town
I'm finding myself thinking about this typo from Monday morning again:

I would not be surprised if my abilities were somewhat universal they seem like very basic buffs to my master.
My reaction to seeing it then was that it was a possible slip (which Ephidel pointed out as I was about to mention it here), but today's developments put it in an interesting light. Could easily be a genuine typo, but part of me still wonders if Jman was at one point considering some sort of false claim and forgot he'd already put himself out as master.

On the flipside, though, I'm not sure what trying to look more expendable would have achieved, so I'm probably overthinking things.

Not gunna lie, I was definitely getting some secondhand gamerunner anxiety just from reading the thread earlier, so I know it was about 10x as bad for you two actually having to deal with it all. I think we all knew this was probably going to be a wild one to moderate, but I think you're both doing great so far! <3

Thanks fanto ;w; I was actually the only one around when it happened (besides Monkey checking in periodically of course). Seriously it all started as soon as Vere left to go do stuff >>; (Not his fault, just a crazy weird coincidence I was left to handle it myself)

So if any of the players have problems with the moderation you can put it on my shoulders.

:thisisfine:

It’s common sense, you can’t redirect an action into a situation that isn’t valid. Why would killing yourself be a valid command? Again this isn’t a REFLECT where the original target goes and then it bounces back. This is changing the original target.

It's funny because in fate Command seals can be used to make servants kill themselves and technically that was why we included the redirect even tho it can't do that. :eyes:

I'm glad the mood calmed down now, for a time it got a bit uncomfortable to read.

It did give some good content to analyze though.
I agree with the position that Fran and Jman are just two incompatible Town players. What stood out to me is how Mao was initially just complaining about not having anything to work with, but then being quick to hop on the Jman train. I think he wanted to use the "no kill" D1 as an excuse to coast through the day without having to contribute much.

Alexem

Yeah, I'm town
I can see Jman being town, although I think Fran's being genuine in his accusations. The problem is that I can see this dragging on and consuming discussion if left un-checked for much longer, so I can see the merit in flipping Jman so that even if he's town, scum can't keep using FUD around him as as cover. At this point, Fran's pretty much got a target painted on his back regardless of what happens.

I'm also inclined to go along with Zeke as town at this point. As usual when there are a few of them, it wouldn't surprise me if one of the new players has rolled scum - Ephidel seems pretty genuine to me so far. (Should it turn out she's scum trying to cover herself as being a helpful townie, then she's doing a good job.)

Can't wait for Nat to get back and see all these notifications from jman tagging him over and over again.
What makes it even more amusing is it was the same point being made every time and it's not even one that is correct considering I agree with Natiko that a vig shouldn't be able to be redirected to kill themselves

:surprised:

Getting a kill shot reflected back at them sure... but not a redirect. As for his comparison with self voting, that is an extremely different beast and is allowed mostly because a player directly chooses to vote themselves anyway.

so, being a 18 players game scum must be 4 players, yes?

how many of them could be in pure scum pairs? Taking into account there is a risk of half of the scum team dying immediately, I doubt there are two pure scum pairs if scum is 4 strong

So my guess is:
Master Servant
Scum Scum
Town Scum
Scum Town

If it is 5, add another Town Scum pair

That sounds like a good line of thinking. There's also the possibility of a neutral instead of a fifth scum - typically I'd say that would over-complicate a full pairs game, but since this game's bastard...

I need to talk with Loki but the envelope for what constitutes mod-killable action is really being pushed after yesterday. I think most people are going to see it as a precedent.

I definitely don't envy you two in this game. From the semi-outside without knowing everything behind the scenes it seems like you are being really boxed in on this.

However, we have already made a list of things we want to address for all future fate games we do in the future.

There is not much we can do now that certain stuff has happened but for the future games we can have a more firm stance.

Correction, Vere and I are putting our foot down (a bit >>) We can't really do much about what has been done because it keeps happening at weird times when we aren't around butttttttt we can make sure it doesn't happen in the future and that previous near violators know not to try it again as well.

I'm worried Loki will modkill me if I say! :P

But seriously, yes, I am mentoring, but I'm keeping my mentee a secret from spec chat on my own, at least until they die lol.
Oh i wouldn't do that :p

However they did make one mean post about me :<
/s

We'll have to share it once it's revealed lol.

Launch has been giving me major Scum vibes since he went hard after Jman but had Mao as a Town lean for some reason.
Maybe that's just me being paranoid after he's been Mafia so many times though.

I saw the writing on the wall for this outcome last night. I wish I had at least one more night to use my power, but at the very least I was able to breadcrumb my Night 1 results.

Breadcrumbs? In this community? I prefer the anvil method and even then half the people don't pick on it.
Yeah, I was tempted to go and be really unsubtle about it, but didn't want to cross all the way into soft-roleclaim territory. Especially since I only told my partner that I was a bodyguard. That would have been awkward.

Sorry that happened to you Sky :< Lancelot is one of my faves and your role was super cool. One day a bodyguard in my game will die protecting someone instead of being killed in some other way. XD

Also I'm also sad because your chat with your partner was the biggest chat we post wise :<

Seriously? What is everyone else doing with their partner chat? You don't learn anything without engaging in some kind of chat.

Though I could say that about this game as a whole. Everyone is so weirdly reserved.

Some of it is time zones, other cases is people not trusting each other XD It's like how Sorian and LP were the least amount of posts.

We lost the most and least amount of posts in the same day :I

Actually it's only The redirect that makes me not trust my partner not the fact that the game is bastard.

I did not know redirects where universal to all masters and assumed only I had it and figured you guys gave me a redirect because my partner is potentially scum

LOL the redirect was also included so that if a servant had submitted their action, but the master wanted to change the target and the servant wouldn't be back the master could. It's like when scum does an action for another player in their name because they can't be around.

But yes it also to help sow distrust :eyes:

I kept saying to myself If Fran was a healer why would I need to redirect his shot Heals are harmless

If Fran is a Doctor why is his class Assassins

I played myself pretty hard.

It's possible we can be living in a world were Fran is a serial killer who can't self target and I simply refunded him LOL that would be a crazy twist

LOL true.

I also just want to point out that doctors have qualified for the assassin class in the past. :D

Some examples:

Charles Henri Sanson- Inventor of the guillotine was a doctor.
Dr. Henry Jekyl- His other half Mr. Hyde is a berserker.
The version of Jack the ripper based on it being a doctor.

(There are several jack the rippers actually. All are Assassin from what I understand, but each one is based on a different theory about Jack. Long story short, most servants are based more on what the world knows about people than what was factual so different versions can even exist.)

Yeah, I'm town
"Fun" fact - the man thought to be the most prolific serial killer in British legal history was a friendly-looking family doctor who was bumping off his elderly patients with overdoses of painkillers and putting it down to old age.

(Having said that, I don't really think that Harold Shipman would be very tasteful flavour for a mafia game, unless you're going all out to design 'Sick Bastards Mafia' - and even then I'd have reservations...)

At least we know for sure he'd qualify as an assassin servant... tho he's probably not well known enough to become one. XD

Hell even the Headless Horseman had to fuse with another urban figure to become a servant (two actually but one of them basically doesn't counts)

Mad as in angry, or mad as in crazy?
how’d you know about me?
i left enough data to piece together my results. And yet it would take the combined efforts of the thread, a role claim, my noobmastter sharing stuff, and understanding my speech patterns/crumb leavings.

it’s a shame sorian is dead, lol.

I didn't suspect it was you, but I knew that there was a tracker in the game after Night 1. I left a breadcrumb in the thread as to my results. I probably should have suspected that you were the tracker though, all things considered.

I’m sure i’ll get to it when i’m done filing taxes etc.

OK, so. I went back and did.

you’re saying I targeted sky’s master?
but...the result suggested my target was commuting. How could a master do that?

That was my bad. The messages was supposed to say Your target targeted no one. I wrote "Your targeted no one."
